What an amazing way to spend an evening with friends. Pittsburgh was one of the first cities to host a Moth Storyslam. The Moth is a nonprofit dedicated to producing live storytelling. The stories are all true, as affirmed by the storyteller, 5 minutes in length, and actual stories that happened to them, not a friend or relative. Each Slam begins with a musical performance, and is hosted by an emcee. Teams of volunteer judges from the audience score the stories in Olympic fashion. At the end of the evening, a winner is selected who will go on to compete in a yearly competition, and then possibly regional or national story slams. The Pittsburgh Moth is lots of fun and often quite moving and thoughtful. You owe it to yourself to experience it at least once!
