Simply Fit Meals

You won’t get results from just working out. You have to also change your diet, and for someone like me that loves gas station tacos, whataburger, curry, and just about anything that is unhealthy is hard.
I was skeptical about fit meals at first… I thought you had to give up good tasting food to get better results, but this place proved me wrong. I got their spicy Thai basil turkey and it was so delicious! I also got some of the chocolate vegan cookies and I must admit that I don’t think I’ll ever go back to regular cookies (they need some chocolate chip ones though).
The meals are good and tasty, but it is a bit expensive and it can get really expensive if you plan to eat their stuff for every meal.
Definitely a must try for someone looking for inspiration to meal prep or for someone who is looking to have a good lunch that doesn’t make you regret it later

Tried two meals there so far. The rosemary beef was just okay. The meat was a little overdone considering that it has to be reheated. On the other hand, the chicken parmesan was pretty good, with three large pieces of chicken and lots of broccoli. The tomato-​cheese sauce was tasty. These kinds of meals are not gourmet by any means, but they fill the niche of healthier alternative to fast junk food.

I’m sorry but they get a one star for not conveniently listening ingredients, ingredients are NOT clear on the menu & incomplete, & they are not listed on the packages either which makes no sense, it is SO VERY frustrating for people who have gluten, dairy, soy etc. allergies to not list your ingredients plainly & clearly on the label, sorry can’t deal with this, I’ll go elsewhere or just cook on my own

Came in on Sunday and ordered the 3 day juice cleanse for Wednesday pick up. Just went to pick it up and they did not make it!!! I paid $ 150 for this and it was not ready as promised!!! Not very good customer service, not a happy customer!!! Now I have to wait until Sunday to pick it up so I can’t start the cleanse until Monday.

For my weight loss program, I am doing a mixture of Simply Fit and My Fit Food meals for several of my meals throughout the week. Below are my likes/​dislikes:
Likes:
1) Several of the meals are pretty darn tasty. Favorites are: Ham/​Cheese Frittata, Chicken Parmesan, Banana Walnut Waffles, and the Chicken Tomatillo.
2) Nice staff
3) Dates on the containers make it easy to know when to eat them by.
4) Discounts if you add a bulk amount to your house account.
Dislikes:
1) You can’t order online everyday. You have to order on certain days for specific day pick-​ups.
2) You can’t order online unless you have a house account.
3) Price variance and value between 5K and 10K. For the value, I want to buy all 10K, which almost defeats the purpose of the smaller portions.
4) Sodium is not as managed as some other prepared food places.
5) NO PICTURES! Either online, on their brochure, or in their stores. You have no idea what the food really looks like until you cook it.
6) Not a huge variety. I wouldn’t be able to eat all of my meals from this place on a weekly basis. Hence, my variety coming from My Fit Foods, as well.
7) Vegetables are pretty under-​cooked for my taste, even after extra microwave time.
8) No easy way to look at the menu online… you have to download their super weirdly shaped menu with tiny print.

like the food, helps me to lose weight, about same price as the other premade meal place but i feel like a get more for my money here.
i like the breakfasts and diners, also location is quick in and out.

Breakfast at simply fit meals was just what I needed perfect balance of low carbs and high protein. The ham & cheese Frittata is now my new favorite early morning meal on the go! Couple of drops of chilli sauce for a little spicy kick.

I just ordered the 3 day juice cleanse. The lady working when I went in to pick it up was very friendly.
I had my first 3 juices today (6 per day) and they are so good! Lots of times the veggies can be overpowering. The kale was balanced perfectly with the cucumber for the glow juice. If you like juicing, I would recommend for sure!

A great place to buy prepackaged healthy food; their assortment spans different types of healthy diets so anyone looking to for a filling and healthy meal will be able to find something that they can eat. The meals are decently priced based on what’s in them and are very filling. Staff is very nice and helpful.

Overall I find the food quality and service very good. Too bad there isn’t 3.5 stars because I think they’re better than a 3 but not quite a 4. When they are stocked adequately, you have tons of choices, all good IMO. I eat between 5 and 10 meals per week from there and can definitely tell that I’m leaner and my energy levels have improved.
The only downside for me is that if you place your order online for later pickup, they don’t do a good job of spreading out the expiration dates to last the time needed to finish the meals. I ordered 7 or 8 meals to be picked up on Friday. When I arrived, all the meals expired by Sunday. I think they try to pawn off some of the older meals before they expire when you order online. No big deal, I just don’t order online anymore just show up and pick out my own meals.
That being said, I think they do a good job and will continue going there in the future.

I purchased the Groupon that gives you 3 meals a day for 4 days for $ 49. My roommate bought it with me in January as they were opening a Hillcrest location soon which was delayed to February. The end of February rolled around and we saw that it got delayed to March. I’m not super patient so I figured I’d give it a shot and see if they’d be willing to go an extra 0.9 miles out of their typical 10 mile free delivery area which they didn’t push back on at all. Patrick was wonderful at communicating via e-​mail when he figured out he would be running a little late at the 4−6pm delivery window given as well. There were a ton more options than shown on the menu online which as a pleasant surprise, but also left you guessing what what the ingredients, sauces, side items might be.
Yay!
Sicilian Kale with Turkey (one of my top 3 favorites for the week and also my first dish to try which gave me a great first impression of the food)
Shrimp Diablo — 5 to 6 plump and delicious shrimp with a slightly spicy sauce I believe over quinoa. This may have been my favorite
Balsamic Salmon — perhaps the most tender, moist (ick, hate that word) Salmon I’ve ever had in a reheatable sense. The side item is edamame style green beans though, or perhaps they were snap peas, so keep this in mind if you don’t like these sides as there isn’t a description online). I loved this dish.
Spring Chicken Salad — I thought this was yummy albeit a bit plain, but I was starving within a few hours.
Breakfast yays: Ham and Cheddar Frittata

Cowboy Quinoa Chili — Quinoa is maybe my favorite grain in existence and I admire the creativity… but my taste buds just didn’t get on board.
Besides the Ham and Cheddar Frittata’s, I didn’t really love the breakfast items I received (Breakfast Americana, Huevos Rancheros, Chipotle Steak and Eggs — actually this one was okay…). I know it’s just cause I’m comparing to MFF because their breakfast is one of their best categories to me.
The other items I got I can’t really remember if they were good or bad, if that says anything: Chile Real, Fit Picadillo, Crispy Chicken Tenders (def not crispy though, but I didn’t actually expect them to be via microwave warming).
I hate to make the comparison as I’m sure everyone does, but overall I’d say that I like My Fit Foods more but would definitely be willing to swing by at the least for the 3 dishes I liked best and to try a few new ones once Hillcrest opens. Great customer service and I’m very appreciative of the Groupon offer!

I honestly haven’t eaten anything here I haven’t like.
Breakfast sandwich, you would never guess it was low cal/​fat.
Huevos Ranchero, super yummy mexican egg breakfast
Chicken Parm, so good.
Chimi Steak, put the remaining chimi sauce on your veggies. Yum.
Quinoa Chili, a nice change up to your typical chili.
Southwest Protein Bowl, turkey, spicy tomato sauce, and veggies.

Groupon: 5 meals (5K size) for $ 19
1. Chicken Parmesan — 308 cal, 13 g fat, 27 g carb, 25 g protein, 3 g fiber, 961 g sodium — This looked smaller than it was. Served with a side of fresh broccoli. Timing (2 min) was perfect for heating it through. Broccoli was plain, but I like broccoli so it was good. The chicken was pounded thin and breaded with just enough sauce and cheese on the top piece to be shared on the bottom piece for additional flavor. The breading itself was not the best and did not crisp like a freshly prepared chicken parm does, but it was still good and better than lean cuisine quality.
2. Turkey Mac & Cheese — 402 cal — This again seemed to be more food heated up than it appeared refrigerated. There was plenty of ground turkey in there and it had a great flavor. Not a traditional «mac ‘n cheese» cheddar flavor but still yummy. I wasn’t a fan of the noodles in this dish and it wasn’t super creamy, but it’s a good healthier version and gives you some cheesiness in a diet situation.
3. Shrimp Diablo — 246 cal — There were 6 big shrimp in here (tails removed) along with some quiona and covered in a marinara sauce. I wasn’t a fan of the sauce and felt that there was too much of it to go around. I was satisfied with the shrimp for dinner after a run.
4. Beef Bolognese — 341 cal — whole wheat pasta with beefy, meaty marinara and some English peas on top. Tasted like reheated spaghetti. This is not a meal I’d order again, but possibly something I’d make myself.
5. Southwestern Protein Bowl — 296 cal — I wasn’t sure what this was going to be when I ordered, but I was pleasantly surprised. The dish that was the least appealing looking to me turned out to be my favorite of the 5! The dish had ground turkey and rice with black beans, bell peppers and zucchini. There was a good bit of heat and spice on this dish mixed with some fresh herbs. Definitely a filling meal.
Overall, I wouldn’t continue to order here on a weekly basis for all meals, but would love to be able to pick up some one-​off meals every now and then. It’s nice to know you’re not going to be over-​eating when you’re trying to keep or trim your figure.

I took a break from eating these meals for a few months as I got burnt out on my favorites. I started purchasing the meals again probably around last November. There’s been some needed changes as far as the meal selections. My new favorites are the Sicilian Kale with turkey and the ham and cheese frittatas. My husband loves the chimi steak. My old faves are still available e.g. chicken tenders and huevos rancheros. They also have a few low carb meals available.
At times there may be some inconsistency with the taste of some of the meals, but overall, I enjoy them. I just keep in mind why I am eating the meals which is normally to shed a few pounds. These meals are quite tasty for what their intent is.

Simply Fit Meals, in a word, is mediocre.
I used a groupon which gave me the opportunity to try four breakfast meals and eight entrees. Of the 12 meals I had, two I would eat again, three I might eat, but would have to have to tweak a little, four were just okay, and three I hope to never have to eat again (two of which I threw away after a few bites).
After receiving the groupon, I followed the instructions and was directed to the online ordering page. There were no descriptions, so I opened another window and pulled up the menu posted on their website. Several of the meals on the menu were not included in the list of choices and several of the choices were not listed on the menu. So, I had to wing it on some and hope for the best.
Breakfast: The French toast and pancake breakfasts were both okay. I discovered that those types of foods just don’t work well re-​heated. The Breakfast Americana, one of the meals I tossed before finishing, was OVERLOADED with pepper. The Huevos Rancheros described as being served with «spicy black beans,» was anything BUT spicy.
Entrées: The much lauded Turkey Mac & Cheese was good. Not great. The vegetables included with most of the entrée’s were generally undercooked. The spicing was inconsistent.
They need to either change their recipes, better train their kitchen staff, or both.

Bottom Line: Not worth the money

I thought I would get a couple items at Simply Fit and then compare with My Fit Foods to see who had better food, pricing etc.
This place will most likely not make it because they are charging more for certain items that is crazy and the entire place just didn’t set well with me esp after I compared the two places
For sure just go down the street

Having learned about My Fit Foods in Boise, ID, I thought I’d give these folks a try. young couple running the place from what I can see, the meals are ok, but honestly, the flavors are lacking. I do note that they’re heavily peppered vs. balanced seasoning.
Go further North on Preston and find the Frisco My Fit Foods, you won’t be disappointed. I have been to this location as well as the one in Boise, ID and they’re consistent. Good food, good value and overall good quality from Simply Fit’s primary competitor.

One of my friends recommended I try Simply fit since I did not cook and I needed more healthier eating options, All of the meals are pre– proportioned and are cooked fresh, you just pop them in the microwave for two minutes. I decided to sample one of their items. I tried the tomato basil soup which was amazing, one of my other favorite dishes is the turkey mac and cheese. I took part in the 20 day challenge. for the challenge you would loose 10 pounds in 20 days. After I completed the challenge I ended up loosing 13 pounds in 20 days with exercise. I really did like this place but the small food options get you burnt out.

I love the concept of freshly made/​no processed meals available at the tip of your hands without you having to turn the oven or stove on. I found out about this place after a 5k I had done, and they were giving out free passes to try out their meals. I set the coupon aside and totally forgot about it until a groupon came up. Of course, I had to buy it because I was always curious to see what this place was about. After purchasing the groupon, you order online the 5 day meal plan, and then you go into the store to pick it up. I’ll admit, the first time I tried simply fit, it was NOT good, and everything I had was either too dry or just plain boring with no flavor. I’m Indian, I expect cayenne or red pepper poured all over it to make it spicy. I went on strike with Simply Fit for a while, and then some friends said they revamped their menu. I tried it again, and they were sure right! Everything was remade and new recipes were rotated out. The one thing I like about this place is customer service, they HEAR what customers rant and rave about, and if there are complaints, they will redo their menu. The people here are nice and always helpful. If you are on the go, grab a meal and just heat it up in the microwave.

Roccan’s Beef Tagine (reminds me of beef curry)
Turkey Mac N Cheese — this was one of the ones they improved on

I was very skeptical about this place. The fist that comes to mind is nutrisystem and the like. This is NOT that. I know there are some other places that kinda do a similar thing (diet gourmet and there’s another), but this is on the NEXT LEVEL!
Me: I’m a busy guy and time isn’t always on my side. I like to eat out but want to have a healthier option, while still maintaining taste. They have done it all for you. They did the shopping, the preparation, the cooking and packaging. All you have to do is pop your FRESH meal into the microwave, and about 2 minutes (depending on meal), you have a ready to eat, dietitian approved, portioned and did I mention TASTY meal! As much as I spend eating out, this has great value, not to mention the time I saved. Being fit and leading a pretty healthy lifestyle is not always easy, but now I can take it to the next step.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still eat out, but def not that much. The staff here is helpful and you can save money by opening a house account (lunch card). It never expires. I’ve already noticed some changes in my body (leaning).
ALL breakfast options are great. There are some dishes that are a little bland (I’m Indian, you know how we like our food) and there are some dishes I really like over others. You can always flavor your dish if needed. But surprisingly, the majority of these meals haven’t needed any of that. All meals have nutrition info labeled on them!
It’s all pretty affordable, organic or from local farms. Cheaper than eating out. The food is NEVER frozen and if your really starving (as I have been), you can heat your meal there and hang out.
