We just hired this guy Daylen too and had a very similar experience. I wished I had seen this post before hiring him. He gave us the lowest bid on a repair on our fence here in Plano in June of 2014 and said the same thing… that he could do everything. In the end, my husband ended up helping him with most of the work and our brand new power washer ended up disappearing the day after he left. Stay away from this guy. You will definitely find some sort of trouble, not to mention the mess he left afterwards of the posts and boards on the ground and now the fence is coming unnailed.

OMG, the most horrible experience of my life. Hired Dalyn Budd, I don’t think that is his last name because he refused to give it to me when I wrote up a contract after the fact! Duhh! This guy is a huge con-​artistads, very charming and according to him he could build a «Skyscraper».
He started on October 27^th, Drywall new flooring downstairs, hang cabinets, etc. I knocked out the bathroom and the kitchen. It took over a week to lay laminate flooring and the still did it wrong. All of the electrical work he did has to be redone, or does not work at all.
The walls had a heavy texture on them, and instead of removing it, he decided to texture over and ad around 2″ of mud to the walls, which 7 days later started falling off and they had to completly redo them, I could have told you that would happen.
On top of that his homeless drywall guy was staying at my condo for over two weeks and then Dalyn Budd supposedly had a funeral, his helper said it was something else. I had to feed and house this guy and he even had his girlfriend with two small children staying there for a couple of nights. The kids were 2&3 very small and should not have been in a construction sight. I still can’t believe I even let it happen, I just felt so sorry for the guy as he was doing all the work and not getting paid. He had also hung the first door which to say was crooked was beyond belief! He said well it may just have to stay that way! Are you kidding me. I fired them last Friday or I should say his helper as I could not take it anymore, 6 week and still no drywall completed. He took $ 9000.00 for laying some flooring and drywall, when the whole job was suppose to be $ 10,500.
He gives super low bids because he does not know what he is doing, horrible, horrible experience.
I could have kept all of his tools etc until I got the $ 4000.00 refund I feel I am entitled to, but of course that money is long gone. The guy would not even say he was sorry for ruining my Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have to hire someone to redo «EVERYTHING» this Idiot did!
Don’t speak or let this guy in your house! You will be sorry!
Once again, very charming, nice kid, only 25, but he has no ideal what he is doing. I will be doing everything I can legally and through various sites to make sure this never happens to anyone again!
