History

Established in 1979.

Current Owner and President, Tim Allen acquired the company from his father in 1984. Unlike most kids who spent their childhood breaking windows, Tim spent his repairing them. He literally grew up in the business, and today his oldest son works for the company as Office Manager.

With over 30 years of experience, East County Glass has been serving the entire bay area including San Francisco, Concord, Walnut Creek, Brentwood, San Ramon, San Jose, Richmond, as well as Sacramento and Stockton with superior Glass and Window Repair and Replacement Services. I was thrilled with the job done by East County. They replaced the windows in my home in southeast Concord for me in one long day. The principal installer was Caesar, who has the procedure down after a decade plus of experience. He and two other team members were efficient, professional, and respectful of me and my indoor pets. They arrived at 9:15am after loading and transporting their materials, and worked until after 6:30. They had to modify the exterior decorative trim on my house to allow the casement windows (required in smaller window sizes to meet safety codes in Concord) to open widely; I am very pleased with the results and this was all in a day’s work for these guys.
Heather in the Pittsburg office is very helpful and responsive and made several modifications to my estimate as we worked out the code and job requirements and preferences together.
The best part is the finished product. No more sticky, mildewed, rotting, leaky windows to worry about, and a lifetime warranty! The windows even look great.

Glass broken on you window? Get it repaired at East County Glass. Lowest quoted price and they did awesome job replacing the glass on my dual pane window. Big thanks goes out to the technician who did the install. An even bigger thank you goes out to Meliss and who took care of me from start to finish. If I ever need glass repaired on my windows I know who to call and where to go.

Overall, I’m very happy with the windows supplied and installed by EC Glass for a commercial building I manage. Like most contractors these days, they are very busy and their service people may be spread thin, but they ultimately do an excellent job and are worthy of customer loyalty. For final outcome, I give them 5 stars.

I’ve never understood why some businesses don’t try harder to earn someone’s business. I contacted East County glass to get an estimate to replace my existing framed shower door with a frameless one. I also contacted 2 other business with the same scope of work.
I spoke to Tim twice on the phone and even e-​mailed pictures of my existing set up with some measurements of what I was looking for. I never heard back from anyone and it’s been a week.
I’m going with one of the other business that did provide me a timely estimate and I’ll give a review on that $ 2,000 job when it’s finished.
I tried to shop local but it just didn’t work out.

We replaced all of our single pane windows thru this company with double panes. The company was easy to work with, knowledgable and efficient from the person on the office phone to Justin who gave us our bid. But most importantly to the 3 men who installed the windows. They were professional, courteous, and left our house as clean as when they arrived. Our sliding door was a challenge and they did an expert job of making it work. They deserve the utmost credit of doing a great job!

East County Glass was a pleasure to work with — professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and always kept in contact throughout the project.
We had to replace glass/​window/​door for a commercial property (3000+ sq ft) and sought bids from multiple sources. Tim, the owner, came out and clearly explained the process to us, sharing his insights on the best approach to tackle the project, minimizing cost while maintaining the high quality we were after. Of all the companies who came out to the property, Tim was definitely the most attentive to our needs and knowledgeable. The delivery of the bid proposal was timely and the bid/​proposal within expected range.
Throughout the window replacement process, Audrey, our project manager, ensured things were on track. East County Glass was able to adjust their schedule as to minimize the impact of our current tenant.
We had some minor issues with the install after the team left. With a simple Email and phone call, they quickly came out to fix it. It shows they are putting the customer first and stands behind their workmanship.

Awesome service! We called because a window just fell out of the casing and crashed all over, and we’re given an appointment on the same day…20 minutes later we had the repairman at our door ! I broke one of my front window panes last night, I started to stress about getting it replaced since we have had a few storms rolling through recently. After painfully searching and calling since 8 am, I contacted East County about a quote for the repair. I was told I could bring it in this morning and it would be available for pick up by 4pm. The ladies in the front office were great, my window was ready for pick up at 1:18pm. It is really nice to know I can break a window and have it repaired in 24hrs. Awesomeness!!!

We needed to replace our closet doors and we had heard what a wonderful job East County Glass does. They came out to give us an estimate and a quote and they arrived when they said that they would and we ordered the mirrored closet doors. They did a wonderful job and I would highly suggest them. Do not use. East County Glass do not know how to properly install windows. I had their work inspected by two other professionals. One went so far as saying «they don’t know what the hell they’re doing» and this was from a certified Construction Manager who was not looking to get my window work.
East County Glass’s customer service is terrible! Especially Monica. She acts as if she is the customer. When there were problems with their windows East County Glass made me deal directly with the manufacturer. Terrible. Avoid. You’ll be grateful.

Last fall (2011) East County Glass & Window replaced all our windows and sliding doors, (two sliding doors, five windows, one window a custom arched item.)
I couldn’t believe they would do it in two days, but they did, and with time to spare. The lead prep person was here early on, and everything went smoother than smooth. The disruption in terms of furniture moving, rugs, etc. was really minimal. They left the house in perfect order when the job was done.
We are so happy with our new windows. The house is snug and warm for the winter– no more rattling windows when the wind blows and no more traffic noise!
Justin Ryan was clear and totally upfront during the planning and ordering. The costs were as contracted, with no last minute surprises. The office manager went above and beyond to accommodate our own work hours in the scheduling.
This was not the lowest bid we had on this job, but the recommendation of a friend tilted the balance in their favor. We are so glad we decided to let East County do the work. It couldn’t have been easier!

We had a 10×6 foot window replaced yesterday by East County Glass. All the staff was extremely professional, from salesman Justin Ryan, who I think of as «the closer,» to the installers who completed the job in 5 hours yesterday.
We weren’t sure we were going to replace the window because our former window was only 10 years old, and being such a huge window, it was expensive to replace. It had been installed before we lived here (we didn’t know by whom) incorrectly and was pulling away from the frame. As a result, we got a lot of heat and cold through the window, and would eventually get water damage.
We compared three different window companies and chose East County Glass because Justin impressed us with his presentation. He had photo albums of what the actual windows looked like, he brought a window with him, plus a heat lamp, so we could see how energy efficient the Simonton window was compared to our current window. We also thought that he’d be a good choice because Justin had done two of our neighbors’ windows, and our neighbors had excellent results.
Justin suggested a wood frame to match our other window, which neither of the other glass companies did. It looks much nicer (more finished) now and wasn’t overly expensive. Justin and the installers were extremely fastidious with the measurements and installation, and we feel happy with our choice to go with this company. The installers were polite and cleaned up after themselves.
We’ll be getting a tax rebate on this window, which doesn’t hurt. Perhaps our living room won’t get so hot in the summer and our heating bills will go down too — one can hope.
