It was previously known as «The Tire Exchange» and «Tom Sierra Tire».

We recently moved to our new location at 659 Main Street and are

Business Owner

Geoff has been in the automotive industry for many years, with first hand experience and multiple ASE certifications. Geoff previously managed Sierra Nevada Tire & Wheel for 12 years until recently, when he purchased the company from Tom Sierra Co and moved the company to our new location, 659 Main Street. Geoff is a master mechanic, and has years of experience with all makes and models.

These guys are the best! I had brake trouble on the first day of my vacation and stopped in Placerville. It was a Saturday afternoon and all the repair shops were closed. Luckily we found these guys, and they squeezed us into the schedule. Chris, the manager was very professional and knowledgable and found a serious problem with our brakes. They ordered the parts we needed and gave us good advice on local camping. They saved our vacation and probably saved us from a serious accident. Great Guys!

VETERANS BEWARE… When I was checking out I was totally shocked and disappointed when I asked if they give a veterans discount. The guy checking me out said I should have told them I was a veteran a head of time and that I would have only saved a couple of dollars anyway. Thanks for the respect Sierra.

This is my Sierra Nevada Tire story. With there shop getting a new alignment rack and not operating yet, i needed a couple of alignments done. I called them and the owner himself said he could do them at there 2nd location in pollock pines (which was also not up and running yet) We met him up there and he did them both himself on a Saturday! These are the kind of people that make Placerville great!

I took my suv to them yesterday for an alignment.
They gave me an estimate which was fair and I showed them a discount coupon I got out of the Clipper which they gladly accepted.
Very nice waiting area and exceptionally clean facility. Everyone was very friendly and courteous.
A while later he said the car didn’t need alignment just air in the tires. He said he wouldn’t charge me for the air. I handed him my card to pay and he said there was no charge.
No charge! They could have easily charged me for the alignment and actually should have at least charged me for their time.
Truly honest people. I will make a point to bring my car in for tires knowing they will give me a fair and honest deal. Many thanks.

Got 4 new tires for my field mower here — mine were 10+ years old and just would not hold air anymore. I priced checked them against Amazon for the same exact tires (model and manufacturer) — they were within 10% and able to get them in and installed the next day. It was $ 10 each to mount them and new valve stems were $ 3 each. Staff was super nice and helped me load/​unload the tires. Easy peasy!

So great service had an appointment for following day called and they got me in the same day last minute. However after «yanking and pulling» on my driver side whatever to get the vehicle in alignment the tech explained that he couldn’t get it in alignment without making my steering wheel off center. I decided to take the truck to the dealer to fix the issue. While driving to the dealer I noticed and felt a rattle under the vehicle. Well I know have to replace components on my suspension costing me hundreds of dollars. Do not get anything other than tires done here!

I’ve been purchasing tires for over four decades I have both personal and company vehicles Sierra Tire is always courteous. Pricing and professionalism is very good. I recommend to anyone. In particular the Cooper tires seem to be a great value. Ride quiet and really stick to the road.

Sierra Nevada Tire and Wheel is an awesome place to get tires and work done on your car/​truck. I drive to Tahoe twice a week and I have used their Cooper tires for years. They are very aggressive. These guys to all my work on all my vehicles. Go there, you won’t be sorry.
