Tables are close yes, but it is not a noisy restaurant. They are not stingy with their wine pours, the warm bread served in a skillet is yummy but be warned, too much and you will not have enough room for an app and entrée, trust me. I loved the calamari app with Thai seasonings, have had the short ribs, and other cuts of meat as well as the crackling pork shank. It’s a hearty meal so if you love dessert be sure to restrain yourself and not eat every bite. We’ve had 3 of the desserts but the s’mores are outstanding. I love coming here on a Winter night, it is cozy and the small crowd just makes it easy to relax.

I am going to be fair here because I have had good meals here before, usually for brunch. My only complaint prior to this afternoon was the fact that they advertise«warm vanilla maple syrup» on the menu and I have experienced generic non-maple syrup resulting in me bringing my own real maple syrup when I have dined here. This afternoon however was the ultimate insult, and I will never return. I ordered a medium well«fresh grass fed» burger. My wife had gotten it before and it was good. What was served to me was a generic frozen patty that one would typically get at a diner. It was a little over ¼″ thick, rubbery, had no «juice» or liquid that you would get from a fresh burger, and had no color or taste at all. It was served on a very big«bready» bun that was way too big for the size of the burger. People know the difference and do not appreciate the dishonesty. If they ran out of «real» meat, they could have told me and I would have understood and ordered something else. I told one of the servers about this, but I doubt that he told the chef. To add insult to injury, no one asked us how our meal was, and no one thanked us for our business. The waitress was pretty rude. Not a thank you, nothing. They probably had a guilty feeling because they know that they served me and charged me for inadequate garbage and that what is advertised on their menu is a lie. This is not what I would expect from an establishment like this and although I live right down the street, I will NEVER return and I will NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE! If I am going to suffer through your inadequate small annoying dining space where you pack people in like sardines, where I get brushed every time someone walks past me, and where I can intimately smell the woman’s perfume behind me, I expect good food and great service. What you serve now is garbage. I am done. If I am too tired to cook my own burger, I will get a better burger for half the price down the street at Port Washington Diner.

First of all, I’ve been there a few times and the food is very good. Unfortunately, the service is not. I had a reservation there last night to take my daughters out to dinner and we were looking forward to a nice dinner. When we arrived, we found out that they made a mistake on the reservation and only had room for 2 of us, not all 3 of us. The owner was very nasty about it, and not at all apologetic. She just kept repeating that she had no room, even though we had a reservation. She did not offer us any consolation and did not seem to care at all that we were disappointed and inconvenienced. The food is not worth her arrogance. We will not return there!

We’ve been here several times, for both brunch and dinner. Tables are kinda crammed close together, and some tables would probably be pretty bad to sit at(e.g. the one right at the entrance). Food is consistently good — I’ve enjoyed lamb chops, pork shank, ribs, and filet. Smore dessert was memorable. Spoilers: before entrees come, they always bring some fresh baked bread with a couple types of butter, and a little teacup’s worth of soup compliments of the kitchen. Nice touch. Will gladly keep it in our rotation.

If you’re searching for a quiet romantic dinner, Wild Honey can definitely be the place to go. The food is delicious and they have a great selection of wine by the bottle as well as by the glass. Just overall a lovely experience. The restaurant is small, so make reservations ahead of time.

This is a quaint little restaurant on Long Islands north shore. There is enough room for maybe 30 – 40 people in the whole restaurant and sometimes that is the best. The food is outstanding. Their homemade bread that they serve is some of the best I have ever had. The staff is super nice. And they had half priced bottles of wine on Wed when i was there. Great job all around.

I have gone to wild honey at least 7 times. I consider myself to be a pretty avid restaurant aficionado. I eat out at least 3 to 4 times a week and I also cook. this is only my second review I’ve written on Unilocal, and I hope it is helpful. wild honey is an excellent restaurant, the wait staff is professional, attentive, caring, and engaging. I have no affiliation with the restaurant other than as a patron. I find the food to be consistently excellent, prepared appropriately, delivered as represented Bibles the wait staff and on the menu. the drinks are fantastic, consistent, and the pours are liberal. Wednesday is an excellent day to visit as the wine list is half off on anything but the most expensive bottles. the specials at the restaurant are never the type of things that some restaurants try to pull whereby what they offer is what they are stuck with. I can say nothing bad about the restaurant, and would highly recommend but if you have an opportunity to visit Port Washington, that you visit the restaurant. I hope you have a similar experience to what I’ve had over the five or six times I’ve dined there. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so I would strongly recommend a reservation. thank you I hope you have a great time. Arthur T.

Boring and bland. We wanted to try the restaurant. The restaurant was empty but dominated by the employees chatter. The Asian Pulled Pork Timbale advertised sticky rice but came out with brown rice. Mango Chutney tasted like canned corn. They brought out zucchini soup. Tasted like bad dishwater with much too much butter. The Cracklin Pork Shank was not«cracklin». The spices were dull. The Creamy Saffron Orzo had too much butter. ½ price wine was the only good part. We won’t go back.

Exceptionally well prepared ‘common’ as well as more gourmet items. Thoroughly consistent quality, diversity of ingredients and highly informed, attentive service. The atmosphere, ingredient mixtures and cooking styles are robust, comfortable and extremely well balanced.

Sunday brunch review — Wild Honey is a picturesque little place on Main Street that I’ve been wanting to try for a while. Sunday brunch establishments are rare on Long Island so I’m thankful for this spot! Our waitress was excellent. Helped us decide what to eat and checked on us just once(I think more than this can often get annoying). I absolutely loved the cornbread and jelly they brought out before your meal. It’s warm and smells delicious and made me want to cuddle up in my bed. For brunch, I ordered the frittata and my friend got the Benedict, along with OJ. I thought my dish was just okay. I needed to add a ton of pepper to create some sort of taste. I think it needs more tomatoes or some other ingredient because something felt missing. There aren’t many options for brunch, let alone many options sans bacon or ham(not my style), so I am not sure I’d return for brunch. Perhaps dinner…

My husband and I went for brunch on a Sunday a few weeks ago. The tables seemed very close together but it was pretty empty so it wasn’t a problem. The cornbread they give you with strawberry jam to start was so delicious. The taste and presentation of the food was great(I got waffles with green apples and my husband got the village breakfast). Not sure if we would return for dinner since those prices seemed more expensive but we would definitely come back for brunch again.

I had dinner here with my son and two sisters. We felt lucky to get a reservation without planning ahead! We had a wonderful Sunday night dinner. The restaurant is small but it was not crowded. We had the table for the evening. The bread was great! And from there, everything we ordered just got better! We each ordered something different and I tried them all. I would order any one of them again. The s’mores dessert was a little sweet for me, but that was the way it would be expected. You just can’t go wrong! The service is very professional. The specials are interesting and the regular menu has plenty of choices. It could be a little crowded if every table had diners. You would not want to be having an intimate conversation with the next table so close. But we were comfortable talking and it was not noisy. I will be returning here — it is a great place!

I had diner there with my wife last night 6−11−14. We arrived early 5:30 and found the restaurant empty, which was fine by us. We like to go out mid week to have the best experience we can. The experience was 5 star.. . service, food, cocktails… perfect. We had to start Roasted Beet & Brussels Napoleon, New England Style Crab Cakes followed by Blackened Louisiana Catfish, Lobster Hot Pot. Everything was prepared perfect and brought out steaming hot.. .just the way I like it. This restaurant is kinda small, maybe 30 seats, so I’m sure it gets crowded on the weekends, try it out mid week for the best experience.

Be forewarned, Wild Honey is not the right place for those who like an intimate dinner. The table are literally on top of each other. I couldn’t even move my foot without crashing into the chair at the table next to me. The food, however, was unique and well-made. My friends and I came by for their Restaurant Week selection which was pretty great. Before our dishes were served, we were served warm, freshfresh challah with cherry and sea salt butter as well as a small teacup full of complimentary black bean soup. It was good, but I just wasn’t in the mood for it. For my meal, I had the Crispy Pork Belly with Smoked Gruyère Cheese Grits and a Fried Egg. I absolutely love this combination. A fried Egg, although simple, adds another dimension to any dish. I also tasted my boyfriend’s Crispy Calamari with Thai BBQ sauce, Pickled Asian Vegetables, and Toasted Sesame Seeds. It wasn’t your typical calamari. Very tender with sweet & spicy flavors. My boyfriend and I also split the Cracklin’ Pork Shank with Creamy Saffron Orzo, Stewed Bell Peppers & Onions, and Sherry Wine as well as the BBQ Glazed Baby Back Ribs with House Cut French Fries and Spicy Coleslaw. The pork was cooked perfectly and I devoured the orzo. The ribs weren’t mind-blowing but better than I’ve had in a while. I ended the meal with the Warm Upside Down Pineapple Cake with Meyers Rum Caramel Sauce and fresh Cream. Very average. The presentation was lacking. It looked like some pineapples were strewn inside basic angel food cake. The only thing that would deter me from coming back to Wild Honey is the annoying table situation. Otherwise, a great Long Island meal!

My boyfriend and I went to this place Last night for Long Restaurant week. We were rushed from the moment we told them we wanted to do the prix-fixed menu. We had all 3 courses within 45 minutes. People who were seated when we got there, were still eating their dinner/dessert while we were waiting on the check. They made me feel as though we were less important because we went with the prix-fix menu. When I asked the waiter why he was rushing the service he didn’t know how to respond and then brought out the owner. She offered to take«good care of us» next time we come in on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. The slowest days of the week. Thanks but no thanks, I rather not eat at a restaurant with pretentious assholes. The food was good though.

I was so tired of the choices in Port that the first time I had Wild Honey was for takeout. I recognize that this was a strange and expensive choice for takeout, but I could only order from the other restaurants so many times. I ordered the scallops and a side of mashed potatoes. The scallops were fantastic and whatever sauce/hot eggplant salad-like contraption that accompanied them was also excellent. Mashed potatoes were overpriced and bland(I think $ 6). However, the reason for the 3-stars is that I finally got to the restaurant a few weeks later to dine in. I went on Sunday when they had their prix fixe menu. This time, I ordered the fllet mignon(which was at an additional cost, I believe +$ 5 or so). I ordered my meal with a salad that was just ok, nothing special, but not bad. The steak itself I did not enjoy at all, it just wasn’t a good cut of meat. It comes in a blue cheese sauce, which was fine and the portabello mushroom was also good, but just eh, nothing spectacular. My brother got the calamari with his dish, which he did not enjoy(he also did not like his steak). For dessert, I got the berry cobbler, this was good, but again, I’ve had much better desserts, so just ok. My brother got nutella profiteroles, or some kind of nutella cream puff, which had be frozen without question and he said they were terrible– I honestly wouldn’t even try them because they looked less than fresh. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice– very quaint and romantic, but stick to the scallops and stay away from the steak, just not worth the money.
