Aladdin Inn and Suites

I stayed at Aladdin inn in Portland and I was not impressed. I booked through
, and Aladdin Inn tried to deny my rewards nights by telling
that I cancelled my booking, which was false. So if anyone is booking through
, be wary and verify that your rewards nights are granted.
Also, I had to request a room change, as the first room I was shown had a bed with dirty sheets. Aladdin Inn is overpriced and nothing special. It had a remodel on the outside, but inside it is a mixed bag.

Good value for the $
Room 305 was clean. Bed was comfy. Desk personnel were friendly & helpful. I chose to stay here because the location was near where I needed to be.
This is not a luxury suite. Just a room at a fair price.
Near several restaurants & businesses. I could walk to the Greek restaurant for lunch. I could walk to convenience store

Stayed here because it was cheap and close to the city, but got an awful nights sleep here. The rooms are basic, and provide the basic needs of a fridge, microwave, etc. But the beds are the most uncomfortable thing you will ever sleep on. Woke up with a stiff back, and wishing I had slept in my car. And the noise, omg was the worse. All night we could hear people walking up and down the stairs and using the ice machine. And in the morning it felt like our neighbors were taking a bath in our room, the pipes were so loud!
They could really do with updating the p[lace, especially making the beds actually comfy.

Stayed here 2 nights because it was one of the only affordable place to stay on my SF, Oregon, Washington trip. It’s a little outside the city, but took me only 10 minutes at the most to arrive. The daytime staff was great. The nighttime guy didn’t know where anything was and could not give me advice where to look to buy a cell phone charger. Overall, my stay was pleasant. I booked a suite, which had a stove, refridge, and a microwave. They also provided me with everything I needed to cook meals. If on a budget, like me, I’d stay here. But über it into the city if you plan on drinking.

The room was pretty shabby, rust, paint missing from the walls, chipped sink and toilet seat. I could smell the remnants of cigarettes. Pretty quiet and close to VA. Staff was fine. Rates online are high! And claims to serve breakfast. There was muffin halves, OJ, English muffins, yogurt but no protein! Some funky fruit and that’s all I saw. Better than nothing.

Big disappointment
Wouldn’t let us check in early when offering to pay extra. Had to go kill several hours till 2:30pm. We walked up to our room and the door and windows were wide opened with fan on blast which we found to be really odd. Guess they needed to air out the HEAVY smoke smells which were awful. We were told the room was a queen and it was a full. Not great for a 6’6″ person. No hairdryer, and shampoo/​conditioner was pretty bad. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable and old. Outdated giant ugly lamps took up all the nightstand space. They should dump them off at goodwill and spend a little money on some upgrades that take up less space.
Pros:

Cheapest available option near downtown over 4^th of July weekend.

What kind of hotel is this? We stayed in 218, which looked like a store front. The lighting are the office florescent kind. The bathroom had no counter to put stuff, not even a towel rack. Room smelled and didn’t look too clean. The shower was for disability access, so it was a stand in shower. But the floor had no drain so the bathroom floor stays wet after use. I guess it’s fine if you’re running a Tmobile store here, but not for spending a night or god forbid more. Not cheap either.

There really isn’t much to say about this place. It’s pretty quiet, fairly close to downtown and a good bargain. Yeah, it’s outdated but for the price and the 10 minute drive from literally anything you’d want to do in Portland I have no complaints. I stayed twice during my road trip from Southern California to Vancouver, British Columbia. Once on the drive North in room 311 and then on the way back in room 315. I found this place using hotels tonight. The 1^st room had crappy double beds but the second room had a much better one. Free wifi and I think a continental breakfast (I didn’t bother to check it out). The rooms also include a microwave, heater and mini fridge. Overall a good place to crash and I’d stay here again.

Stayed in room 212 on September 3, 2014. As one if the other reviews stated there seems to be a plumbing issue. Specifically, a hot water issue and that being there didn’t seem to be any! Also, there was nowhere to hang your clothes should you want to take a cold shower. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable but hot water (and clothes hooks) would certainly have been a plus. Need to install another water-​heater. Young man at front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our conversations.

You are in for a treat.
And what a treat. Because if they assign you the wrong room (and there are many.) you will be wishing you never stayed here.
Used the Hotels Tonight app because it recommended this nice motel last minute on the outskirts of Portland.
The person behind the counter was on the phone and assigned us a room while chatting on the phone with a friend (room 102 I believe). And he was nice enough to give us the room right underneath the dining /​reception area.
What a treat with loud noises of people walking into the lobby, babies crying, water pipes being open, etc.
Are you really tired and looking for a place to crash at night? Go somewhere else!
Stay away from this place. The other reviews are telling the truth. Shame on me for not listening to them.
For $ 100 a night you are better off going somewhere else.
If despite everything else you decide to stay here, bring a Carpet with you because with the Aladdin name you can at least Use it to Fly away when Things go Wrong :)

Limped into the Aladdin Motor in at midnight after driving nonstop from Palm Springs. I wanted a better place to crash than a standard motel, and this fit the bill. A room with 2 queen beds ran us $ 109 (plus taxes etc).
The sheets, pillows, and bathroom were very very clean. The air conditioning worked but it’s nice outside in the summer :) so I left the windows open.
The checkin dude was also very nice.

Stayed here because it is a dog friendly hotel (one star for that) and also because (according to their website) all rooms have a FULL kitchen. If by «full kitchen» they mean a mini fridge and a microwave, then the pictures on the website are VERY deceitful. On the website, the «full kitchen» pictured is an actual kitchen, complete with full size fridge, sink and counter, even a stove! Hmph. Good luck with that… Upon checking in we found out otherwise. The man working the front desk was nice and tried to accommodate me but was unable to. He explained that they show the most attractive room on the website so people would book rooms here when indeed they only have ONE room with a full kitchen and the rest? Well, your just sh*t out of luck. One star for his honesty. Some have only fridges, some have fridge & micro, none have irons, some have clocks, others don’t, no safes, no folding luggage racks… And the TV’s don’t work well either. The channel will come in for a bit then turn to static. Lovely. Oh and the tub creaks like crazy– feels like your going to fall through the floor– NO JOKE. The grossest thing of all was the blood shmear all over the side of box spring of the bed. GAAAAAAG.
Again, if I didn’t have my dog, this place would have NEVER made my list of «places
to stay» however… Having a dog limits the locations a person can stay with out paying $ 450 a night. Moral of the story? You get whatcha pay for. In this case, this room should have been $ 20 a night. #JustSayin

I stayed here for two nights and I like the feel of this place. It’s got a charm of history to it. It’s a place for a lone soul to go to distress from an active day out and be in the presence of self. Not something over fluffy, colorful, or stuff like that. Just simple, a surrounding forest, and the bit of isolation with lack of grandeur that grounds. Definetly a great place to stay when having a great time in Portland.

If you are not super rich and trying to save money like we were, then this is perfect. I had no issues with this hotel at all. It may not be the highest class, but it was clean and the people at the front desk were helpful and friendly. We have two little dogs and needed a place that would not over charge us. We were on a budget, because we drove from Ventura county, California to visit the rain and laid back city of Portland. Our dogs were comfortable and we were too. Not super high end, but not a crap hotel. I have been to places that I would not even want to lay on the bed, but this place was not like that at all. I am now home and no foot fungus or bug bites. It is walking distance from food joints and I took my dog for a walk in the neighborhood behind and felt safe.

It was late, we had to park our 26′ truck somewhere… looked ok from the outside. Walked in to our room and it was freeeezzzzziinnngggg… had to go to bed with my coat/​hat on. The heat has 2 settings, low heat/​high heat. Shower took at least 10+ min to warm up. The place wasn’t dirty but definitely you’re going to get a better room at motel 6. For $ 82/​night I’d be looking somewhere else.

Reasonable rates for Portland.
Continental breakfast was a bit sparse (and closed too early).
Mattress needed replacement (springs had collapsed at side)

I really enjoyed my stay here. This place was exactly what I expected. It was clean, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and the location was not too far out of the way. Downtown was literally just one bus away. In the front office they had coffee at all times of the day (yay!). I would definitely stay at the Aladdin again.

Looks ok from outside. Front desk girl didn’t know a thing. Hallway stinks and room smells like sweat. Bed is like sleeping on plywood. Can see through crack in adjoining room door. AC works good and shower is hot with good pressure. I’ll never come back. I’ll pay 20 more bucks a night for a clean place to sleep. Beware.

A little out of the way of you’re a tourist, but it’s definitely worth the price. Room was clean, nice, came with a mini fridge and microwave. Front desk clerk was really nice and helpful. Pet friendly and in a decent neighborhood, it is also close to a Fred Meyers for all your missed necessities. Just a couple blocks from the freeway and just a 15 minute bus ride from downtown. Would definitely stay again.

we stayed here the july fourth weekend, for which they were practically out of rooms so what we got was the dregs, a non smoking room that smelled smoky, right underneath the lobby, so we were greeted with footsteps in the AM. at the same time, the managers were nice and it did come with a free breakfast albeit wholly unexciting. However most likely we’d avoid it next time.
