Locksmiths sometimes get a bad rap, but hopefully this story will warm your heart.
I have an older Craftsman tool chest with a lot of sentimental value (it’s a link between my daughter and her daddy who passed away) and had lost the key. When I called Sears they helped my find the key number on the lock but due to its age could not manufacture a key.
I contacted A-​1 Locksmith and gave them the information over the phone and they confirmed they had the blank key and could make. I told them I would come by later and have it made.
When I arrived 30 minutes later the key was finished and waiting for me!!! They knew nothing about the backstory and how important it was to me. They just did it. This was such a huge blessing because I was quite stressed that day. The key was $ 12.50 and they could have lost that money.
This is the type of good old-​fashioned customer service that does our city proud.

These guys are top-​notch. Friendly and informative. Have uses them on a couple of occasions for car keys and remotes. Great work both times. Don’t see why I’d ever use a different locksmith for as long as I live on this side of DFW.

Absolute Crap !! Called them when I needed urgent help with new keys for my Lexus. Made me wait 1 hour (so much for 30 mins response). The guy gets out of his van and tells me that he has the key but the battery is not working on the key. Ahhhh !! Common mannn. you should have checked that before you started for here. Wasted my time.

They charge way too much, for laser cutting a Honda key. The Honda dealership charged me $ 14.95 total to laser cut my after market Honda key. A-​1 gave me a quote of $ 40 dollars just to cut the key. I hope this helps people who do not know, and over pay.

I called several other businesses including the Infiniti «stealership» and the cost associated with programming a new FOB for my G35 was outrageous. Called up Mark, spoke briefly over the phone.. . he quoted me a reasonable price in a matter of seconds. I drove my car down they had both FOBs programmed and working in a matter of minutes. i will look to these guys in the future for other locksmith needs that I have.

I needed a tiny, double-​sided key copy and this place had it. I pulled right up to the door and was waited on immediately. You could tell the people here really knew what they were doing. In and Out very quickly!

I cannot say enough good things about this team in Plano. When we moved they rekeyed every lock to have the same key as a fraction of the price of everyone else. Festival broken ignition key on a motorcycle they had it out and rekeyed in less than 10 minutes — total cost $ 5. (I had a replacement key only paid to have it cut & fished out of bike ignition)

Purchased a safe for my home, had a great selection and fair prices. I like to support local business and buy things from people who deal with those items. ie Costco sells safes but A-​1 does not sell paper towels. Make sense? So I buy paper towels from Costco and safes from A-​1

lost a set of transponder keys for my 2013 ford flex. Dealer wanted $ 350 for a replacement plus i had to leave my car as i was told it would take a few hours. I contacted A-​1 was quoted $ 200 and they would do it right away. The new key was identical to my original Ford key and works great. The people there were all very nice too, I would recommend them.

Went to get a key copied and found two guys in their late twenties (don’t remember their names). I didn’t have any expectations of good or bad treatment. Just expected them to get to the point like most locksmiths, but they were really courteous and helpful. They even referred me to the right store for services they couldn’t provide. I’ll definitely be going back to this store if I ever need locksmith services again.

I just called tonight around 7:30 pm on SEP 06, 2014 and wanted service for my vehicle and the girl that answered had the most ridiculous, unpleasant attitude that I’ve ever encountered. Right away she was very condescending FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I’m a first time caller and normally (you’d get the welcoming greet) instead I felt as If I bothered her when I called. anyways, I decided to take it with the grain of salt and proceed with the service I wanted (I needed a key made for my vehicle) SO she says okay got it and hung up on me. I then called back and said you can cancel my order because I’m not going to give service to a company who doesn’t care about their customers, and she proceeds to argue back with me (so I got a little out of my character) and we yelled at each-​other. I don’t normally complain unless it’s a big issue and HER ARROGANCE will bring her and the company DOWN !!! I guess the folks out here ignore the ignorance but I have a VOICE and I will say what’s on my mind. Energy is contagious that’s why so many business are Failing today because they do not know how to talk to customers. I guess I’m old fashion, but I believe that when you’re dealing with customers, you should have a SERVANTS HEART .
GOOD LUCK ON COACHING YOUR TEAM MEMBER (S) REMEMBER… The phone operators who assist your business are the first ones you’re customers talk to and if this continues to happen I can guarantee people will continue to look elsewhere.

I am very happy with their service. I have called them to my office on several occasions and every single time a professional gentleman (different ones) showed up and knew exactly what he was doing. They have changed our locks, made various keys and even gave helpful suggestions on improving the security and making the process better.

Advertised in Yellow Pages a set price for service calls. When I made appointment they said it didn’t apply in my situation and that it was an old ad. (Yellow pages were dated 2013 – 2014) edition. Gave me a hard time, but honored their ad.
Tech arrived on time. Fixed problem. Went around house and tried to upsell me on other security devices. Tired to scare me into buying more stuff.

From lockouts to rekey, A-​1 to the rescue! This company has been at the top of my referral list for years. They are fast, responsive, and reliable. They can also do compliance checks for landlords who need to make sure their rental units are up to par with Texas property code! If you need a locksmith, these are your guys.

A-​1 was able to program a smart key to my 2011 ford. When we bought our car, the used car dealership only had one smart key to the vehicle. I bought a smart key off of eBay not knowing it required someone with the proper equipment to program it. The ford dealership quoted $ 268 dollars for a key. A-​1 was able to program our key we bought from eBay for only $ 50. I was impressed at how simple it was. Ford told it would take nearly 2hrs to complete. A-​1 proved this was not the case.

I will never use this company again. A service has been set up a month earlier, but still not finished. Every time there would be something wrong. Technician did not show up, or get a mismatch color of handle set. The service got delayed and rescheduled again and again. When I complain it to sales manager, he yelled at me on the phone. So disappointment.
