For me, some of the most valuable lessons I learned about life were forged in my father’s welding shop. The many hours my father spent teaching me this delicate craft not only showed me the importance of attention to detail and pride in my work, but also that the best way to strengthen a relationship is through a hands-​on approach. It made me feel like a grown up because I was doing this trade that not a lot of kids my age were doing, It’s times like this that make you a stronger person in life. This simple lesson sparked a lifelong interest in investing myself in the lives of others.

You see, I’m not content unless I’m rolling up my sleeves and empowering others to make things happen. The same can be said about my dedication to the community. As a member of the local Kiwanis Club, I’m always doing my part to make a positive impact in the lives of people around me.
