Hailing as the largest Bicycle Shop in the area (thanks Charlie), the 6,000 square foot showroom proudly features bikes by Trek, Cannondale and many others. The newly designed shop offers a designated women specific area including specialty bikes, clothing, and saddles designed for just us. Servicing all makes and models done right the first time by 3 certified technicians. We are centrally located in Port Charlotte between Conway and Garner on US 41. Just look for the red roof. History

Established in 1972.

This business was originally started by Dave Sturgeon.

In 1992, Kim and Gerard Campanella purchase the business. They started in a 400 square foot building with only used bikes. Their showroom was a front yard. Two decades later, Bicycle Center has grown to 6,000 square feet hailing as the largest cycling superstore in the area.

Kim migrated to Florida from the tiny seaside town of Mattapoistettt Mass. She knew at the ripe old age of 12 she would have two choices in life. She would someday either have to own her own business or become unemployed and a burden to society. Being headstrong and a control freak really didn’t make for a great employee. As a child herself, she ran a children’s day camp for kids from her parents’ front porch. When that got tiresome and her Mom was furiousas to how much food this «camp» required, she pitched a tent and sold seashells glued on wood each day to the people walking to the beach. This all before she was 13 years old.

At the age of 20, the previous owner of the Bicycle Center told her he was going to give her an offer she couldn’t refuse. He claimed that he saw promise in her and he was ready to retire. He gave her a chance that would prove to be life
