Business Owner

Dr. Shields is a board-​licensed, naturopathic family pracitioner who provides acute, chronic, and preventive health care. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Indiana University and earned her doctorate in medicine from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. In addition to the standard medical curriculum, her studies included homeopathy, medicinal herbs, clinical nutrition, alternative lab testing, pharmacology, naturopathic manipulation techniques, hydrotherapy, and natural childbirth. Dr. Shields has received advanced training in homeopathy, Nutritional Response Testing, craniosacral therapy, applied kinesiology, IV therapy, iridology and injection therapies for pain and dysfunction.

I came to Dr. Shields tired, sick, and feeling like an 80 year old woman at age 25. I had been to multiple western physicians trying to figure out why I was feeling like this, but test after test my results came back «normal». How could my results say I am perfectly healthy when I know my own body? I sat down with Dr Shields during a consult, and right away she began testing! She actually asked multiple meaningful (not pointless) questions and I felt comfortable enough to tell her what I was really experiencing– and they crazy thing was!- She asked questions that made me realized how bad I really was feeling. and some other symptoms I didn’t even realize I had! Sometimes you just become so used to feeling like crap all the time, your body completely ignores certain pains or aches after a long period of time. So at the end of our last visit, and after multiple tests, she concluded that my adrenal glands and their malfunction could be causing the multiple conditions that I had been experiencing– along with a magnesium deficiency. I have been taking the recommended herbal supplements that she recommended. I have also change my diet, and I can truly say I have seen an improvement in my depression and anxiety problems, along with acne and hormone imbalances. I also notice my energy levels have been steadily inclining. I truly believe I am on my way to being a healthy 25 year old. I would recommend her to anyone for anything. The greatest thing you can do for this country today is make yourself a healthy and happy citizen.

I’ve been seeing traditional doctors for problems with rheumatoid arthritis which shows up as constant inflammation in my feet. Dr Shields approach is to work from the basics of your health, where imbalances may be causing problems. Traditional doctors want to just treat a symptom. My overall health is much better, and we are working on the RA problem still. Dr Shields is very good at listening, so if you think some issue may be a factor in the condition, she picks up on that and talks it over with you. I’ve not found that is true with other doctors. I highlly recommend Dr. Shields.
