Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

This place is fantastic! Lower prices does not mean low grade product. The chocolates are excellent! I like their sugar free items, pecan bears, and dark chocolate dipped oranges. My husband and I came here for Valentine’s Day, and the chocolate covered strawberries were huge. We will be back again getting our Easter chocolates. Zama is so nice, he gives recommendations and provides great customer service! Make sure you seek out Rocky Mountain Chocolates when you come to the mall!

Oh my my my my my!!! Just had the caramel apple. Soooo Good!!! Best I’ve ever had. Super fresh huge green apple. So wonderful. Thank you! I’ll have to have one every time I visit this mall. What a treat. My two year old loved it too but I couldn’t stay out of it long enough to share more with him. I might have to buy another… Maybe a chocolate one.

Hands down THE best Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in the Tri-​Valley area.
I’ve been to Stoneridge Mall on numerous occasions however I wasn’t aware Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory existed here.
My husband/​son recently visited here to surprise me for Mother’s Day. haha They brought home:
— Java Toffee x2,
— Toffees (Almond — I think) x 2
— Dark chocolate covered pretzel x2
— Milk chocolate covered graham crackers x2
— Dark chocolate covered graham crackers x2
Quick question on Java Toffee = Is the dark chocolate part suppose to taste like ladies perfume? I got an after taste, which I didn’t like. My husband suggested it was the kind of dark chocolate used. And, I actually don’t know what Java itself tastes like either so makes more sense the after taste was simply the specific dark chocolate used to make Java Toffee.
Other than that, I enjoyed everything else.
Lately, I’ve been craving for a caramelized apple so I decided to experience Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory myself and I really appreciated the friendly customer service given to me.
I picked up the following treats:
— 1 Apple Pie caramelized apple
— 1 Cheesecake caramelized apple
Note: I had the kind lady slice both apples for me. Both were fresh, juicy + had a crunch when biting into fresh apples).
— 4 Toffee (not the Java)
— 4 chocolate covered Cherries (lady said it was $ 0.92 each)
— 1 milk chocolate caramel — yum!
I’m definitely coming back for the Apple Pie + Cheesecake caramelized apples + cherry covered chocolates + milk chocolate caramels. Yum

Another question on Almond Toffees — I was eating some on 5÷16÷15 and these also tasted like ladies perfume. At least, I got the same after taste as before only I became a little nauseous I couldn’t finish the Almond toffee as I was able to on Mother’s day. I wonder would it be possible someone accidentally sprayed perfume onto their hands not realizing this and by making these scrumptious treats somehow the perfume transferred onto the chocolates? That’s the only possible theory I have on my mind however my husband is still telling me it’s the type of chocolate that is used. If that is true, how come the milk chocolate caramels didn’t taste like ladies perfume and didn’t give me an after taste? I think some chocolates were contaminated while others did not. Anybody else purchased Java Toffee or Almond Toffee between Mother’s day 5÷10÷15 to 5÷14÷15? Did you taste anything different?

I was contacted by the owner in regards to my bad experience shortly after I posted. She really apologized and it was obvious that she is really trying to make his customers as happy as possible. I gave them another chance last week and I must say that I was very happy. The apples were juicy and the caramel was just right. I will definitely be coming in when I’m at the mall. I might even make the drive just to get apples.

Love the new owners and the new employees. Not sure how long they have been ‘new’ but regardless, the place has such a better feel.

Wow… I have been having serious pregnancy cravings and this hits the spot each time. I have been there several times over the last few months and I have yet to be disappointed. Today, my husband and I went in and the manager was there. She was friendly and concerned with how we have been treated. The service has always been acceptation. As for the apples, they were delicious. Just note: there is always one bad apple on a good tree

I was shocked to find a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in the mall! Wow!
The lady behind the counter said to me: «Oh, yes sir! We’ve been here for two years!» Could have fooled me!
Watching the second worker put together apples was disappointing, and the caramel apples I took home were just o.k.
Kind of a let down.

Great customer service! Shelby is great with kids, and is always smiling and helpful! Ryan the manager is quick to resolve any issues in a kind, understanding tone. Great creations around the holidays, I loved the halloween themed apples and treats!

Great caramel apples for parties, events. They constantly invent new combinations to keep it interesting.

Bought an Apple Friday and when I went to cut it open on Sunday the apple was rotten. My boyfriend cut his open the same day and his was fine. I’m not to happy with this location the one in San Francisco is way better!

My husband and I were roaming around, spotted RMCF, and made a mental note to come back and buy dipped strawberries to take home to our kid. When we returned, we got distracted by the caramel apples. They had a «buy 3, get 1 free» deal, so we decided to get those and take them to a party. The guy working the counter was very patient with us when we couldn’t quite decide whether we wanted him to slice the apples, and seemed happy to oblige when we did have him cut them.
We also bought a peanut butter bar and some candied orange peels and were pleasantly surprised by the total cost of our purchases. This place will be a guaranteed stop for us when we’re in the mall. Oh, and next time, we won’t forget about the strawberries!

YUM. I got the cookies n cream caramel apple (caramel apple covered with white chocolate and Oreo cookie pieces) and split it with my best friend. This apple must have been kissed by the caramel apple fairy because the apple was crunchy, and its tartness was perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the caramel and Oreos.
I’ve had caramel apples where the caramel just peels right off the apple and you’re stuck eating the sour apple (cue prune faces) by itself. Some people like sour stuff; I don’t. Hooray for good apples!
The girl working there was very helpful and quick. She told me that the apples keep well at room temperature for a few days (and even gave me a tip that putting them in the fridge could cause the apple to get soggy). She bagged & ribboned the apple for me too.
Price: it costed about the same as a smoothie from the place that rhymes with Samba Juice.
I’ll be back for more!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE caramel apples! Almond caramel apples to be exact.
Nothing bad to say about this review except that maybe if they lower their prices they would get an extra star from me. Regardless, I will keep buying caramel apples when making a stop at the mall or if in the neighborhood.

Went here with my son yesterday (Sat). We were in the Pleasanton area and unfortunately, my car over heated so we had to chill some place. What better place to do that then a mall!
We were on our way out when we passed by this place. Off course, anybody and everybody who passes by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory GOTTA stop to see the variety of all these apples. WOW! LOTS! and ALL look so good. I wanted to try the COCONUT BALL looking one, but we decided on the rockyroad. (I attached a few ‘low quality’ pix, but still believable!)
Rockyroad was very good. Get the one with nuts! Pretty chewey but very tasty. They also give you a few wet naps for after eating, oh your fingers will get chocolate all over them allright.
Coconut one is next up!

I have been waiting for this store to show up here for so long. Before they came to Pleasanton, I think we had to go to Concord for my caramel apples. I tried different places, but nothing even came close. San Francisco’s Pier 39 apples look soooo good. So, I bought maybe 3 caramel apples to stocked for the week. After I bought them, I went outside and bit into one, IT SUCKED! Worst caramel apple ever!
I bought a big chocolate caramel apple for a co-​workers birthday yesterday. I had mentioned it was for a birthday, not thinking anything of it and the girl said she will put in in a nice bag with ribbon on it and everything. It was beautiful! My friend loved it!
This store does have chocolate dipped strawberries too, but I think you have to order them ahead of time. So I went to Godiva chocolates and they had the strawberries there. A bit pricey, but it’s not like I buy them everyday.

OMG the dipped carmel apples are to die for. Love the many toppings they offer!

Review of caramel apple, received as wedding favor
My friend Patrick and his wife Annie had THE nicest wedding — so thoughtful and elegant.
Anyway, they had these caramel apples for their favor
the caramel was soo soft and gooey. but divine!
and the green apple was perfectly tart and hard. not mushy
impressive!

a very small and quaint chocolate shop that is unfortunately located inside stoneridge mall. i’m not a fan of the mall these days but i will sneak in and out any day to get my sweet tooth fix.
they are famous for some of the best tasting caramel apples i have ever had and come in a variety of flavors, ranging from «death by chocolate» and «heath candy bar explosion» to plain caramel and red candy-​coated. they also offer many varieties of fudge, truffles, dipped orange peels, fruit fondue cups, chocolate covered potato chips, coffee and frozen bananas. on certain occasions they offer cashew brittle as well and i suggest you buy some whenever they sell it.

Rocky Mtn just opened up in P-​town & I couldn’t be happier! Used to savor their delicacies when I lived in VA & was stoked to find 1 in Gilroy (at the outlet mall) when we moved out to CA but thought it was a travel-​kind-​of-​thing we’d have to look forward to when going on a roadtrip
Boy, it was just like Christmas all over again when we happened upon this little chocolate piece of heaven the other weekend & right next door in the East Bay, too.
Chocolate-​Macadamia-​Bears are the absolute bomb!!! Ginormous slab of caramel w/​huge hunks of Macs & all covered in milk chocolate.
I can also hugely recommend their warm, White-​Chocolate-​Macadamia-​Nut-​Cookies…
Have to say the Chocolate-​Dipped Apricots are better at Scharffen Berger & this place is not the utmost gourmet, fru-​fru chocolate in the land. But when I think of «comfort» chocolate, this is the place that totally comes to mind!
