Specialties
Guiding players of all ages, abilities, and styles in discovering and developing their own musical voice, Dr. Seth Greenberg customizes lessons for players who range from complete beginners to professionals.
A music educator, professional guitarist, and author with 25 years of experience. Seth offers the following types of lessons to players of all abilities and musical styles:
Guitar lessons for kids (ages 4 and up)
Teen guitar lessons
Adult guitar lessons
Senior guitar lessons (ages 65 and up)
Among the styles he teaches are rock, blues, jazz, pop, folk, classical, Flamenco, and Latin (Samba, Bossa Nova, etc.).
To ensure Seth’s teaching style and personality is a good fit, he offers a free 20-minute lesson to all first-time students.
Lessons are also available to players of other instruments provided that they already have some technical proficiency.
Considering his experience and professional background, Seth’s rates are very reasonable. He also offers a sliding-scale to eligible players.
Lessons may also be taken at the home of players who reside in the following areas around Pleasanton:
Dublin, San Ramon, Livermore, Sunol, Danville, and Walnut Creek. (For added peace of mind, he is registered with the background-checking organization Trustline.org.)
For those outside of these areas, online lessons are also available through the superb free video conferencing client Vidyo. A PC or Mac with a good internet connection is all that is required.
History
Established in 1990.
While Seth has taught at every level of music ranging from elementary schools up to universities; and small music stores to large music conservatories with over one-thousand students, he has also taught independently from the very beginning.
This independence affords him the opportunity to be very flexible with his approach to teaching, rather than having to work from an often rigid curriculum dictated by a school.
He feels that establishing a rapport with players is essential. Players need to be able to trust their coach in order for a healthy dynamic to exist.

Business Owner
Seth began playing the guitar at the age of 11. By 16, he was performing professionally around the Philadelphia area and teaching his first students.
He quickly learned that teaching is as much of an art as playing music. He began dedicating himself to finding the most effective ways for each student to grow musically while making the learning process enjoyable; this passion and steadfast dedication continues today.
Having completed a Ph.D. in Musicology and M.M. in Guitar Performance from Claremont Graduate University, he has taught hundreds of students and has given over two-thousand performances.
He has written two well-respected books, «A Guitarist’s Guide to Chords» (2015) and «Billy Bean: The Life and Music of a Jazz Guitar Legend» (2013).
Seth is also an avid reader, ice hockey player, traveler, and Superslow trainer.
