I agree with some of the previous reviews. Great guys, super nice, good price, but not a professional business model. Large interior job — a lot of trim, ceiling, and walls. Left us in the middle of a huge job, costing us thousands more and several weeks of finding new painters to complete their work they started. Fixed price contract for an agreed scope of work but was told they put in more hours than we paid for (what? this was not billable for time and effort) so their business manager made it sound like they were doing us a favor cutting ties with what was paid so far — already several thousand into the job.

I love MLG! And no not related to them. I’m just a huge fan now. They just painted my house and did tile work. Adrian and Juan were awesome. Beautiful quality work. I was also very impressed that what they quoted me for the project over the phone they actually followed through! No extra hidden charges or delays etc. I was very pleasantly suprised by their hard work and great work ethic. I will definitely be calling them again. Thank you so much!

I usually don’t write many reviews but I felt compelled to write a review based on the fantastic service I received. A friend recommended MLG Handyman to do a week long remodeling project at an apartment I own in Chicago, and we had a really positive experience. They updated the bathroom and kitchen and painted the entire apartment. Throughout the process, they were very responsive via text, email and phone, and the work team was conscientious and thorough. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them!

Bought a $ 350 groupon for 2 painters for 8 hrs. Asked them if restraining my wood porches was included. Was informed as long as I provided the stain and let them know the product, which I did. Day of service worst painting job ever. Why? Because after I told them the product they did not bring the proper quality rollers, which made applying the stain difficult and slow. Of course they didn’t let me know this until several hours after they started the job. Since the are supposed to be professional painters and I told them the specific product, they should have brought the right rollers wouldn’t you think? I even told them when they first got to my home, if they needed me to run to Home Depot to pick up anything I would. Now I am let with an incomplete job, and what was completed looks horrible and I will need to strip off what they have done and start over, all because they didn’t bring or ask me to buy $ 10 worth of proper rollers. Complete waste of my money and time and now I have to spend even more money to correct what they messed up. I highly highly recommend you use someone else.

We hired MLG Handyman to paint our condo this summer and they did a great job! Juan was very attentive to detail and went above and beyond to even fix a couple of other things we needed fixing along the way. He provided helpful advice on the best way to use the colors we had chosen and he really did a great job making our place look beautiful. We would definitely use them again.

Found these guys on Groupon and made an appointment. I confirmed, re-​confirmed, and on the day of, after moving all of our furniture, taking off electrical outlets, vents, everything, I called to ask where they were and they said they had no record of me or my reservation. After a bit of yelling and crying, their office manager (?) did apologize and agreed to send out a painter the next week for an even more discounted rate. We had to move everything back, then move it again, but the painter came out and did a great job. He used painter’s tape, which most pro-​painters don’t use, there were a few tiny splashes on the floor, but it was cheap and we didn’t have to do it ourselves, so I was satisfied. I figured plenty good enough to hire MLG again to paint the rest of the house. And, yet again, after multiple confirmations, they didn’t show up. I called that morning, and the office manager claimed she’d been calling and leaving messages to tell me they couldn’t make it. Again, all our furniture had been moved and we were left in the lurch. I found another painter, happily paid them twice as much for a great job, SHOWING UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD, and for saving me from moving unnecessarily, yet again. Good guys, solid painters, but good luck getting them to show up, due to bad management.

MLG painted my wife’s old condo. I was very pleased with the quality of their work but not only the quality, the amount of painting they did in 8 hours with only two guys was unbelievable. I kept their business card and will use them again next time I need painters. Good work deserves a good review so I give them 5 stars.

My husband found MLG through Groupon and we had a fabulous experience in our Logan Square condo. The price was right (obviously) but the service was top notch. To start, we called and left a vm to schedule an appointment. The owner, Mauricio, got back to us shortly and was friendly and professional while finding a date that worked for us. The guys, Adrian and Frank, were incredibly friendly, put up with my teasing, and they made very quick work of the rooms we wanted to have done. Adrian even went and touched up some shoddy work that we’d done in our bedroom. These guys were awesome and we’d highly recommend them!

My only thoughts are this is some sort of scam, or the most unorganized service ever. Prepaid for 8 hours of painting and made an appointment many weeks in advance.
Confirmed the day before and the man said he had no record of my request for service, and he would call back that afternoon. He never called so I called him back multiple times and finally got ahold of him and he said he would call back in 5 minutes. Of course never called back, so I called again the next morning and he said he confirmed he could get me a painter two days later at 8am and that it was the prepaid service. Fine, no harm no foul, he had all my information and repeated it all back to me.
The next day I confirm and no one responds. I cross my fingers, take time off work again, and head to the condo where the painting needs to take place at 8am, paint in hand, place all prepped. I try to get ahold of him again and finally get a response. Once again — no record of any service request (what??). I walk through step by step the exact dates and times we spoke on the phone and what he told me — I mean it was less than 48 hours prior?!
He says he will grab his schedule and look, at which point I said I’m beyond wasting all my time on this, taking time off work, and that they have shown absolutely nothing that says they are a reliable service. I worked then with the contact where I had pre-​paid for this and credit card company to get my money back.
I would be very very skeptical about using this service. I’m sure they’re nice people, but something isn’t right here.

MLG did an excellent job painting our home in Lake Forest. The men were very professional, courteous, and kind. Their painting skills are one of the best in Chicago. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a beautiful professional painting experience.
