24 Hour Lab at Cal Poly Pomona

I practically lived here during late nights when I came early to avoid traffic to campus from LA. It is a great place for someone like me who cant really study at home with a million distractions around, and it is open ²⁴⁄₇! I am seriously glad that this place exists however, nearly everyday there is at least one elder gentleman who likes to sleep there… and snore so loud that everyone looks at each other confused at the possibility of a snore that loud. I don’t mind if anyone of any age comes in and studies but snoring of that magnitude needs to be controlled.

I really love the Cal Poly Pomona library. It’s a very nice modern library. But unfortunately it is not in operation 24 hours. BUT this computer lab is open 24 hours 7 days a week. Sometimes if I can’t sleep because I have work to finish or things to read or study I’ll show up here and get right into the mood of getting things done. I really enjoy studying in this lab late nights.

My review is based mostly on the use of their bathrooms as a non-​student here and occasionally their computers. I like using the 4^th floor bathrooms for ultimate privacy. The bathrooms on the remodeled side of the library are much better than the others near the elevators.

Its nice that its open 24 hrs, but it gets full really fast. You also need your Bronco ID to get in. If ever there is a zombie apocalyse or some diaster this is one of the places I will hide since you can only get in with ID. This place and Costco make great safe houses.

I had to update this rating to a four when I found out that the 24 hour lab will now be receiving a water dispenser.
No more propping a canteen sideways in a dank bathroom sink, but always falling short of a bottle full of briny metallic water.

It IS OPEN 24 HOURS! Well, that’s a no brainer! It is relatively clean, but always seems to smell like food whether that be bananas, Panda Express, coffee, burgers and fries, or sometimes all of those things a once! Yuck, I know. There is Wi-​Fi available just in case you cannot snag a computer. There are two a bathrooms – one for the gentlemen and one for the lovely maidens. Give this place a try instead of staying at home or in your dorm.
Oh, I almost forgot:
1. A valid student I.D. is need for access
2. You can print, but you must need to put money on your account beforehand via the Pharos system, which is located upstairs in the library. Do it ahead of time or else your S.O.L. if or when the library closes.
3. Food is not allowed, but meh, who cares?
4. Study long and hard!

Feel like I live here this quarter. Seriously a life saver when the library closes. There’s a decent amount of people at night/​weekends. During U-​hour this place is crowded though. You get a few crazy gamers once in awhile. This guy was yelling at his laptop once while playing a game, raging… almost recorded him on my phone, almost.
Only downside, some of these computers here take FOREVER to boot up. I think it depends on the computer though but I seriously waited almost 10 minutes for one to sign me in and was about to move to another computer when it finally logged in.

It is seriously super convienent to come to this lab at ANY time of the day or night and be able to do homework. Some of the other Cal State schools don’t have this but it’s really great. And for those who say it’s crowded during finals… have you looked around the campus? No wait, have you looked around at ANY campus? They are busy in the beginning of the quarter/​semester and the end… it’s the way it goes… if you don’t like it perhaps college just isn’t your thing. This is a great resource for the students and I’m hoping the campus keeps it around (at least until I graduate! haha)

This place is awesome, especially for anyone that lives on campus.
I guess the only downside of this place is that it does get cold easily, since the AC is on all the time. But it’s not too big of a deal if you just bring in a light sweater with you.
Aside from that, you’re going to need to scan your Bronco ID Card in order to get in.
Aside from that, keep studying :)

How can you hate on a library open 24 hours a day! ready to serve college students!!! Ive had a lot of sleepless nights here and i love the fact that its in the heart of the campus and you can just go to class after specially during finals time! great i love it here!

I cannot even believe this place was created on Unilocal.It’s a room with tables and chairs. Lots of people cramming for finals pay homage here. As if they will not pass a test without studying here. Can’t knock this place too much, even though it does get noisy here, people seem to make this place a place for group studies. This place is alright, I guess.

The computers in here are SO SLOW. I just come here to print stuff.

Oh yes, the 24-​hour lab.
Many a sleepless night have been spent in this sanctuary for learning.

If it’s finals week and the library is closed, don’t expect to get any work done here. If you want to find a girl praying in the corner, boys using the girls bathroom, adolescents playing video games, and sometimes the cops… then expect that here. You don’t even need to play any music, you can listen to the girl-who-doesn’t-know-how-to-use-headhones-sitting-all-the-way-by-the-front-door’s ethnic jams (thanks a lottttt, girl!).
