History

Established in 1980.

Stoneridge Shopping Center opened in 1980 and has grown to become the premier one-​stop shopping destination in San Francisco’s East Bay area. The shopping center encompasses 1.3 million square feet and is home to five department stores (Nordstrom, Macy’s Women, Macy’s Men’s Children and Home, Sears and JCPenney) and 165 specialty stores and restaurants including top draws such as H&M, The Cheesecake Factory, Apple, PF Chang’s, Michael Kors, Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids, Sephora, Banana Republic, Coach, J. I enjoy coming here for shopping!, yet it’s super hard to find parking!, I absolutely love this mall because it has way more to offer, for example brands like Lush, Vans, See’s candies, etc. the place is good looking, always crowded and there’s wifi available, lots of places to eat, and just in fact the mall it’s an average (not huge like others), but I really like all the stores they have. Awesome!

This review is long overdue, so let me start by saying this is my go to mall for all my needs ranging from clothes to gift shopping and including holiday stops for Christmas and the yearly Black Friday shopping. I have pretty much bought most if not all my clothes here and school shopped for the kids. Whenever I need a fitting for a suit, Macy’s has saved the day not to mention some of the bogo deals I’ve been able to to capitalize on their select suits.
Downer is the food choices, they do not have a food court, but have restaurants throughout the mall entrances and the big name spots like Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang’s.
The mall has most of what you need when it comes to clothing selection, whether you need sneakers at champs, or something special like jewelry you can find it here. There are numerous sales throughout the year, and Macy’s is known for their weekly sales. It’s pretty convenient and close enough to where choosing this location won’t take me too long to drive up. Be mindful during commuter hours, many live out of the bay so going towards the valley is critical around 4:30 on with traffic jams that will last for hours.

I love coming to stoneridge to kill time it’s so clean and spacious! I love that they have so much parking lots because it can get busy especially on weekends. I always park in the upper lot near mens warehouse!

I like this place a alot its super clean and the stores here are addicting! And diverse! My favorite stores are hot topics and game stop…
However theres a reason why i give this place a 4 instead of a 5… i feel so out of place. And the people who shop here seem so… stuck up. Theres some stores that i avoid because they make me feel like im there to steal or something. I will never go in Abercrombie and fitch, wet seal and a couple of others they made me feel like i dont belong. Maybe its my race or the way that i dress, idk butbwill never step into thoes stores again.
Everything else seems great! If you ignore the rude strairs as they pass you by.

The only thing I would say that’s a bit aggregating about this place is that if you’re looking for parking and your current place is Macy’s, but oh-​no I need to go to Sears, you’re not going to be able to just drive across the lot; You have to exit the current lot you’re in and enter the next to their to your destination. Seems as tho every department has its own parking lot.
I’m a city gal and all the malls I have been to, has the same parking lot. So maybe I’m half way at fault too since it was my first time at stone ridge & the heat was making me cranky to say the least. But keeping all the lots separate is not convenient!
On the bright side, they have a Michael Kors department. So whenever I’m being a grinch I’ll just go on over to that store and glimpse at the pretty purses. Maybe buy one purse… Or two.

I like this location because it’s a great location, tons of parking, and I like the stores here.

Danville, CA
My useful tip to everyone is to go around the last two weeks of January (winter sale); I went on Saturday and almost every store was having a sale, not just $ 5 or 10% off, but 50−70% off. The mall was pack, but it wasn’t pack where you’ll need to wait in a line for 30minute or an hour.
Despite the busy hours, all the staffs I met in the stores I went (H&M, Forever 21, Godiva, Abercrombie&Fitch, Mac, Macy, Spencer’s, Lush, Cotton: On) they were friendly and plenty of staffs to help you.
There is also a little food/​drinks areas, but scatter around around the mall, otherwise there outside restaurants too. I suggest not getting the taro from Quickly because it tasted artificial. Oh the vending machine, expensive, payed $ 5 for a bottle Sprite.
Compare to the Sunnyvale Mall, the stores in here is a lot more smaller but the parking lot is the same.

Let me start with the highlights of the mall.
~ Lots and lots of space to sit in the lounge area — Yes, this mall will bring delight to the BFs and hubbies who’ve had to keep up with their woman’s endless shopping spree. They have plenty of sofa space that can come in handy after a long walk around the mall.
~ A dedicated kids play area — The parents won’t need to think too hard about how to entertain their kids in the mall. We found lots of kids having a great time in this play area.
~ Some great stores like the Lego store and Pottery Barn Kids are here.
~ Less than average crowd compared to other malls in the bay area. We were here on a Sunday and it was still not overwhelmingly crowded.
Barring the highlights, the mall is pretty much similar to all the other malls in the bay area. There’s Sears, JCPenney, Macy’s and Nordstorm here. There are also a few interesting places to eat here like the ‘Vitality Bowls’ and a new ‘Cream’.
We found it a bit difficult to find the list of stores within the mall. We then found a mall help desk where we were able to get a pamphlet with the listings.
I also wish they had a gaming arcade or the likes of entertainment spots for adults.
There’s ample parking on all sides of the mall.
Overall, a great place to hang out!

I do like Stoneridge. Between this mall and Valley Fair, I recally going on trips with my family to go these «fancier» malls as our closest malls were both Newpark and Southland. There’s a lot of parking all around. I typically go through the entrance on the Southside near Forever 21. The mall seems to always be clean. I like just walking around the two different floors. It has a lot of the stores I like like Sweet Factory and Victoria’s Secret. I haven’t shopped here in a while, but it’s quite convenient whenever I need to either do returns or do a quick shopping trip on my way home from work.

First time going to this mall. Everything looked so brand new on the inside. All the walls and ceilings looked like they had been freshly painted. They had a huge selection of stores (definitely not as big as Valley Fair though) like J. Crew, Lush, Macy’s, Nordstrom, JCPenney, American Eagle, etc.
The mall had two floors. The elevator in the middle was super slow, not sure why, especially since there was only one floor to go up and down. They had a majority of the stores I liked to go to here, so thumbs up to that. One thing I didn’t really like was that the food places were scattered all over the mall at every little alley. I guess in a way that does avoid overcrowding, but it’s just so inconvenient. I personally like having all my food selections in one place. I don’t wanna have to walk all the way to the other side of the mall for something I wanna eat.
Definitely a better mall than Stonestown and Tanforan back in SF for sure! They’re opening CREAM and Quickly soon for those of you who love ice cream cookie sandwiches and milk tea!

This is my favorite place to shop in the east bay! I come almost every week to shop! Yes, I know I have a problem… I’m a shopaholic!
Stoneridge has all the stores that other malls have like Hollister, H&M, Nordstrom, Macy’s, etc. I have always been able to find things in my size even in the sale sections! That’s a HUGE plus for me since other malls never have my size!
The only think I don’t like is that there is no food court here! There aren’t a lot of options for food if your hungry :(But I’ll still come to shop!

I really really like this shopping centre. Love its architecture and the wide variety of stores and a has bunch of food places too! Buttttt
The parking lot right opposite Macy’s has not a single street light. Null. Nadah.
How’s that even possible? Had to use my phone’s flashlight to find my way to the car. Besides the fact that it’s inconvenient, it’s also unsafe so do yourself a favor and park on the lower parking lot in front of the cheesecake factory.

Typical mall with all of the stores.
Good thing if you are a Macy’s shopper, there’s a separate men and women store.
Also, i’d suggest parking in the Sears parking area, there’s covered parking garage there. So if you don’t want to return to a hot car during the summer, it’s the place to park. it lands you right in the middle of the mall.

Clean, relatively big and has some good stores. Went to the Macy’s– men’s and women’s. Stopped along the way at sunglass hut and solstice, looked at the Nordstrom anniversary sale, and ended up with some much needed carbs at Panda Express.
Lacks a proper food court/​food options. But decent place to go to, without having to drive up to valley fair or great mall.

Stoneridge Mall has a wide variety in shops for clothing, bags, shoes, and etc. I actually don’t know why I don’t come here more often than I should. It’s a lot better than NewPark, which is closest to me. It’s better than Great Mall, which is kind of overrated now. It’s closer than Valleyfaire if you live in the East Bay like me. It’s a pretty good place to shop in my opinion.
There usually isn’t a huge crowd whenever I come here. They have the usual stores including, Forever 21, H&M, VS, American Eagle, A&F, and etc. Prices are average and pretty much the same as their other branches. Selections and stock are similar for those different branches. I think they do have some varieties in terms of stock though, but the differences aren’t too big.
Overall, I do like coming here to shop or to window shop. It’s a decent shopping mall. It’s pretty big in my opinion so you can probably spend a good amount of the day there. I recommend coming if you’re getting tired of the other malls in the Bay Area.

Besides Westfield in SF this tops the chart as my favorite mall. (can you tell I don’t get out much?) Tons of stores flowing with merchandise and always enough parking to spare!
My main reason for loving this place falls on the fact that it has an easy layout; basically just one long tube! Wherever you start, you’ll be able to hit every store/​food place on the bottom without skipping, and then do the same on the top!
I also appreciate this mall a little more because it has my favorite store, Wet Seal. Yay! And of course Love Sac, the Apple store, and the Lego store, who could resist?! I don’t even want to mention the Cheesecake Factory that’s attached… uhhg, this place has me hooked!
Employees are friendly at every store, there is always an abundance of merchandise and food, and unless you come on Black Friday, parking should be a breeze! Enjoy!

Saturday it wasn’t crazy at all! Most of all the stores I went to weren’t that busy! Was able to find everything I was looking for very easy and fast! One of the better malls in the east-​bay!

Imperial Beach, San Diego, CA
Went to check out this mall before going back to our hotel. I love how huge this mall is. We saw a Nordstrom’s, JC Penney’s, Macy’s and other brand name stores inside this mall. I got to try this yogurt place as we walked through the mall. I didn’t see a food court, but maybe we didn’t walk far enough to find it. We saw an Aunt Emma’s and other food places that were spread out the mall.
This mall was clean and looked more modern than other malls we have been to. I enjoyed walking through this mall. I try not to do too much damage at the malls because I already do that in malls in San Diego. I know spending the whole day at a mall can cost a lot of money. Overall, I did enjoy my time here. There were couches throughout this mall, so you can sit down and enjoy your drink, ice cream or food. Cool mall!

Stoneridge Shopping Center is full of franchised operators. doubt there are many indies here (only the kiosks in the center of the walkway?)
no food court present. eateries are everywhere. u really need a map to find what u want to eat. a food court forced eateries to compete on price. absent a food court, it’s harder to compare prices. .
no food court gives an illusion mall is an upscale one. for sure, the prices are upscale at the eateries.

Castro Valley, CA
This has been my go-​to mall when I was in high school and now is the place I’ll come when I need to get out of the house. It does get crowded on the weekends but is always pretty slow paced on the weekdays. Aside from shops and kiosks, there are a lot of seating areas (usually occupied by men and children), pretty good for people watching for those that are waiting and not on the phone. There is also a small play area for younger children.
There are many stores in this mall, from Forever 21 to Lush and Macy’s. Pretty much all the typical stores one can find and need. It’s been a while since I’ve been back but there is/​was a hobby store that does little figures for games but I’m not sure if it’s there anymore.
It’s always the best during the holiday season, Christmas, since it’ll always be beautifully decorated and Santa will be there to take pictures with the children.
Final Thoughts: As stores come and go, I’m sure I’ll always be back here for something.
