Kellogg West Conference Center and Hotel

I came here for a club event and I have to say the it is really nice inside. The decorations for the event were pretty (lot’s of roses) and the refreshments were yummy (especially the brownies).

Came here for a conference and was expecting that famous CPP hospitality-​and I was not disappointed! No wonder CPP has one of the top hospitality management programs in the US! The hotel room was a traditional room, nothing fancy with basic hotel furniture. However, the beds were so comfy and were memory foam! The bathtub was the whitest and cleanest bathtub I had ever seen. Plus, there’s a patio outside the hotel room with 2 chairs so you can look out to the Pomona hills. Loved it! Also, access to a small pool and jacuzzi and fitness room is a plus! And just $ 89/​night-​heck yeah! I was living it up like a queen.
The food was bomb! Kellogg West’s food is not your ordinary bland hotel food or «rubber chicken» plate. Our breakfast buffet was cooked fresh and our dinner was also very tasty, consisting of fresh veggies, rice and rosemary chicken. The service was also great-​there was always a hotel staff member monitoring the food making sure nothing was running out AND they also pick up after you like at fancy restaurants.
This ain’t the Ritz Carlton, but if you’re a broke student like me then you will feel like royalty staying here. Great food, comfy beds, amazing service-​all just a couple feet away from the CPP campus. If you’re not a primadonna and are looking for a quality place to stay on the cheap side, then come here!!!

Can’t begin to explain how amazing our reception turned out at Kellogg West. Between all the help from our parents, families, and friends, it looked more beautiful than I could’ve imagined. This definitely wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Cori! She literally was sooo helpful and willing to do whatever to make sure our request were accommodated and that our day ran smoothly. She is the sweetest lady and we are so glad we had the chance to meet her and have her coordinate the most special night of our lives! Kellogg West was an amazing venue and if I had to do it all over again there is no doubt I would still choose this location! Thanks again to Kellogg, The staff, and especially Cori!

We encouraged all of our wedding guests to stay at the Kellogg West Conference Center & Hotel. It is so close to the venue (The Kellogg House) and is more affordable that hotels further away.
An exceptional value and a great hotel. The rooms are simple, but clean and accommodating. Many of them had been recently refurbished and they looked great!
I liked the patio/​balcony and our guests enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the next morning.
I would HIGHLY recommend booking accommodations if you are planning a wedding at the Kellogg House at Cal Poly Pomona.

Pretty impressed by this place. First off, really appreciate them squeezing our group in for sold-​out Hard Summer weekend in August when I procrastinated and called for reservations in July. Second, can’t beat the price ($ 89/​night on a Saturday night in August).
We were worried and didn’t know what to expect since the nightly rate was so cheap. Pull in, parking’s easy and not monitered. The lobby is actually quite beautiful and receptionists are friendly. Walk up to our suite in a detached building, and from the outside, the building is pretty modern and stylish. The rooms inside are mediocre but they get the job done. We just need a place to lay our wasted heads. Two beds and a patio. Fully stocked towels and little soaps and stuff, but still bring your own.
Would definitely come back again if we need a place to stay for Hard Summer music festival next year.
TIP: Kellogg’s Conference Center/​Hotel is super hard to find. GPS lead us into the Pomona campus, but it turns out that it’s actually on the side, and there are little side streets you have to take that lead up a small hill and are easy to miss. But after the initial try once you do find it, you’ll be solid. Go for it!

What happened that early sat morning was pretty upsetting. We just got married, spent a lot of money to get married there, and we expected to spend the night at our hotel without no complications. We arrived there sometime around 1am and I went to the front desk and asked for my room key. They explained to me the situation that one of the doors was not opening because it was locked from the inside. When I tried opening the door with the first set of keys given, both of them did not work. I called and let them know and they told me to come back and get a new set of keys which I did. I had to leave my wife by herself so I can go back and get another set keys for the door. I tried using the key second time around and one of the keys flashed green when inserted but did not allow me to open the door. I had to call the front desk receptionist to let her know that the key was not working again. Then at that point thats when she had told me that maintenance wasnt coming in until 6am. We told her thats not acceptable and she said shell send campus security over to us to try and open any room that was available to sleep in, which made no sense because Karen had no clothes to change in to since her belongings was in the honeymoon suite room. My wife at that point was cold, did not want to wait any longer, and just wanted to go home (this is close to an hour of waiting trying to get in to our room) we did not expect this to happen after the happiest day of our lives. By the time campus security showed up we were in our car ready to go home.
Whats even worse is when we tried to check out the next day, they had packed all her belongings in her hotel without her consent and had it waiting for us at the front desk. We found that very disrespectful, rude and unprofessional. There should of been a courtesy call to ask what time we were checking out. She had under garments, toiletries, wallet and purse in the suite that no body else should of seen or touched. They were put in a black plastic trash bag which made her feel as if it was trash. Our check out time at that hotel was not till 12:00pm and we were at 11:15am to grab our belongings. We asked to speak to a manager that Saturday during check out but they said there’s no manager on weekends.

This was the perfect venue for our evening wedding reception. We had great food. So many people told us the good was awesome.
Jacqueline is great! She anticipates your every need at the reception. She was great to work with, helpful and so on top of things the evening of. Most of our wedding party and a few of our guests and family stayed at the hotel and we had no complaints. Thanks for making our special night so great!

Very nice property for the price. Perfect place to stay for any on or off campus events. Had a very good experience with the staff who were friendly and accommodating. John from the maintenance department was extremely hospitable and went out of his way to personally direct us to our room when we were lost and exhausted from walking around all day. I highly recommend this hotel.

I’ve visited the conference center portion of this hotel a few times for work seminars. Some of my work peers stayed the night on these occasions, I did not considering I live close by. So this review is only for the conference/​meeting portion of the location.
The hotel looks like it was updated 15 years ago. Definitely needs a refresh. Also while school is in session traffic is harder to maneuver through. The catering that was provided was ok, typical OK hotel food. Not the worst but not anything memorable. The grounds are well maintained, hotel sits in the heart of Cal Poly Pomona. I definitely wouldn’t mind attending work type functions at this location but I wouldn’t host anything here myself.

This hotel is equivalent to a motel. The room was medium size and had all the amenities — refrigerator, coffee pot, iron, etc. The room had outlet plugs in odd places in the room. The curtain had to be pulled across the entire sliding door and even with that it blocked part of the door way. I agree with the previous comments about how dark the room was, I hate to see how dark it will be during the winter (we had full sun with the curtains open and it was still dark). There was a wedding part staying in our wing and they kept us up until I called the front desk. No fault of the hotel, just inconsiderate guests. Be aware that the room door slamming shut will resonate throughout the walls, all entry doors slam shut and shook our door every time someone left or entered their room. The breakfast was great, very clean, hot and tasty. It was a lot better than many of the name brand hotels breakfasts — compliments to the staff. The grounds are very nice, lots of lush vegetation and easy access to the campus. It was great and convenient for us as we were able to visit our daughter who attends Cal Poly Pomona. The price is fair, but remember you get what you pay for.

I would not call this a Hotel. It is only Motel quality at best. While the main lobby building appears updated, the rooms are old and STINKY. Beds are poor quality with a weird mattress topper added. And the pillows must have come from the dollar store. Curtain has a big slice in the middle of it. Temperature control fell off in my hands. TV reception – poor quality. Grounds are VERY dark with only dim lighting at best. Walking to/​from my room felt like I was walking through a dark alley; something I would normally never do as a female walking alone. It’s at the top of a hill on the Cal poly campus. Extremely isolated for someone with no car. They require a $ 50 per night credit card hold to cover incidentals but Im not sure what that is for as There does not appear to be any incidentals available. Equipment in the fitness center was in ill repair if working at all. My room was in an old building; people walking outside sound like a herd of buffalo. On my third night here now and have yet to get a nights sleep without having to listen to guests outside who appear to have no regard for the fact that people may actually be trying to sleep. (It’s probably quieter in one of the cal poly dorms). Oh, and a construction crew began their work BEFORE 6am this morning preventing any ability to catch up on any lost sleep from the partiers who kept me up during the night. At least my room was not located by the cow pasture with mooing cows all night as one of my colleagues experienced.
Positives: staff are nice and helpful. NO evidence of bed bugs. Balconies with chairs outside of the rooms. Free breakfast and I get to go home tomorrow.

This a decent value for the price, and it is convenient when your kid lives on campus at CPP. The basic rooms are motel quality, the 2-​room suites are more like an older resort.
Many items were not operable, the remotes needed batteries, the toilet did not flush right.
The students who work there are friendly and helpful.
The included breakfast was good.
Watch out for wedding party groups in the cheaper rooms. That’s where the low-​end wedding parties stay and they make a lot of noise. On a weekend ask if there are wedding parties and if so, upgrade to the other buildings.
When staying there, check out the Farm Store down the street. And go to Bonelli Park.

I CAN“T believe that this guy used the word ELEGANT to describe this place. Poor Omar may not know the meaning of elegant.
FIRST off, this place is located on a college campus, Cal Poly Pomona. No where in the Orbitz description did it mention it was on a college. I entered it into my gps and off I went. «You have arrived at your destination» played over speaker and I looked around. I saw a park in the distance with a parking lot and a small building, definitely not a hotel and then nothing. A lot of nothing. Hmmm. Where the heck is this place? I saw signs for the college but there was no way a hotel would be on a college campus. I called the Hotel and YUP, it’s on the campus. I had to be directed in since my gps would not locate it.
I was greeted by a college student who seemed too nervous to be working in a customer service position. He was very nice though. He will get 5 stars.
I walked to my room and as I entered the building I couldn’t help but feel I was walking into a dorm. OMG, I am going to miss my first class? Is there a curfew?
I found my room #129 and opened the door. Oh, thank goodness, it’s not a dorm. the room was VERY dark so I turned on all the lights and opened the curtains. STILL dark. oh well.
I was there for a half marathon so I really didn’t’ need much. I do like to take a bubble bath to relax the night before a race. I go into the bathroom and NO TUB. :(Gah!
Wasn’t going to take my chances with room service. I was surprised they even offered it. So I went out to eat and came back. When it was time for bed I turned on the air conditioner (not sure why someone posted there was none) and tucked myself in. At least the bed was comfy. About an hour later the phone rings once. Then a few minutes later it rings once again. I get up, clearly no one is calling me at 10:30pm. I unplug the phone and go to bed. In the morning I wake up and plug the phone back in. The phone rings once again!!! I unplug it. SERIOUSLY annoying.
Check out is noon, so that is good. Not much more to say about this place. Just a random place, really.
TWO stars for being on campus. Weird. NO tub. Dark room. I’d like to give you THREE stars but then it would be «A-​Ok» and it was JUST Ok. Good for a one nighter, I’ll give you that and it was cheap. $ 79 a night.

The staff was very nice and helpful but the hotel its self was just bad. I found three cockroaches running around. The a.c. was not on when we arrived… it was 89 degrees in my room and it took 5 hours to cool off and dehumidify. The breakfast was supposed to have a waffle maker… which is a main reason I chose this place. No waffles. Fruit was warm, eggs were cold. Bread was stale. The beds are really small and not ment for two people. Stains on the sheets. Overall: no sleep, bad breakfast, bugs, nice staff.

Just had my wedding here on Saturday 6÷29÷13 and everything was amazing!!! The garden area where the ceremony took place was beautiful, the reception area was very nice, & the staff was awesome! Cori (wedding coordinator) is nothing short of amazing! We are very pleased with how our wedding turned out and our guests had a great time! If you are looking for a pretty venue that is affordable then this is your place! Plus the food was SO good! Five stars for sure.

I now have had about 3 – 4 work meeting in the main conference room and I must say that this place is a little bit dated. The rooms are somewhat dim, the audio sounds like I am at my sisters quincea~nera with echoes and reverberations. Maybe I am just picky, but if I need to sit and listen to speakers I’d like to focus on the message rather than the uncomfortable surroundings.
The landscaping is solid with a light hint of xeriscaping.

Could have been a 4-​star rating, if not for the following:
1) Arrived on a July evening, and found out they don’t run the AC in anticipation of guests. Arrival temp was 89 degrees at 9 pm. Took 2 hours (of my life!) to cool to 70 degrees. I would have accepted this if it were part of an energy-​saving effort, however, see #5 below.
2) On second night of a four-​night stay, ran out of tissues and broke my one soap bar. When housekeeping fixed room the next morning, they replaced NEITHER.
3) Breakfast on day 2: Watermelon from fresh fruit bowl tasted like onions. They must have used the same cutting board!
4) Lunch on day 3: moldy patch on my dining companion’s roll! Took it to service staff immediately. They did not apologize, just took the roll and walked away.
5) On the 2 days that I did request housekeeping service, despite the typical card indicating they were saving water and asked us to re-​use towels, they replaced ALL of my towels, even those I left on the rack!
6) Was attending for a conference, and spent an afternoon of breakout sessions in un-​air conditioned rooms in the adjoining building. Apparently management knowingly put us there despite the broken AC. I hope our conference organizers got a discount!
7) Poor lighting throughout, with broken lights over the stairwell and walkway leading to my 2^nd floor room. Does not instill in me a sense of safety.
I suppose you get what you pay for, the conference rate was just $ 89/​night.
The best part of my trip had nothing to do with the hotel and everything to do with the conference I attended and the people I met. If not for those two factors, I would have busted out of there much sooner!

I wouldn’t say this is a Five Star Hotel but I rate it a Five.
1) The girl at the front desk was really nice!
2) They had a flat screen tv and free internet!
3) They have a patio outside with a good view!
4) They are evironmentally conscience! (only wash the towels and sheets every other night you stay there to save water)
5) And they give you a free copy of the newpaper every day! NICE!
