We did like this park, and I probably would have given it 5 stars, but we didn’t like the splash pad. After going to other splash Pads, when you come to this one it seems like there’s barely any water. It was almost like it was a splash pad for toddlers(and if it is, I wasn’t aware lol). The playground area was nice and my son enjoyed it. The main thing I don’t like about this park is that when your child is playing on the opposite side of the playground, you aren’t able to see them well(if at all, at times). My son is 5 and I watch him like a hawk(my kid won’t be climbing into a gorilla exhibit or swimming in an alligator filled lake at night by himself! Lol), so I wasn’t fond of that part. If you’re from Plainfield this could be a nice park to occasionally go to. We are from downtown indy, so it was a drive for us and we were ultimately disappointed. Our disappointment however, was not solely due to the park which is why I gave it 4 stars. It is a good park, but we have other better options in the indy area that are a better choice for us. If you have a younger child and are fairly close, you should give it a try!

Fantastic park!!! Enough said The playground area for kids is fantastic. There are two separate areas, one for the bigger kids and one for the smaller kids. What is nice about these two play areas, it has the padded turf under it instead of mulch. Lots of swings, big kid swings, little kid swings, handicap swings. The only swings missing are those new 2 seat swings for infants and parents facing each other. Those would have been a bonus, but still ample amount of swings. Sandbox, you can get lost in. It’s a very good size one. Just watch out for the kids that throw sand :( The splash pad is not overwhelming, but it looks like, fun. Lots of walking paths and areas to sit and have a picnic. Great job!!!

Wonderful park, one of the best in the Indianapolis area. Be sure to cross the bridge over the White River to find more walking trails and parks. This park is kept up beautifully and feels safe. Love the mile-long walking loop around the east side of the park!

Great place to bike! This is a great place to have a leisurely bike ride! The area is virtually flat, so the miles really add up quickly. Ride over the bridge to the old diner. It’s something to see!

Hummel Park offers such gorgeous views while I run or walk the paved trails. They cover a lot of Plainfield and are a less urban version of the Cultural Trail, there’s stretches that really give you a nice sense of the outdoors if you can’t fit a hiking trip into your schedule. Lots of trees, beautiful flora, and even a small variety of fauna can be found. (I routinely see ducks, geese, bunnies, raccoons, hawks, and even pass an area where cows graze). The area for kids is clean and modern, then there’s basketball courts and a skate park for older kids and teens.

Hummel Park is one of the cleanest and best maintained parks in the area. There’s plenty of open grassy fields, playgrounds, ponds, creek access, sports areas and a running track.

This is such a nice park! It seems they are constantly improving this park. There are plenty of paved trails for walking/biking. There is a soccer field, multiple basketball goals, sand volleyball, an amphitheater for concerts, a play area with tons of equipment for the kids, and it looks like even a small water-parkish area, not with rides or the like, just fun stuff shooting out water in creative ways. There is also a lovely creek you can skip rocks in and plenty of open area for whatever activities you may want. There are many shelters that can be reserved for parties and whatnot. There’s also more to it than that, so check it out!

I was born and raised in Plainfield and Hummel Park has always been a favorite place of my family and I. Derek, the park administrator, and his staff do a wonderful job of maintaining the park facilities and the offices, making this park probably one of the nicest ones I’ve been to. Don’t quote me on this, but I do believe Hummel Park is one of Indiana’s largest. There are two or three baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and trails perfect for walking and biking. There are 5 to 6 shelter houses available for rent surrounding the main playground. The splash pad is the newest addition to the park, but take caution some days it is not open for whatever reason. The scenery is breathtaking as well. The woods and small creeks around the trails have been left untouched. The grass is always well maintained and perfect for picnics. Bathrooms are usually very clean as well. On the other side of the park there is a concert pavilion and another kind of large shelter house that can be rented along with a smaller playground and smaller shelter houses. The concert pavilion is such a nice addition because it hosts free concerts throughout the summer months and the lawn is perfect to spread out and watch on. The landscaping is also beautiful especially for prom pictures! Just recently, the park started doing movies on the lawn behind the large shelter house. You can drive your car up behind it and park like you’re at a drive in. Such a great idea and it was such a fun night! Overall, I love Hummel Park and it has been such a huge part of my childhood and adult years. Derek Clay and his staff do a wonderful job and I highly recommend this park as the place to spend your next Saturday!

Beautiful, well maintained park! This place is especially exceptional for bike riders, as the entire park is smoothly paved. They also host an outdoor summer concert series that is really enjoyable. So really, stop watching TV and go explore Hummel Park! Go!

Hummel Park is one of our all time favorite parks. Enjoy picnics, volleyball, basketball, beautiful walking paths with trails connecting into White Lick trail and Vandalia Rail trail. Terrific walking and biking paths around Hummel or cross the bridge and follow to Blue Heron Lake or the Performing Arts Pavilion. The trails are shaded, in great shape and all the trails intersect with each other around town. The landscaping is beautiful regardless of what time of year your at Hummel. You become a fan the minute you visit.

Wow! How has it taken me this long to find Hummel? What a great park! It has parky-park things like baseball diamonds, basketball courts, and numerous playgrounds, but it also has lovely walking trails and real wilderness areas for hiking, biking, and even fishing! Play in the creek, or hand out in one of the shelters. Or maybe go catch a concert at the giant performing arts pavilion! I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time there this summer.
