Holy camoly Batman! We all ordered the Moqueca; 2 with shrimp, one with chicken and we all gobbled up our meal and practically licked the black plastic containers clean! What is Moqueca, you ask? It’s a heavenly stew made with red pepper, green pepper, onions, tomato, palm oil and coconut milk; served with rice and meat. The sauce is yellow and looks like curry but the taste is far more Thai than middle eastern. The food cart itself is very nondescript, and I was a tiny bit weary at first, but the line that formed behind us after ordering reassured us that this was a hidden gem. The great reviews online also told us we were going to enjoy our meals. Now we have to return to try the Feijoada, a black bean, bacon, beef and sausage stew served with rice and covered with thinly sliced collard greens. We used a coupon and saved about $ 8 on our 3 meals. That got us there but the delicious food is what will get us to go back.

Best Brazilian food in Portland, bar none. Don’t spend $ 50 a plate at a rodizio when this food cart is more authentic and more delicious than its chain counterparts!

Another great food truck on Belmonts’ pod. Tried the #1 dish which is chicken in a yellow coconut curry. Very flavorful and reminded me of the Malai Prawns curry which is a specialty dish in east india. will go back to try some of their other dishes for sure. especially the seafood ones which looked super interesting!

Ended up eating no 1 both times. It tastes very much like Thai curry though there are subtle differences. Would probably return again to try the other dishes.

I have been here twice and the good was great both times. I tried the #1 and #2 and a couple other plates with some friends. The meat wasnt over cooked and I really enjoyed all the flavors and textures. And the owner is sweet. I will def be back.

I tried the Tropeiro as it seemed to be what everyone liked about this place. All the elements seem to go well and the meat was well-seasoned; but, I just felt that it was too dry. I dont know if that is how it is supposed to be or if it turned out that way in my case.

I ordered the Tropeiro after asking the girl who works there what her favorite dish is although she said the most popular dish is the Feijoada. The Tropeiro is basically scrambled eggs with beef, bacon bits, sausage and beans topped with yucca flour that reminds me of grated Parmesan cheese. Well seasoned and flavorful. This is served with long grain rice cooked to perfection and shredded collard greens. I will definitely come back again with some friends.

We were out and about on the SE side of Portland. We got hungry and remembered there was a genuine Brazilian food cart nearby. The owner was so friendly and helpful! Try the Monqueca or Tropeiro if you want authentic. There are more dishes available now on the menu than in the«menu photo» pictured from 2 years ago. Obrigada!

Such a delicious meal… I felt like I was in Brazil. Perfectly seasoned and I loved every bite… highly recommended, this place is no fancy at all, but the food… best in the world. Next time in Portland, no freaking way I’ll be going to fancy restaurants… this will be my first stop. Congratulations for the hard work. People try the number 3… gosh that was heaven

First time eating authentic Brazilian food. We like garlic and are open to trying new things. We got the #3, Tropeiro, which had beef, garlic, onions, bacon, beans, with sides of collard greens and rice. It was also cooked with yucca flour, which gave it a quinoa texture. The nice lady served all of this with an egg… I don’t know what to say. The flavors just danced in my mouth. YOUHAVETOTRYTHISPLACE! I told her she needed to change this Tropeiro from #3 to #1. it’s so so good. I couldn’t shovel it into my mouth quickly enough.

Fantastic owner makes you feel that you are part of her home. Had the moqueca and it was so flavorful. Definitely make a trip to try out some authentic Brazilian flavors!

First of all, it’s clear that this woman really cares about her customers. She is very friendly and stays open past her listed times. I went there last night after 9:00 p.m. and she was still happily cooking. Secondly, the food cart is located in one of my favorite pods. There’s plenty of great seating to enjoy her food. The food itself is surprisingly delicious. If you’re like me and don’t have much experience with Brazilian food, then this is the place to start. The food looks less than appealing when it’s put in the to-go boxes, but the taste definitely makes up for. I recommend the Feijoada — cooked-to-perfection rice and beans with lots of meat, including beef and sausage. VERY reasonably priced for such a large portion size, and it makes for great leftovers.

Delicious. At $ 8 for such a large amount of food, it’s a bargain. Owner was extremely friendly and we had a good time talking about the insane bureaucracy in Brazil. I had the Maqueca and it was definitely how she described it, the palm oil is what makes that distinct flavor. I definitely will try the feijoada next time. I went back to tell her how it good it was, but a large group of Brazilians had descended on her cart, craving for the food of her homeland. I’m guess that’s a good sign that the food is legit.

Heloisa is the best. No wonder she is from Minas Gerais the place where almost all amazing Brazilian cooks come from. The feijoada is lean and super-flavorful. The moqueca is fresh and faithful to our traditional fish stews. A feast to your palate. The amazing coxinhas and the fresh sautéed kale are a dream.

I showed up to the cart with Feijoada on the mind. I had had the dish once at a Brazilian potluck and I loved it but had never seen it again. When I heard there was a Brazilian cart up the street from work I headed over hoping for the dish. I ordered the dish at a very reasonable price, 8 dollars. When it came out it was amazing… black beans and meat and sausage mixed with some greens and rice… I will be bringing my woman here all the way from Hillsboro just to have some of this great Feijoada.

On a slightly Sunday afternoon, my siblings want to go to the food carts on Belmont since it has been awhile and the last few times we attempted to go, hardly anything was opened. After doing a walk around, I settled on Brazilian food. I had Moqueca with shrimp, it’s pretty much a fish stew made of coconut milk, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, garlic, coriander and palm oil. I was not disappointed, the stew was so flavorful and unique – it didn’t remind me of any sort curries nor was it tomato-based like Gumbo. The only thing I didn’t care for was the raw diced tomatoes piled on top of the rice.

Finally, my first Brazilian food cart! I remember a Brazilian cart at the old D-Street Noshery pod(probably two years ago) that abruptly closed before I had a chance to try the food. One of the menu items from that cart was also on this menu, and the curious panda just had to try it. Feijoada($ 8) is deemed Brazil’s national dish: a bean and beef stew containing black beans, bacon, beef, sausage, green onions, and garlic. It was served with rice and collard greens. I admit I didn’t have to read any further once I saw bacon(but I kept on reading anyway). All the meats brought awesome flavor to this dish. Moqueca($ 8) is a Brazilian fish stew that contains coconut milk. There are options to get it with chicken or shrimp instead. It’s served with rice and tomatoes. Tropeiro($ 8) is another traditional dish featuring pinto beans, bacon, beef, sausage, green onions, eggs, garlic, and yucca flour. It’s a solid recommendation. NOTE: Brazilian House operates out of the old Rockabillies food cart.

It’s tough to be a Brazilian here in Portland. The weather is gray and there is only one Brazilian restaurant. This food cart comes to the rescue by offering fresh Brazilian comfort food that is delicious and authentic — it tastes like homecooking, and can be enjoyed in the Winter months to come! I cannot express in words, the joy I experienced with each bite. The Muqueca has the perfect blend of coconut oil and seasonings which combined with the rice melts in the mouth. You can have it with fish, shrimp, or chicken — I went with the fish + shrimp combo for a little extra. The Feijoada is the perfect Brazilian comfort food, a bean stew with sausage and beef, so rich and delicious! The collard greens on the side complete the true Feijoada look! I haven’t had the chance to try the Arroz Tropeiro yet, but I imagine it tastes just as delicious as everything else. When you stop by, don’t forget to try a portion of the Coxinhas and the Pudim for dessert. These were some of the best I have ever had! This cart really does justice to Brazilian food — everything is prepared fresh, with good ingredients, and dash of love.
