Needed a trim kit for a discontinued built-​in microware. Huck made sure the last one was actually in the warehouse, doubled-​boxed it to prevent damage, and brought it to the shipper that afternoon himself. Now that’s great customer service.

Huck was incredibly helpful. I am not local to Basco and have been looking for a very hard to find discontinued appliance for weeks on line all over the country. Huck kept in touch with me, located the product in Basco inventory and personally made sure it was extra securely packed. He even drove it to UPS himself and shipped it to me the very same day. Huck also sent photos of the box, an invoice for my records and the tracking number for the shipment. I am grateful for his very kind assistance and looking forward to receiving my new product. I am so happy to have this appliance which will match the rest of my kitchen. Highly recommend, superior customer service!

We bought a whole kitchen of appliances from Basco for our new house. Our Fulgar double oven has never worked, it randomly shuts itself off during preheat. I had repair men over to my house on two different dates in July to try and fix the problem. Both times the repair man was in contact with Fulgar and unable to fix the problem.
On July 21^st I called Basco and spoke to Brad, he told me he would call Fulgar and get back to me. Two weeks go by and I have not heard from Brad so I called him, when he picked up he said «what? they haven’t fixed your oven yet?» and then“let me call you right back”. That was on Thursday July 30^th. Brad did not call me back, I began calling him and leaving messages daily and my calls were never returned. This morning I caught him «walking in the door» when I spoke to him he told me that «they» were coming tomorrow and put me on hold for 20 minutes. No explanations just automatic 20 minute hold.
When he came back on the phone he told me that the same repair shop who had already been to my house 2 times was coming again tomorrow. I asked him why he failed to let me know that a repair appointment had been made, and asked him why he didn’t return my calls. This upset him and he began yelling at me, and disputing wether or not I had actually called.
At this point, I’m disgusted with the customer service I’ve received with Basco.
I told him that I wanted to return or exchange my faulty oven and that I would like to deal with someone other than him. I asked him to have a manager call me. I have little faith that will happen so here I am on Unilocal.
In the meantime I feel like I have a new part time job of calling, leaving messages and waiting on hold, to fix my oven.

Customer service on the front end was superb, yet it was discounted by the poor customer service post-​purchase. I used Basco because I needed a European style washer and dryer to fit in my small laundry closet. Huck at the Outlet was very helpful and punctual in responding to multiple calls and emails from me about product specs. Store hours are not convenient, but I managed to make it to the store on Saturday to make my purchase. I was told it had to be ordered and would arrive in about 10 days.
Here begin the problems. No one mentioned there would be a full week delay from arrival at their warehouse to delivery to my residence (for which the customer has to pay — it is not free delivery even with expensive appliances). So the washer and dryer that I was waiting on to do laundry (mine stopped working) sat in a warehouse 3 miles from my house for one week before it was delivered. Then I was informed of a delivery window of 2 hours during the middle of the day, took time off work, waited two hours, no delivery and no phone call. Since they will not install in «tight spaces» I have to pay a contractor to install on top of delivery cost, luckily I was forewarned about this. So. Not. Happy.

A pretty cool store to see all sorts of appliances although mostly we came to see cooktops and ovens. Many of the cooktops are active too so you can test them out. they generally have competitive prices to stores like Home Depot although they also don’t stock all of the lower end units for some brands like GE, which they can order but you have to ask.

We had to get a very particular slide-​in range with a downdraft vent for our kitchen, and BASCO sold them (Jenn-​Air) so we stopped by the show room to have a look. My husband called in advance asking if they had one to see in the show room, and they said they did. So we made the trip down to Portland to see it in person.
When we got there, they did not have one in the show room though :(
Ultimately, we were helped by a floor salesman, and we ended up picking all of our appliances there, instead of at Lowe’s. They price matched a few items that we intended to order on sale form Lowe’s, and we got a great deal on a dishwasher.
Getting to this location was really frustrating using GPS on my phone. Double check the address and actual location before you set out to go here.

Basco is great store. A huge selection of high end appliances that are hooked up so you can try them. We worked with Dusty who was awesome. Basco offers low pressure yet informative sales with competitive prices. We did have one small glitch, but Dusty took care of us immediately. I recommend them!

I visited showroom 9÷13÷14 looking for replacement dual oven. Spoke with Michael Z. We discussed 3 possible replacements. 9÷20÷14 called him and placed an order after reviewing and deciding on the best fit, my credit card information was taken for the entire price. He told me he would call me the next Wednesday after making the order 9÷24÷14, with the delivery date of 10÷1÷14. I also forwarded my contractor information and phone number for the installation. He never did call back to confirm. Does one see a pattern with this company. Great reviews from some but poor reviews and being ignored by BASCO by others. My contractor called and was placed on hold and no one ever picked up. I finally called again and was told my order would not be available for pick up October 10^th. I called BASCO and asked to speak to Office Manager about this poor service. I spoke with Tim Gruelle (not sure of the spelling) on September 30. I explained the entire scenario. I discussed the poor service and lack of communication and the now very later delivery of oven I needed to replace and the promised dates. He apologized for the poor service. I told him that my contractor and I feel that we should be treated the same as any other customer, even if we were not redoing the entire house. He agreed and said he would look into the oven issue and get back to me later that day or next day. He never called back. The next day at 12:30 PM I left a message as he was in a meeting. When he finally called back he said he had been very busy and had not found a suitable oven. I told him to cancel my order, I did not want to hear any excuse. I feel this company only caters to certain clients and contractors. I would be very wary of doing business with this company they are not trustworthy and not dependable. If you are not a high roller and someone he may be doing repeat business you probabably would be treated better elsewhere. Buyer be ware!

Basco has an excellent range of high-​end appliances. We bought our stove and refrigerator, and we were treated with great courtesy, though I am sure our order was smaller than those of most customers. I’d especially like to call out Jenna, who was fantastic on followup around the delivery schedule and my specific instructions about which phone numbers to call, and leaving messages. Also, the delivery firm Basco uses is wonderful. The men who delivered our appliances, Adam and Juan, were quick and careful, placing the appliances in the kitchen for us. Adam was particularly helpful about getting the refrigerator properly leveled on a very uneven floor.
We also got a reasonable deal on our appliances, which makes the whole thing even nicer.

BASCO APPLIANCES did a first class job for me and my wife. We live in a high end condominium and there are some constraints in our laundry room which means a stacked washer/​dryer unit is required.
I did quite a bit of checking around when it became necessary to replace our 12-​year-​old Maytag unit: Sears, Standard TV and Appliance and Maytag headquarters. Sears was a joke — call center somewhere in the USA. Standard was deficient in details re: price and delivery. Plus it was clear they’d prefer to sell something already in inventory, even if it really wasn’t what my limitations required.
Dusty Moore at Basco did an excellent job in pricing and in getting the delivery and installation handled. It was a pleasure to work with him. Even better was the installer he arranged: Ismael from Reliable.
I’m retired, but I’ve built condominiums and apartments in the past. It’s always a pleasure to deal with suppliers that actually perform in a professional manner.
(Btw, I read the few negative reviews below and think that they’re inaccurate in their assessment of Basco.)
If/​when we need any add’l appliances replaced, I can assure you that Basco will get the call.

I bought a new Asko dishwasher here recently. I must say the guidance I received from Huck was spot on. I installed the new dishwasher and I am amazed at how quiet it is. I also bought it at as good a price as I could find on the internet.
As I wash shopping for other appliances, Huck showed me the pricing he could find on the internet to assure me I would have a hard time finding a better price anywhere. The selection and expertise was greatly appreciated. He also is helping me get warranty service on an older appliance I bought at DIFFERENT retailer. I couldn’t even get the original retailer to talk to me about my problem!
I have purchased appliances at another large appliance retailer in Portland. They provided adequate service but I will be a repeat Basco customer from here on in.

As a high end home builder, I rely on Basco for all my appliances. My salesperson Dave is very reliable and keeps me updated on special packages that manufacturers are offering. He knows what I need to put in the kitchen to sell the home and doesn’t under or over sell us. They have a great selection and their delivery service is always on time. The showroom is very nice and they update it often,

I became very uncomfortable (losing trust) with this retailer when I was asked to place a deposit before my list of products was finalized. This occurred after making unfulfilled price requests for products from manufacturers that do not publish prices. I do not recommend this retailer. I will spend my $ 20,000+ elsewhere.

I haven’t actually complete my transaction yet so this review could change when that happens, but I want to post an initial response to visiting Basco. I thought everyone was extremely courteous. The woman at the front counter even brought me a glass of water (I hoofed it there and was a bit windswept). The salesperson (Steve) who helped me was very generous with his time. I even ended up buying an appliance, then canceling it the next morning because I changed my mind about everything and he was so nice it really made me feel loyal about returning.
They have a nice selection of very nice appliances and the showroom is very inviting and easy to navigate. It’s fun to dream about the dream kitchen and my goal in life is to figure out a workable plan for making that happen.
I know I could get everything cheaper on the Big A, but I want to support my community and also make sure I have backup in case parts are missing or damaged. I really think we’ve got to take a look at what things will be like in ten years when all local businesses are gone and only the Big A remains. Think you’ll still be able to shave a bit off your purchase price when the competition has been driven out of business?

I’m not sure what I love most — the Liebherr refrigerator or the bottomless bowl of Tootsie Rolls available at the front desk. The Tootsie Rolls I can have immediately. The Liebherr may take a while. And a loan. And a moment of shared insanity between me and The Bud. Hey, insanity happens. We are reasonably certain if we wet saw an inch off the accidental counter overhang in our kitchen, we can squeeze in a 36-​incher. We have discussed exactly how we would do this…
Basco is room after room of high-​end appliances nirvana — Viking, Wolf, Liebherr, La Cornue, Bosch, Miele. You get the idea. Wander around and let your imagination run wild. Leave your check book at home, at least the first time you visit. If you come back a second time, make sure you are firmly planted in the philosophy of «you only live once.» And then go wild. You deserve it.

I’m the proud owner of a high-​tech metallic red LG washer/​dryer pair — simply because the Basco Outlet’s bargain price bested the big-​box stores by $ 300 per item. I’ve laundered just fine with the standard white GEs and Kenmores provided by rentals over the years, but opted to upgrade when I bought a place of my own.
And oh, how the technology has changed! This LG set is capable of phone phreaking — if there’s a problem, you dial LG, push some buttons on the machine, and hold your phone to its control panel while it beeps and whirrs its diagnostic melody to tech support. But I digress.
Basco’s a high-​end retailer, but there’s a budget option: Basco Outlet, in NW Industrial. Current inventory and pricing is listed on Basco’s website. After I found the items I wanted online, I went to the outlet and placed my order. The outlet items are all in like-​new condition with the same warranties (mine had been on display at the Basco showroom). Delivery was cheap and they hauled away my old set.
N.B. I haven’t visited the retail location in the Pearl and can’t confirm the snootiness other reviews have noted.

This is a high end new appliance store catering to builders. They have probably furnished many a fancy Pearl District condo kitchen and laundry room. They have once a year warehouse sales too, but I haven’t been. I got a dishwasher and refrigerator, good quality but not extravagant models.
To get the best deal a tactic is to first pick the exact make and model number of the appliance you need by visiting the store. Then send or fax a request for quote on the letterhead of your friend’s contractor or architect business. Be sure to indicate that you are sending the same request to the other large appliance suppliers in town and note whether delivery is included.
This allowed me to get a great wholesale price, you are a building industry pro too — right?

The staff were a touch bewildered by the wide-​eyed body slam I planted on my love, the Liebherr CS1301 refrigerator, or the yodels of affection I released in the espresso bar display area, but I credit them with knowing the difference between someone who wants to look around unbothered, and those customers who need their hands held.
Top-​notch appliances in several useful vignettes help the design-​challenged really see how things look in real life scenarios — okay, maybe not in *my* real life would I have an 400 sq ft kitchen area devoted entirely to making coffee, but I dream big then whittle down.
If you’re in the market for appliances, Basco is worth a peek, if only to dream and sing.
