The staff is super helpful and friendly theyare available to be of any assistance I’f you should need help. In my experience of they do not know the answer to your question they will find out for you.

I rented a carpet cleaner that turned out to be defective (leaking water out the back) and dirty (so filled with dog hair, gook and most likely fleas). We took pictures and videos to document the damage. Upon returning it we received the most apathetic customer service from the assistant manager. He offered to credit us back half the charge and with glazed eyes kept saying «that’s all I can offer you». Incredibly unacceptable. We should have charged them for having to get the carpets re-​cleaned from their negligence. This St Johns gem has definitely lost it’s «we’re happy you’re in the neighborhood» sparkle. And all over $ 22! Ridiculous. It’s left a 100x sour taste in our mouths.

I went here the other day, and these people have always been so kind. Everyone of the workers is just so kind and nice and are always willing to help out. I came here just looking for a simple cardboard box, though they couldn’t sell me one, they were able to supply me one from the back recycle. I didn’t even ask for them to help like that, and they went above and beyond into their own power to just help someone like me. I didn’t even pay anything. The truth is, they only want to help us people of St. Johns, awesome place, and a great addition to the St. Johns community!

They had all the weatherization things I needed for the properties I manage. The gentleman who helped me was great about explaining that insulation tape for outdoor faucets was indeed self-​adhesive (and didn’t make me feel like an idiot). It really is the helpful hardware place.

I am so glad ace came to St. John’s. It’s a great store for those items you need to get aproject done. Selection is good and prices are competitive with Lowe’s and home depot. And who can resist the four legged welcome crew?! The employees are always helpful and nice and don’t make you feel stupid when asking a question you feel kinda stupid for asking lol. This shop, or more specifically the employees great personalities, fit perfectly in the St. Johns culture! If nothing else just stop in and say hi to Tanya and grab a free bag of popcorn!

This literally is my neighborhood hardware store. I won’t go anywhere else. They’re knowledgeable and helpful. If you special-​order something, they follow up with you immediately. Friendly… like you’d get from a family business. Good luck trying to get St. John’s Ace’s customer service at Fred Meyer. The old golden retriever mascot is just the icing on the cake.

My virginal experience at my local Ace Hardware was aces! I’m going 5 stars, people! My young friend said he had been here with his mom, and they had popcorn and dogs. Yeah right, I thought. But they do! Walk in the door, and you smell popcorn. Within a minute, I found the dog wearing a manager’s tag! Don’t feed the popcorn to the dogs — that’s a no-​no!
I needed a water key, and a little guidance. So I went to Help desk — which has a cute little name with a big sign above it. I inquired about houses built as early as mine and whether they all had indoor water shut-​off valves. After much FB discourse beforehand, this guys confirmed that many houses didnt have inside valves unless they were later added. So I bought this handy tool for $ 8.99 to shut off the valve in front of my house that looks like no one has touched it since the 70s. Poor valve!
Everyone here was friendly, professional and just super-​duper! What took me so long to go to my local hardware store?

Oh, I love this store so much! Even though they don’t have everything that I could possibly want (like a big box store), they have a really good selection of a little of everything. Above all, they truly have the best customer service.

What a great place! All the little nick nacks n odds /​ends you need. Plus you can get to everything within a few steps rather than needing an air transport from garden to electrical like at Home D or Lowes :(
Every time I’m here I’m approached at least twice by employees wanting to help. Beats having to send out a search party to track down the orange coats…:) some may argue a premium price is paid in little stores like this, duh! Prolly so… But it’s not much if anything and you get what you pay for. Keep up the good work St. John’s Ace Hardware!

We are so thankful to have a hardware store again! After nearly a decade of having to leave the peninsula for every little house project– I am just so darned happy.
Plus, the place is clean, organized and staffed by knowledgeable and friendly staff members.
I have no complaints.

Good selection. very knowledgeable staff… customer service is top notch.
This is a very new store, and as such there is a learning process to know what the customer values, what they don’t. Pricing is pretty much ‘list pricing’ until they figure their market out. But the convenience is wonderful!
If chain store pricing is WAY lower than Ace on any given item, talk to the owner and negotiate a lower price. Bring along a copy of the bigbox web price to compare. The convenience of not having to make that half hour trip to the 7^th ring of hell has to be worth something, but pricing must be realistic.
And yeah, support this store. We felt the loss for a long time when St Johns Hardware closed. Big box competition was part of the cause. Lets not go back to those days.

We have been wanting a hardware store in St. Johns ever since the family that owned the previous one retired a little over ten years ago.
This is not a big place, but it is well-​stocked with a well-​chosen selection of items. The staff here is helpful without being «in the way» and often help me come up with solutions to the everyday tasks I go to a hardware store to solve. Really, when it comes to a hardware store, a big part of the value is the expertise of the staff. Yeah, I might be able to save a few percent on the price of that if I go to one of the big box stores, but good luck finding anyone there who knows what it is and what it does, much less where to find it.

YES! Finally, St Johns has a hardware store again. We stopped in this morning and picked up a few things and perused the store, and I am impressed! It looks small from the outside, but it’s actually quite spacious, and well-​stocked and organized. Along with the fasteners, plumbing, paint, electrical stuff and tools you’d expect to find in a hardware store, they have lots of canning and cleaning supplies, kitchen gadgets, pet food and other necessities for our animal friends, and gardening tools/​accessories. As it’s newly opened, they are still getting some stock in. Employees are super friendly and helpful.
The fasteners section is not as large as Parkrose, but they do have stainless steel and metric stuff, and we’ll definitely be coming here first rather than driving across town when we need some specialty item. And most importantly, we now have a neighborhood alternative to Lowes Desperate for small projects!

Nice to be able to get some nuts and bolts without having to go to far. (like Jantzen Beach or Portland Meadows). Free Popcorn, they just ask you don’t feed the store dog. She’s a sweet Golden that will follow you around the store hoping you accidentally drop a few kernels. Good prices and have always found what I was looking for.
