The guys at Bastone are great. Everyone is friendly and knowledgable. We’ve brought our car in several times for both regular service and repairs and they always work quickly and provide a solution at a reasonable price. They’re always very patient when we ask lots of questions. Our car has never been in better shape thanks to Bastone.

Bastone was able to get my car into the shop the very day I was out looking to get my car repaired. Carl, the man who assisted me, was very friendly, addressed all my concerns, and called me with an estimate before doing work (front end and alignment). Compared to the horror stories you can read online, their prices are very reasonable. I picked up my car a few hours later and the steering is tight, dead-​center, and hasn’t felt this good to drive since I bought it. I will definitely be returning if any other problem with my car arises. Nice work guys.

This place is horrible. If my vehicle broke down in front of his place I’d have it towed to a different garage. I took it in for a simple inspection. He called me back with a mile long list of things. I told him go ahead and replace the two burned out tail light bulbs and tighten the control arm bolt that was loose. I came back to pick it up and had a bill that was charging almost $ 100 in labor fees for changing those two light bulbs and looking at another bulb!!! He didn’t tighten the control arm bolt because he said it would need an alignment so he preferred sending the vehicle off with loose control arms. He didn’t pass it for safety inspection and we settled as me paying for the entire inspection even though he will charge me another $ 30 if I bring it back for the other sticker. I hope this place gets shut down. I thought Los Angeles was supposed to be the city of shady vultures… I guess it’s called Shadyside here for a reason

Bastone is the best auto service I have found in the US. I have trusted my car to them for all the years I have been in Pittsburgh and I do not plan on changing them. They are very professional, logical prices, and they make everything possible to meet your time schedule if you ask them for. They even give some perks for «loyalty» customers (e.g., free oil change for every 6 oil changes you do there — of course this means every 2.5−3 years but still). The also have a shuttle to drop you off (I have never used it but I have seen other people using it). However, because they are so good they are very busy too, so make an appointment ahead of time. They are also not open during weekends.

I have taken my cars to Bastone’s for years and would highly recommend them. Always friendly, always courteous, never trying to sell me on unnecessary work. I really appreciate their honesty and their help in keeping my old car working and on the road.

Love this place. The atmosphere is friendly and professional. After taking my car to Pep Boys I was glad to find an auto service place where I didn’t feel like I was a nuisance. The price is great for the services I received and speedy. I would recommend you call ahead in order to make an appointment. Pep Boys had my car for 4 days and didn’t fix the problem — Bastone had my car for 2 hours and it was ready.

I was passing through Pittsburgh and discovered a headlight was out. I found Bastone through Unilocal and drove over.
They fixed the light on the spot charging me $ 12. First impressions are great — very clean repair shop and the service for this minor repair was done in a friendly and welcoming manner.

Definitely overpriced for what they offered. Took my car in to check my AC, they didn’t get back to me for the whole day, and decided to fix whatever the problem was without asking me and charging me an insane about (approximately $ 150 more than most places). Definitely will not go back there again.

Had very bad experience with this auto-​shop. My car’s engine stalls at idle and coolant temperature is not right. When make turns, there is noise from front wheel. This garage took more than a week to diagnose my car and gave me a ~1900 $ bill for repair of a lot of un-​related stuff. And they didn’t even check the cooling system until I ask them to do. Then they insisted nothing wrong with cooling system other than a loose clamp, which is not loose at all. And they claim all my car’s problems will be fixed. They took another week to finish the job and the next morning after I got my car, my engine stalls twice within 20 minutes, coolant temperature is still wrong and front wheel noise is still there. Sent my car back and they said another 500 $ to replace several sensors will fix the problems, which is non-​sense. I will never trust them anymore and nether should you. They only trick you to do repairs you don’t need and never fix a real problem.

Great service. I had my tail light replaced and had it bought online. Other places said that they wouldn’t install something that wasn’t bought at their place. Bastone finished the work very quickly and did a great job. Great service and value.

The best, most honest and reliable car guys in the Burgh. I lived in Pittsburgh for eight years and still have family there. I drive in from out of state so these guys can do work for me.

Bastone offered me a fair price for the work they did. I took it there to get a second opinion and despite the fact that they have a sign saying they charge for check-​ups, it was free. They quickly got back to me telling me what had to be done and what they recommended giving detailed reasoning behind it.
At no point did I feel like they were trying to cheat me or up-​sell me. And they were the cheapest place I checked out.

These guys do everything by the book.
I had lapsed in my PenDot stickers and registration, and they helped me get that together (they won’t work on your car if it’s registration isn’t valid).
They told me my 2004 Toyota would need new wipers to pass safety inspection. They had me, but the cost was reasonable.
