The Pop Stop

Haven’t had a flavor I didn’t like. I try to stop by the farmers market on Thursday’s in Market Square to try different flavors. My favorite so far is the Elvis (peanut butter, banana and honey-​yum!). I also really enjoy the orange mango.

So I get the appeal – a gourmet popsicle on a hot summer day. Unique flavors/​fusions. Something fun and different. I totally get it. A lot of people will pay $ 3 for something like that and be really happy.
I got the pineapple basil. Two very good flavors on their own. We picked them up from the Downtown Farmer’s Market on a hot summer day. I was pretty underwhelmed with my popsicle. The cost for two popsicles is $ 6. I could make several at home at that price. It felt as though the pineapple was not pureed enough. I enjoyed the flecks of basil, but overall the citrus of the pineapple was not strong prominent enough. It was like a frozen chunky stick.
The honeydew pistachio was also very underwhelming. Honeydew is such a light flavor that it probably should have been left on it’s own. The pistachio (which should be chunky! from the chopped nuts) overpowered the melon. Just not good. I probably won’t even return. Sorry.

Wow are these good! I got to sample these pops for free at the CIDP Walk in South Park. I tried several different flavors including Honeydew Pistachio, Mixed Berry, Strawberry and Cucumber Mint Lime. My favorite flavor was Honeydew Pistachio because it is not only a unique flavor, but it is a great combination and is so fresh tasting! This isn’t the place to come to if you are craving a jolting burst of sugary, processed flavor. It is a place that offers a variety of unique flavors in a natural, mostly vegan and gluten free pop, complete with locally bought ingredients and no artificial flavors or dyes! There is no stationary building that you can find the pops, but the owner and his wife can be found at various locations throughout the city if you check on their website for current events. You can independently order a minimum of 50 pops for a relatively low price for the quantity. I would recommend these pops for various events, charities, birthday parties or for personal consumption if you eat a lot of popsicles! It’s a great product offered at a great value!
