I hate leaving a bad review and I too am a little suspicious about all the five star opinions. The staff was nice enough, but the ONE thing I found odd was my cleaning with the hygienist. I go to the dentist pretty routinely… every 4 months or so. And never have I had my teeth polished before the scraping of tartar. Why is this a big deal? It’s like rinsing your mouth with wash before brushing your teeth! So consequently I still have plaque which I can feel between my teeth! And let me preface this by saying I have a pretty nice set of teeth. I confirmed my suspicion of this being incorrect with the staff at our old dentist office and a friend who a dentist. So needless to say I’m worried if they will do other simple procedures incorrectly.

The most awesome dentist and staff! I can honestly say, I have a good time when I go to the dentist. Everyone in the office makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. Dr. Hanratty has a great personality and really knows how to make you laugh.

Very professional highly skilled yet friendly, carefree attitude. Everyone treats you like family. Wonderful experience! That usually doesn’t go hand-​in-​hand with a visit to the dentist. Thank you you have me for life!

Taking my business elsewhere — all these 5 star reviews are suspicious…
Initial Visit: Everyone was friendly and put me as ease. Dr. Hanratty came in and was nice but when he had questions, he asked the assistant right in front of me as if I weren’t there. I HATE that. Also, he made jokes about having to make money so I might need a crown…
Hours are horrible for working people. (closed Fri-​Sunday and open 8 – 5 other days.)
Front desk staff was ok — they always seemed a bit snooty. Also, before I came in for my first appointment all they were concerned about was my insurance — even asking for my husbands social security number TWICE (not cool).
During my first filling, I was told I needed a crown (surprise, surprise) which would set me back over $ 500 (with insurance). Dr. H did not really explain why I needed it and furthermore, the «crack» I had in my tooth did not even show up on the x-​rays. I was suspicious.
They also ask for you to pay your balance before you leave instead of billing insurance and then seeing how much you owe like every other doctors office I’ve been to.
Now after having 2 filings done, I’m now actually having more pain than I was before. The sensitivity that I told them about was not resolved. I did not receive any follow up calls as other people have stated. On to a new dentist!

Incredible care and follow-​up. Truly 5 Stars! I even received a follow-​up call the evening after an afternoon procedure to see how I was doing. Amazing, I have never experienced such a high level of professional care.
Besides all that, Dr. Hanratty and his staff are a fun group.

Always a great experience coming to Dr. Hanratty’s office. Everyone is really friendly and easygoing. You really get a feel that everyone loves working at this office and it makes every visit enjoyable. I will be recommending Dr. Hanratty to all my friends on the central coast.

I love the fact that they keep an eye on a couple teeth that may crack. Sheryl provided me with efficiency tips and tricks on the best way to healthy teeth and gums, as well as provide me with squeaky clean teeth!!!

The staff is very personable. Doc Hanratty is really charismatic and precise. Had a filling done in 10 minutes, very little drilling no numbing. Used a new laser/​water machine. Amazing.

So many praises for Dr Hanratty and his staff. The fears of going to the dentist has been replaced with looking forward to visiting my friends. From the warm reception through each dental procedure every detail is professionally covered and the work outstanding. And at age 75 I’ve had a few dentists to compare. A big thank you and applause of appreciation.

I had my teeth cleaned last week by Sheryl, and she did a great job! She was very thorough, had informative comments as she worked, and made me feel comfortable. I liked the fact that she wore lighted binocular eyewear like a dentist would use, which gave her a better view of what she was doing.

My husband and I recently moved to the area and were referred to Dr. Hanratty by a local friend. I am verrry jumpy and twitchy at the dentist and no one blinked, eye rolled, sighed or tapped their fingers in annoyance. The office staff is efficient, professional, fun and personable. They have been very patient (no pun intended) while we sort out our out-​of-​state dental coverage issues. My cleaning was EXCELLENT! Dr. Hanratty is professional, compassionate and he has a sense of humor. He respected my tooth sensitivity issues and did a very professional job on a tooth that is getting as long in repairs as I am in age. Kudos to Dr. H. and his great staff. I totally appreciate each and every one of them!

Dr Hanratty and his staff are some of the most caring people I have encountered in a long time. Dr Hanratty is very professional but at the same time he makes you feel at ease. He cares about you as a person not a dollar sign. His work is excellent and he takes his time. I have been to a lot of Dentists in my years. He is the best I have ever been to.
