Came here with my friend Kate for a well deserved girls’ day. At the time, Bouffant Salon had an amazing deal of offering a gel mani and regular pedi for $ 38. We were seated next to each other so we got to relax and chat. The staff was very attentive and easy to talk to. My nail technician, Hannah, cleaned and dried my nails, then suggested I do a mood polish (basically, the colors change depending on the temperature of your nails and fingers). Mine were a bright pink, think Barbie’s dream house, when cold and white when warm. It created a nice ombré effect where the tips would be pink with a gradual transition to white. I’ll admit, I dipped my finger into a glass of water on multiple occasions just so my friends would be in awe of my color changing polish. Thank you, Hannah, for doing such a gorgeous job with my nails (and for the nice party trick)!

Best pedicures ever! The staff is super attentive and the service is phenomenal! Love the Morgan Taylor polish line they use too. They also run great mani/​pedi specials.

I loved my experience at Bouffant Salon. I had heard good things but am always nervous going to a new person/​salon. (Disclaimer: I have been working as a hair stylist in Calif. for 5+ years before moving here and have a lot of experience in high end salon life.) Because of my nervousness I had waited until the last minute to get my hair done and was able to walk right in to Bouffant Salon and was immediately booked for a cut and color with Hannah.
The vibe of this place is chic and approachable, cool without being «try-​hard». I was offered beverages (coffee, tea, wine) and just by scanning the room I could tell they employ a lot of talented beauty experts.
Hannah definitely is the reason for this 5 start review though. SERIOUSLY! I have never had a salon experience where I hadn’t immediately rushed home, restyled, recolored, trimmed, etc… EXCEPT FOR THIS TIME!!! I was able to leave straight from the salon, have lunch, do some shopping and feel totally fabulous and confident:)
Hannah not only listened really well, she made sure we were 100% on the same page and delivered immaculately. She takes her time and my foils were clean and precise. Hannah is easy to talk to, no awkwardness, she never left me alone for no reason or looked at her cell phone. She is professional and down to earth. ALSO, she is training to be an educator for Davines so she can teach other people how to execute perfect color results like mine. (Davines: a.) sustainable hair color/​product line from italy b.) considered to the the «Lamborghini» of professional hair care by most beauty experts). She is legit and you can tell that she has passion for this industry and loves making people feel great. She also does amazing nail art and specializes in curly haircuts and styles.
Basically, this place was awesome and Hannah ROCKED IT– My color is perfect, just what I wanted, hair feels fresh and healthy after my trim and I love the product Hannah recommended. I am so relieved to have found my new Salon and Stylist:)

I had a wonderful experience at bouffant salon. Julia was my hairstylist she was waiting for me when I arrived and led me into a super cute, Clean salon we discussed what hair cut to do on my fine thin hair she listened and offered great advice! The cut was perfect added volume and body to my hair! I would highly recommend seeing Julia she is very kind and fun with lots of knowledge about hair!

Usually I’m wary about getting a living social deal for skin care but I’m so glad I did! Nicole operates her business, «Be Beautiful Esthetics» in bouffant and she is absolutely wonderful!
The space is gorgeous, you are immediately greeted and offered a beverage (wine included!) & directed to the room you will get your service.
Today i received a facial and Nicole explained every step and every product. It was so helpful!
She is so personable and easy to get along with that I actually made another appointment with her for 2 days from now.
I highly recommend her skincare services! You won’t be sorry. Thanks Nicole!

I had the worst manicure experience I have ever had here.
At $ 19, it was 1.5x more than I usually pay. (I don’t live in Portland though, and prices for all the nearby salons I checked were high.) The manicure did not include softening and trimming of dead skin and hang nails. There is a $ 1 charge if you don’t bring your own nail file and buffing block. I’m not sure why a buffing block was included, because the manicurist did not use it to buff my nails at all.
While the manicurist who did my nails was nice, she was not skilled at manicures. The filing job left my nails rough and asymmetrical. She did not paint all the way to the edges, and on several fingers, you could see that the 2^nd layer of lacquer covered a smaller area than the 1^st layer. She painted onto my skin on many fingers. She did not give me a fan or lamp and rushed me to the cashier before my nails were fully dry.
My heart sank when I saw the results, but I wanted to get on with my day. However, after 20 minutes of walking around nearby, I decided to go back and request a redo.
The second manicurist did a significantly better job. Unfortunately, less than half an hour after leaving, the polish on my right index finger got completely destroyed when I was putting up my hair. I didn’t have time to go back again. While the top coat they use seems to dry very quickly, you really need to watch out because the lacquer underneath is actually still vulnerable and soft. Several other nails chipped within 3 days.

I and My good friend wanted a reasonable mani/​pedi with a resonalble price prior to a wedding. Not only did we get that BUT we got two incredible girls doing our nails (SaraJean and Julia). The place was clean and busy. Which says a lot to me. The mani/​pedi was everything and MORE. The girls were engaged in our conversation made us feel more than just a customer but still professional. The mimosas were a bonus finished with a great cup of coffee. I highly recommend coming here! You get what you came for and leave feeling very satisfied with the outcome. Than you Bouffant Salon :)

I got the best ombré from bouffant. I always get my nails done here and my regular hair stylist canceled on me day of so I tried them since they always do amazing on my nails!

Absolutely love this place! The gel manicure and pedicure are amazing, the people are great, and the location is convenient.
Only downfall I can think of is the fact they can’t include tip on your credit card. I forget every time and end up having to pay a fee with my bank to withdraw cash. I guess you can say it’s my own fault for forgetting or having a bank that charges withdrawal fees, but it would be nice if they can get up-​to-​date with their technology… what kind of register are they using that they can’t add tip to a card? This place is great, just remember to bring cash for your tip :)

Sara Jean did a phenomenal job on my nails. I got a gel manicure and pedicure and the quality was amazing. They have both lasted flawlessly. You can tell she is very detailed and attentive and into her work. The place is very girly and comfortable, and they give you champagne or wine… always a plus! They had a gel manicure and pedicure special when I went in for $ 40. Well worth the price.
This is definitely an excellent salon to go to when you want to pamper yourself or to go for a girl’s day. Upscale place with surprisingly reasonable prices. Make sure you get a glass of bubbly!

I love the nail techs here. Amazing selection, great atmosphere, great customer service. They offer many great deals without losing quality. I came in a few months ago because if a groupon deal, but I’ve been coming back because I love what they do. Thanks Christina and Julianna for the beautiful nails!

It seems like a recommendation from a friend on which of the (hair) stylists are a safe bet is pretty key here.
I’ve let them pick my stylist for me three times, and while the first two worked out pretty OK (with the second doing an amazing job lifting my hair for a gorgeous ombré which was totally worth the $ 240 for the amount of red/​brassiness she lifted out of my hair in one appointment) I definitely wasn’t keen on the dye job I got done today.
After being told by my previous ombré stylist (3 months prior, I think her name is Haley) that I’d be good to go lighter in 4 weeks I did not appreciate being kinda nagged and talked down to /​basically told that what I wanted was unrealistic today and then paying $ 150 to have my hair toned DARK when I specified my end goal was to go LIGHT!
I ended up with an all over color that’s barely lighter than the ends of my original ombré and told to wait 4 – 6 weeks to try again. Also wasn’t keen on how many products I was pitched while sitting here. Really, Really, Really unhappy.

Bouffant did a fantastic job on a pedicure and gel manicure for me in February. It was so pretty I should have taken pictures, and will after my next appointment there.
At the time, I was a bit frustrated with how long the process took. Longer than I had experienced before. However, after going somewhere else, closer to my home this week, and getting terrible results, I appreciate that Bouffant took extra time, because they were doing top notch work.
I will definitely be back soon Bouffant :)!

I walked in right when they opened on a Thursday morning. I didn’t have an appointment but was greeted warmly by a few employees. They asked me what I wanted to drink and graciously brought me a cup of coffee while I waited for just a few minutes. Hannah came and brought me back to her chair after about 10 minutes of waiting and was incredibly delightful. The conversation was nice and the manicure was impeccable. Her own nails were so cute that I had her put the nail art on my freshly done gel manicure! Will definitely be back!

Love this place! And I enjoy every second I spend at this place. They always do a great job on my nails!

Review for regular manicure: $ 18.
My biggest qualm is the price tag. Which, is my own fault for not checking before booking. So if you don’t want to spend $ 18 plus $ 1 for tools plus tip, then don’t bother. But if you are looking for a splurge and professional mani, this is a very good option. Christina did a fantastic job — incredible attention to detail. And she’s just really sweet and easy to get along with also. (Great if you want to make new friends, but if you prefer relaxing in silence, I suggest going somewhere else).
I’m pretty sure most people visit for the gel manis, as evidenced by «we hardly ever do regular manicures!» upon my request. I think they have a good deal running too, but then you risk getting sucked into a gel addiction (Christina warned me of this).
I also suggest going if you’re into nail art. I’m definitely not, but I saw some of Hannah’s work, and she is a true artist!
So the circumstances I think Bouffant is worth trying: gel deal, nail art, or if you’re loaded and a $ 20+ mani doesn’t mean much to you.
No feedback on the hair salon other than they seemed very friendly. And the loft space is awesome.

After I wrote a negative review for this business, a person (clearly associated with the business) decided to take it upon them self to message me a nasty and hostile comment.
People don’t comment that quickly after I write reviews, pretty big of you to write this. Unpleasant service now immature behavior.

Pretty in pink. «That’s really a volcanic ensemble that you’re wearing» on you’re nails and toes of course, «it’s really marvelous!»
Well, of course it is. Sara Jean does a wonderful job getting my nails to the perfect short length, she cleans up my cuticles and applies the polish artfully and perfectly on my fingers and toes. When the delightful Miss Sara Jean is not there, Jake has always done a fantastic job on my shellac manicure as well.
They are always so thoughtful when I arrive; offering me a beverage. I always opt to drink water much to surprise my liver. The salon itself is lovely with open, high lofty ceilings, interesting art on the walls, and nicely displayed product.
Another great thing here besides the cool ambience and attentive staff is the $ 38.00 shellac mani/​regular pedi. Seriously, where are you going to find that kind of deal at a posh, spic n’ span place like this?
Starting October 1, 2014, you better hold onto your little tool kit as they are going to start charging for it like most other places in the universe do. You’ve been tipped off.
I’m going to call first thing tomorrow as I need a nail fixed. The old polish «will be off like a dirty shirt» and I’ll be good as new in mere minutes.

I went here for a gel mani and pedi. Hannah did my nails, and she did a fantastic job! All of the stylists in here are really friendly and quite talkative. The salon is beautiful and clean with plenty of space. They also have wine you can sip on while getting your nails done.
A gel mani and pedi together is $ 38 and Hannah did nail art on my nails for $ 1 per nail. I noticed that they also do eyelash extensions and sell lots of lines like Moroccan Oil and Bumble and Bumble.
I’m considering getting highlights, and I would definitely get them done here.

Came here with my best friend. All of my experience was pleasant in terms of customer service. I booked our appointments online and called to ensure everything worked, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The entire space is awesome and decked out in frilly girly stuff, including a pink runway basically upon the entry of the building. Bouffant salon is actually in a suite upstairs — it doesn’t have a storefront or anything. Kids are not allowed in the salon, which, IMO is nice because yes, some people do let their kids run around screaming when you just wanna relax sometimes
Our nail techs (can’t remember their names) were incredibly friendly (and funny to boot) and we enjoyed chatting with them. My nail tech did a good job, but I feel like my nail beds are still a little torn up — and that just could be because my nails are in their saddest state to date. Also, my thumb nail’s shellac coating could use some help, but I’m going to go with the fact that the color I picked was very difficult to use. The techs actually cared about the massages they gave and it wasn’t like at the little salons (you know which kind I’m talkin’ about!) where they just rush through your massage to get another client in your seat. My friend paid $ 38 for the gel mani/​pedi special (I think it’s $ 40 to add shellac to your toes, not bad at all) and I paid $ 25 for a gel mani, which is the same price at any crappy salon so that’s nice.
I already go get my hair and toes done at another salon, but I’d definitely come back here for a shellac manicure because the people are so friendly.
