Fry’s Electronics

If I could give negative stars I would. I called to find out why I hadn’t heard if my «in store» pick up was ready. Customer service could NOT look up my order with the «order number». When I arrived to pick up a computer I had ordered on line for «instore pick up only» They didn’t have it. The staff was rude, I was on my lunch break and had limited time so I didn’t take the time to haggle or give the manager my thoughts.

Website says they have it in stock… nothing in stock… just a waste of time and bs! Hire an it guy for your website and analytics

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!
Went to fry’s to buy a laptop and was sold one for $ 599 and was told that was with a keyboard. Got home to find no keyboard. Drove back to store and was told «oh sorry yeah that price doesn’t come with keyboard» oh and «we don’t carry these keyboards anymore» So sales man says we will refund whole purchase and then we noticed I was overcharged. Sticker next to laptop said $ 489.00 so he says «oh i’m sorry we will refund all of this» mind you I have to have two separate payment methods due to there financing is 12 mths interest free on laptop not warranty so was told put warranty on another card so that the interest goes just on warranty not on laptop. because they cant guarantee I wont be charged interest on laptop as well if warranty is put on same card. OMG!!!
So Salesman refunds my money but it’ll take 5 business days. So he offers me an open box laptop and tells me keyboard can be purchased through website. Ok so here I go again I buy used laptop on Fry’s card they put warranty also on Fry’s card I tell them no put warranty on other card as to not confuse what is interest free and what is not and so they refund Fry’s card again for warranty and charge other card, Then a lady comes up and tells me by the way your cards have been frozen due to all this activity. WHAT!!!
So I finish my purchase, (which now includes 3 or 4 refunds I have to watch for) go home to open computer and find it is locked with previous owners info. No problem can be unlocked… yeah right!!!
go back up to the store where the guy tells me its locked they cant unlock it and it should have never been sold to me. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!
By this time iv’e been in and out of this store for 6 hours. I was then told «oh but if I wanna drive near the airport that store there has 7» … At this point it is 9 at night I am completely wore out so I go home and get up the next day to go back up there to return locked laptop. Only to be told you have to take it over to the service dept first and go through them checking it out which mind you they did the night before. So I go do that and then I get to stand and wait in line for an hour to be bale to finally get to return laptop which took 30 more minutes because there was only one person there doing the whole line.
Ultimately I returned laptop. No one said sorry or tried to fix this situation, I don’t know if this was the day all the idiots worked but apparently it was and I hit every one of them… strongly recommend you go to Best Buy which is where ill be going from now on… HORRIBLE HORRIBLE STORE AND STAFF!!!

It’s the Walmart of electronics. Customer service sucks and most of the packaging shows most of the items were either already returned, opened, or used for batting practice. If you know what you’re doing, it’s great. If you have a question, however, you are better off just googling it… because you’re not going to get any help here.

Won’t ever go back. My son received a drone for Christmas, purchased at Fry’s. We finally opened it up this morning and it does not work. We took the brand new drone and the receipt to Fry’s for an exchange or refund. The initial employee I interacted with was pleasant but said the drone couldn’t be exchanged due to store policy. However, he wasn’t able to explain WHY that policy existed. As I was tying to get further clarification as to why my son was just out of luck, I was introduced to the «supervisor»… SARAH
Sarah couldn’t have been more unprofessional and rude. She was horrible. It’s a shame someone saw fit to put this type of person in a position of authority. I have never been a fan of Fry’s, but based on my treatment today I will make sure no one I know frequents this terrible business.
As I was leavings the store I heard the person behind me in line cursing at Sarah as she was waiting on him. He must have been impressed with her people skills like I was.
I will certainly their contact corporate office.

Terrible customer service and poorly stocked, ive been here 4 times over 3 weeks and its bad everytime.

Bought a new tv from here and my son bought a lap top. They price match as well as match Amazon as well. I have always gotten good deals from here and they always have a large selection of everything household as well as electronics, games, and a great little café inside as well. You can one stop shop for any an all needs your computer geek may need. You can lose time quickly in this large building of sensory heaven.

If you want good customer service don’t go to Fry’s. After running around or 10 mins trying to find an agent to help me, I finally flag down one and he completely dismissed me. He said he was going on a break and left. This is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience. So, if I need to go to Fry’s, I go in not expecting high expectations because I know I’m not going to get it. I’ve been to other locations and it’s the same all over.

Worst customer service experience ever. Tyler in service (look at other reviews for a pattern) is terrible. Non-​communicative, stares at you when you ask a legitimate question then does not answer, tells me the warranty is factory only and they will send to the manufacturer for a $ 40.00 fee when I bought the product there 45 days ago and it is under warranty??? Called the credit card company after I reluctantly paid for diagnostics when the card was perfectly legitimate and he was told so by the card company.
Avoid buying here. You will regret it and they have lost this customer.

I have experienced better stores.

If you hate going to Best Buy, Walmart, or Target for your digital needs, then you would absolutely love Fry’s.
It’s a warehouse 3 times larger and 3 times more inventory products than Micro Center.
Micro Center looks like a junkyard compared to this place.
Simply put, it’s Electronic Paradise!
What Fry’s did right is what other stores did wrong.
This is definitely the most organized store for digital merchandise. They have anything and everything.
Feels like home!

My brain is on FRY while I wait for someone to even acknowledge me. I know what I am here for, just give me the box. Women cannot get help, yet we have money too, we even work for it our very own selves.

Told manager on the way out, he says it is not cause I am a woman. Oh good, thanks for clearing that up. SMH

My girlfriends computer was left there for 2 weeks without anyone telling us any update on the status of the computer. It took them 6 weeks to fix a minor software issue. (Long story short they conned us into buying a protection plan which can not be used until 2 years after the purchase, and the computer had to be resend to apple for repair) so apple was actually the one who fixed it. The manager named Tyler Stegmaier actually was trying to charge us another 70 dollars diagnostic fee even though Frys did absolutely nothing towards fixing this computer. Apple has a year free warranty and free of charge repair for all their devices. If you do decide to use Frys, make sure it’s not the Tyler guy who handles your business. His attitude is poor and responses are slow and unreasonable.

Frys is Frys. I come here regularly to get home and computer electronics and the service here is terrible. When I was building my new computer I had a gentleman helping me, I couldn’t remember his name but he had one arm and I later found out he was the manager. I was asking him questions about products and he seemed uninterested in helping me. When I asked him to check stock on a few parts he came back and said, «We don’t have those only the top of the line parts.» I then asked him if he could check another store at which point he promptly left me to help and older individual. Suffice to say the older gentleman was window shopping and didn’t buy anything. Another younger sales associate helped me and I asked him for the exact same parts the other guy said they didn’t have. Turns out they had 7 of the processor in stock and 5 of the logic boards. I ended up spending $ 2500 dollars. I guess the sales manager figured that I looked young and didn’t have any money but the older guy did. Well, the older guy didn’t buy anything and I did so that sales associate made a nice commission. I hate being treated this way and I hate when people dump me as a client for someone they think will make them more money. I also hate being lied to in order to try and force me to buy more expensive products. I reported this guy to the store manager who really didn’t seem to care either. I ended up having to return the processor because when I got home and opened it it had thermal paste on it and burned connections (someone overclocked the heck out of it.) When I came back and exchanged it I watched the manager put it back in the box and put it back on the shelves again!!! Seriously get your poop together Fry’s!

I was disappointed. First of all I thought their prices were a little high considering comparable products on the Internet. THEN…
I found a computer part that fry’s sold for $ 40. ALL OVER their store they have signs that say «We Match Internet Pricing». Everywhere! (You can see where this is going).
Get to the front to check out and they won’t price match. The associate told me it has to be the exact same product. I used the Amazon bar code scanner app to scan the product. It is the exact product. But he disagrees.
Whatever. I will not be back. I mean… Why would I go back?

I was on the phone for almost 30 minutes no on picked up on multiple calls on a weekday. This has happened before.
I get a lot of electronics here and most of the time I am self served, I need to k ow all the details about the items I am buying because most of the workers don’t have that much training. It’s hard to buy someone you don’t know much about.
I go to bestbuy for the ones I don’t know cause their customer service and sales rep know more.

The employees don’t really care, so neither should you. This place is rolling downhill fast. I visit once a year, and the change is staggering. 10 waiting at the Returns desk. 2 waiting to pay at register. And lots of litter everywhere.
Me: I came in for a software book. But there are no books in your Book section.
Them: That is true sir.
Me: I found lots of toys in the Books section, below the large 5 foot sign that says «books».
Them: That is also true sir.
Me: So can you help me at all?
Them looking at each other and shrugging shoulders. I left, without stopping anywhere else. So may you.

I used to love this store, but working with them now is torturous. If all you want to do is buy a particular product and are not concerned about them standing behind it or being willing to talk with you if there is a problem, then by all means, go on with your purchase.
If you have any expectation of being able to call the store to ask a question or get help with a problem, or of getting service under their «Performance Service Contract» extended warranty, you might consider buying elsewhere. Or if you do buy from them, forego the warranty and buy one online from SquareTrade instead.
* Store Contact: It is VERY hard to reach this store. If you call 214−291−6000 at any time, there is a 5 – 10 minute wait just to get to someone who will transfer you to whoever you need to talk to. That’s not even 5 – 10 minutes to get to the person who can answer your question: just to get transferred.
* Warranty Service: Don’t even get me started. Tyler at the service desk flat out told me a laptop was water damaged simply because he saw a spot corrosion on the motherboard. Even though the technician who worked on it wrote «possibly a bad motherboard OR water damage» in his notes, Tyler ruled it as water damage and denied warranty coverage without having run any sort of tests on it or even sending it out to the service center to look at.
I used to come here all the time and have probably bought over a dozen systems for home and office from them, but at this point I am finished.

Fry’s is a great place to for that hardware geek seeking to build their own computers.
They’ve got a great selection of things and coupled with it’s online sales that are sometimes competitive.
Not sure how this store stay’s in business. I could see this place going out of business soon. It’s clear that this store is stuck to their old ways. The staff are all advised to wearing ties and are stuck to totalitarian type management. E.g. there are all formal processes and there is surveillance everywhere.

This is a terrific place to snag some really good values in the bargain bin shopping carts and some really low prices on specials like TV’s.
Lately I prefer their on-​line shopping because they offer better prices on one of a kind or shockingly low priced but terrific items. Like the Phoenix Hipstreet tablet for just $ 120.
Customer service while shopping is hit or miss but they do try hard to get you to what you are looking for.
