I signed up for the Cinco de Mayo 5k for a couple of reasons:
1. close to home
2. cute shirt
3. MEDAL!
But I ended up not running because the organizers decided to move the race time from 9 AM to NOON! Who starts a race at noon?! AND this particular day, the weather forecast was for 95+ degree weather. I think this was irresponsible and dangerous on the part of the race organizer. Fortunately, I entered through Groupon, so I only ended up losing about $ 15.
Also keep in mind that this «race» was really more of a fun run because as far as I could tell, it wasn’t chip timed. Very disappointing!

The Inaugural Cinco de Mayo run was a good time. The course was very well marked. I enjoyed that the course had parts in the shade and parts in the sun. I ran this more as a fun run, so we had a chance to talk and laugh. There were people competing for time and won some nice prizes from Top Speed running. The medals are awesome and double as a bottle opener. they had cold beer, water, and protein bars after the race. I will be back next year.
