Half Price Books Preston Towne Crossing — Plano, Texas — Buy and sell new and used books, CDs, LPs, DVDs, comic books, textbooks, magazines, electronics, games, nostalgia, stationery and more!
Good variety of books, always quiet in here. I come with my 2 y.o. and it’s like a library for him while I shop for books. Usually I leave with 7 – 10 books under $ 60… Can’t complain on a price, plus most of the books are brand new

This place is lovely. The perfect place for a book lover to come in any time of day to get lost in a pile of books and find your new favorite ones to buy. The employees seem to be at ease and happy, making the environment feel really comfortable and like home. This is by far my favorite Half Price Books location.

I love going to half price books! They always have such a great selection for amazing prices. The books are also well kept. I wish there was more seating available. But other than that, I love it! The location is extremely convenient as well.

This store offers more than just books. There is stationary, cards, toys etc. and all at reduced prices. I take my old books there after I’m finished with them and usually make enough to buy new old books. If you love to read this is the place to get your books.

The staff is friendly and works hard to keep the titles organized; which is hard to do when the public has their hands all over the books, records, etc. The space is always clean and has a decent inventory for a smaller HOB store. I always enjoy going there.

This half price books is wonderful! They always have a very large selection of books, CDs, DVDs, and even vinyls! They have both new and used options for almost all items, including vinyls. If you want to sell something, you can take your things to the back where the staff will give you an appraisal. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I love to stop by here when I need to pick up some new books or records. If you’re in the area and need a book, definitely stop by!

This half priced books has a HUGE selection. All the employees are exceptionally helpful and(surprisingly) know where everything is off hand. I’ve been to other HPB where employees aren’t sure where specific authors are located and have a limited supply of certain novels. They’ll spend 15 minutes running you around the store trying to find what you’re looking for. At this location I asked for a very specific author and an employee took me right to the section(no wandering around or guessing). This HPB also has a great clearance section. Ive found a number of gems while rifling through the stock(new, less than a year old, barely used textbooks for $ 1). It’s also great that this place is located around the corner from my house. Glad they opened this location!

I have made the switch over to getting mostly digital books on my I-Pad or Kindle paperwhite but when I do need a hard copy of a book this is the first place I look. I appreciate this place because I can find some very good deals here on books that I would have paid 4x the amount for at a book store that sells brand new books. It is also very fun to come here to browse around if you are in the area and have thirty minutes to kill. For used books this is about as good as it gets. I encourage you to check out the clearance section, sometimes you can find some very good books there for a dollar or two.

This location is great and definitely my favorite. Good selection(but not in such a popular location that it’s really picked-over) and the staff are friendly. Nice place to sit and browse, especially with coffee from Global Peace Factory in the same plaza!

I love any and all HPBs! The small, the large, the old, the new… this location being on the bigger side. Some offer better selections than others, but that’s half(hum) the fun. I can, and have spent, hours in the store before. Always leave with a small stack of books. I especially find that HPBs is a really good place to purchase language learning sets e.g., Rosetta Stone. If you find what you’re looking for, the prices can’t be beat! One negative: Have NEVER had a good experience with their Buy Back program. There is always a significant wait(and you can’t leave the store) and despite the quality or relevance of the books I’ve «sold» the money they give you is next to nothing. For example, One time I took in 3 large boxes of various books and received $ 10. Another time i took in the entire collection(13 books) of Sookie Stackhouse(Charlaine Harris) books(True Blood) — which are in high demand — and they offered me a whopping $ 13. I will continue to buy, but I think I will donate my books to an organization in the future instead of selling them to Half Price.

HPB is a great place to go and explore and see what you can find. They have books as well as Dvds, Blu-Ray, Cds, and even Vinyl! I really wished that I had a record player when I saw an LP of Salt-N-Pepa. The selection is vast, and of course varies by location. Personally I like to go and look for movies that I have not seen in a while. This includes box sets of tv series. The best part? The prices. I have bought movies for $ 5.99 a piece. You can also bring your items that are in decent condition.

I like this new location a lot, it’s pretty spacious and there’s a lot of books. I always find a couple of books every time I go, and they’re always very cheap, especially the older paperbacks. But if you’re going in with a specific book in mind be warned they may not have it, but they have plenty of other great books. And if you can’t find it in the store try ordering it online, at the half price books website. That’s what I did I was looking for the Trial by Franz Kafka, but couldn’t find it in the store. So I looked it up in the half priced books data base and found it online for .99 cents!

Psyched this place is near me! I love to read, but I became a little horrified at how much I used to spend on something I read once, then have it sit on my shelves or give away. Here, books are half the regular price and often much cheaper at just a few bucks, some I’ve even seen marked as low as $ 1. This place is awesome. True, they won’t have everything, but I was shocked to see how many good books they do carry. I always end up buying at least 2 or 3– and have to remind myself that yes, I can always come here again, and to put the others back because I don’t need like, 5 right now… You can go wild in here. They sell lots of interesting stuff, from posters, to wall art, to even music and vinyl records. Love the look of the inside, like an old used book store.

I was heartbroken when I learned that MY Half Priced Books has closed… How dare they close without consulting an occasional customer. Fortunately, they set up shop a few miles away with a store that has much more space, better parking, and expanded selections of most everything. While not huge, I enjoyed the selection of vinyl records as I don’t remember the old store having nearly as many. The only down side with the new location is that you have to relearn where very thing is… I’ve gotta remember that architecture is a sharp left from the front.

I’ve always been a fan of Half Priced Books. Everything is so expensive nowadays and most of the time it’s not worth regular price. This place is a great way to explore new genres because books can cost as little as ONE dollar! How freakin’ awesome is that? I can probably find a dollar worth of coins in my room. Anywho — location is near REI and Trader Joe’s. Ample parking and the place is very clean. I usually come out with at least 2 books and am always tempted to buy more, but I gotta wait until I buy a huge bookcase to display ‘em all. They also got a great selection of magazines and my favorite — cookbooks!

Why pay more? When you can buy the same gently used book for pennies on the dollar!
