Plano Power Equipment

History

Established in 1962.

Plano Power Equipment started out in 1962 as Plano Motor Mart in the old Inter-​Urban railroad station on 15^th Street, a block from old downtown Plano. After a few years, we expanded into a little two-​door garage at one end of the building next door. The other end was occupied by a bicycle shop. Plano was a lot smaller then. As Plano grew, so did we. The bicycle shop moved out and we quickly filled up the new space with our ever-​growing inventory. Our customer base was growing, too. Our reputation for quality products and good service brought us regular customers from Richardson, McKinney, Sherman, Dallas, Fort Worth, and even Oklahoma. They would drive past three or four of our competitors on their way to do business with us. By 1986, business had far outgrown our old name and location. We changed our name to better describe what we offer and then packed up and moved, lock, stock, and barrel to our present location on the highway.
