Cascade Creek Campgrounds

I thought this was a lovely campground. Reviews are based on a moment in time but our time was great. We came on a Wednesday (July 24^th) and left on Friday late afternoon. The place was almost empty except for 2 other in/​out tent campers that we just happened to notice. Just the way I like it.
There was no host — a plus in this case…
The toilet pit pumper came both mornings… overkill but better than the alternative.
We never found the creek but I think it was because we were so entranced with the bouldering in our campsite — # 10 I think? No trail but a great morning walk to the top of the boulders and beyond for a view. Great mix of incense cedar, black oak and sugar pine… and loads of granite. Most campsites were fairly private (although we were basically alone so I don’t know what it would really be like if the place were filled). No evidence of bears but some trouble with wasps.
negatives: people are pigs… someone left a trail of garbage through the campsite — beer caps, juice box straws (a major pet peeve of mine), baby wipes, little plastic cap things, egg shells everywhere. My family spent a good ½ hour picking up garbage before we settled down — and there was still some left… we tried. I guess that is the negative of no host — no one keeps an eye on that sort of thing.
slight negative only not as bad as I imagined — We were near highway 108 and could hear the traffic although it wasn’t particularly loud except when a Harley went by.
Overall — I’d go again and hope that people clean up after themselves. And maybe I’ll find the creek this time.

This place could be nice! But the camp host Dianne harass you the whole time you are there! We are adults not children Diane! We don’t need to be told what time to go to bed. (10:00pm) according to her! We are also waaay over 21 and can drink if we want! We are not stupid and know how to maintain a low campfire. Never in all my years of camping have I come across such Nasty, harrassing, camp hosts. Mind you who are only volunteers and hold no authority at all.
I would never reccomend this place to anyone, untill they get new camp hosts!

Amazing camp grounds. about 10 miles down the road from pinecrest and 1000 feet up in elevation (6000 ft total) is the most beautiful campgrounds ever.
+ only $ 5 a night!
+14 spots for camping
+ even though there is only an outhouse and no running water, this one was luxurious. the host adds lavender to the restroom and really makes sure nothing is stinky! what i was once dreading to use turned into a pleasant surprise

+ 1 picnic table per site
+ wonderful host named Diane. smile and say hi to her when you see her
definitely coming back here.
