On the way back from Montpelier with my family, we drove by Goddard college. My very old timey Vermont grandpa pointed it out and said, not unkindly, «That’s where all the hippies come for college.» When I saw the sign for Café Verde, I figured it might be an outpost for that crowd :) We needed coffee(and I saw four stars on Unilocal), so we stopped. As we walked in to this adorable coffee shop, we were greeted by an even more adorable little two year old with a spray bottle, watering the plants. His parents who owned the shop were just as welcoming and friendly, offering me a sample of fizzleblitz, as I had no idea what it was(turns out, its a home-brewed fizzy mate tea drink, and pretty damn good). We all got something different: my grandpa — plain coffee, my sis — a mocha, my bro — a capp, and me — a «Taza chocolate.» Everything was good, and we hung out there for a bit while sipping. The seats are comfy and the atmosphere is pleasant. If I lived anywhere nearby, I could see myself coming in on a regular basis. I think both locals and Goddard«hippies» would love it, so I hope everyone discovers this new place soon :)
