A historic landmark indeed this place is. Plaquemine, LA is small town circa 1775 and it’s quite quaint and has some beautiful historical sites. The locks has been the home to several town festivals and is a picturesque place for family photo shoots and even bridal/​wedding shoots. My family and I used to come here to bring my daughter to bike ride and check out the levy to the Mississippi River. On a beautiful day, come on out here for a picnic or take a stroll around the grounds. During the holidays, they decorate it with lights and primp it up really nice for the public to enjoy and feel the Christmas spirit. It’s also sort of an entryway to the town is also very close to the ferry crossing.
