Hotel Pigeon Forge Inn & Suites

Worst hotel experience ever! We drove to Pigeon Forge for a one day trip. Arrived at 5:00 am and couldn’t find rooms available at the nearby hotels. I googled hotels in Pigeon Forge and this was the first one to pop up. Read the first 2 reviews that it was outdated BUT CLEAN. Decided to call it up and see if they had rooms available and they did. We put the address in the Gps and drove by the hotel 3 times before noticing that it was hidden on a hill. We drove up the sketchy road and noticed how outdated it was on the outside but decided to give it a chance. We arrived and the receptionist gave us a very good price of $ 70 each for two rooms (early 5:30 am check in).We checked into room 318 and 320 we put are things down (*1^st impression: OUTDATED and looked semi clean. bottom of walls on the edge of the wall and carpet there was accumulated dust/dirt.I then drove to Walmart to pick up some things I needed. Finally came back to the hotel and laid down to get some rest. While trying to fall asleep I began to itch uncontrollably and I got up to check the bed. It was flooding with red dots and while inspecting the bed closer I found more than 15 bed bugs. They where ranging in size from small dots to fully grown bed bugs!!! I called the reception and they switched our room to another one but the trauma of that horrible experience is unforgettable. I understand it’s a hotel and it very common for bed bugs, but for the amount of bed bugs found through out the room is a huge sign that whoever is cleaning the rooms is doing a horrible job. The bed bugs where NOT hiding they where in plain sight at 7:30 am!!!

Hotel Pigeon Forge was hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We arrived on New Years Eve at 3:05 and check in was at 3 and didn’t even know if our room was ready until after 4pm. Room 201; We got a non-​smoking room and as soon as we walked in the room it reaked of tobacco. The tables and lamps were covered in dust. The hotel was on a hill and when you arrived it looked ran down and not taken care of. The man at the front desk was not very professional and taking cell phone calls while he had a ton of people in line. None of this was worth the money and it was a bad bad experience! Our mattress was tough and to beat it all there were bed bugs in our bed. The curtains looked very dirty. like someone smoked three packs of cigarettes and blew smoke all over them. they were brown and looked nasty. The chair was ripped like crazy and three out of four of our lamps did not work.
The people were nice but the business was not maintained and well kept. Definitely will not ever stay there again!

oh my… I really don’t know where to start.
the drive up: hidden driveway, difficult to find, almost like an alleyway that goes straight up hill. pavement is in need of repair. poor lighting… no clear indicators at night that you’re even going the wrong way (or right)
parking lot: HUGE room for improvement here. not a lot of parking out front and the back lot didn’t look safe (I ended up parking on the edge near the driveway) limited lighting here as well
curb appeal/​landscaping: there is none. if cosmetics are important to you and you are put off by the lack of presentation thus far, leave now as it does not get any better
front lobby: there is an overwhelming fragrance of vanilla/​sugar cookie as you walk into the hotel. the lobby is dated a few decades back but at first glance appeared to be clean. old but clean.
hotel staff: the courtesy of our front desk clerk was the most impressive aspect about our stay. she was attentive and polite. if I were rating only her, she would receive ⁴⁄₅ stars. hotel pigeon forge owners, Job well done finding a 3^rd shift attendant who takes good care of your customers.
price point: $ 70/March/Friday/2015…can’t argue about the price. economical and hotel sits just far enough off the main road to minimize traffic noise yet it’s incredibly convenient to the main strip
hallway: no odor noticed. drab & dark
room 111: the first thing I noticed was how loosely fitting the door was. lots of «play» in the fit and obvious signs of forced entry over years. I had immediate feelings of uneasiness. I thought to myself «I hope there is at least a chain on the inside». thank goodness there is.
–I walk in and immediately turn on all the lights to start my routine inspection. in every hotel that I stay in I check for signs of bed bugs and I look for details that ensure housekeeping staff/​management care about the cleanliness/​presentation of my accommodations. it took appx. 30 seconds to get a full understanding of just how little hotel pigeon forge cares about what you think.
–we’ve established from this review as well as all before it that this hotel is old and dated. there are no modern amenities available. (unless you count the wifi that I hear is terrible. I did not use it so I can not attest to that). however, old does not equate to nasty and even old environments can be kept clean. this room is disgusting. there are splatters, smudges, smears, bugs, dust and dirt on every wall, linen, piece of furniture and crack & crevice. I have included pictures to tell the story wayyyy better than I can. there is peeling, bubbling wall paper, broken lamp shades and non-​working lamps. nothing appears to have been wiped down such as telephone, nightstands, alarm clock or remote.
bed & pillows: again, I did not see any evidence of bed bugs but there were noticeable stains on 2 of 4 pillowcases and on my bottom sheet.
bathroom/​shower: stains & dirt everywhere. there does appear to be a new toilet seat. toilet takes a while to fully flush and water pools around your feet as you shower
hotel pigeon forge has a lot of issues and I do not recommend it for your stay. you’ll be better suited to pay more and not feel as if you’re staying in a hotel that closed decades ago and hasn’t had a maintenance guy since.

The rooms here are perfect for a night. Simple. Cheap. Clean. And comfy.
I dont know what these reviews are talking about, there clearly people who dont appreciate simplisity.
We came all the way up here from jersey a day earlier an we stopped here to get a night. Best choice ever. But it really has nothing to do with the hotel as much as the owner. I love him. Seriously. I wish i could pack him up to bring home with us because it will be very sad not to see him again. He makes the entire stay worth it. Cant say enough good things about him. What a nice guy, really. But anyway yes i would stay here if i were you. Might not accomidate well for a weeks stay but a couple nights are no problem here. Only tip is that they could use softer sheets. Maybe even bring a blanket with you. But all in all nice hotel, perfeft owner!

Worst lower end hotel I’ve stayed at ever, This place I was going for cheap so I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, but I was still hoping I wouldn’t catch an STD by staying here. I’ve stayed at cheaper hotels in Gatlinburg that were 100 times better than this one.
I drive up to the hotel and I figure, this doesn’t look great from the outside, but a lot of cheaper ones usually don’t upkeep the outside so they spend a bit more on the inside and keeping things clean where it counts… well I was wrong, but I’ll get to that later.
I get to the hotel a little early as I do at almost every hotel I ever stay at. Not only were they not able to check me in early, which is understandable, they didn’t even check to see if they could. I asked if I’d be able to check in and the response I got was «check in is at 3», didn’t even look to see if there was a room available as every other hotel I have ever stayed at has and has checked me in early. Once I stayed in at Gatlinburg actually let us check in at 8AM! which I was very surprised about.
After walking around I come back around 5 and check in. The room didn’t look that bad at first glance, until I see the bathroom and actually pull the top sheet off the bed. The sheets looked like they weren’t even cleaned and there was only a thin sheet to cover ourselves with. we had to ask for another blanket at the front desk.
The bathroom had what looks like black mold all around the top of the ceiling. (see picture) When taking a shower, because of the shower heads they have, it was a huge annoyance trying to get it spraying where I wanted it to and by the time my wife and I were done we had a private pool in our bathroom. The towels were so rough I could sand down wood with them. They were barely the size for a kid to clean them self off. I wouldn’t have used that towel on my dog.
Originally I had two nights booked, but I asked the front desk if I could get a refund for one night if I left early and was told if I checked out in the morning I could. So after I packed my car I go to check out and naturally they say that they can’t give me a refund, but I still left and am now disputing the charge for he second night.
The breakfast was a joke. On Saturday and Sunday you are in for a treat with biscuits and gravy in addition to the tremendous assortment of two cereals, bagels and doughnuts. The biscuits tasted like rubber and juice was not juice, I didn’t bother to try anything else after that.
I also loved that the ice machine is on the top floor. This was the first time I saw a hotel have an ice machine only on the top floor of their hotel.
Last but not least, their free wifi was useless. my wife spent half an hour trying to do anything on it. Eventually I just tethered my phone, which unfortunately I wasn’t getting the best signal at their hotel either, but it at least worked. If you need wifi, don’t depend on theirs.

The staff was mostly very friendly. The room was typical & dated, for an older hotel. The rate was excellent, and even less $$$ was charged when I arrived, than when I reserved the room. (Very nice & delightful surprise, indeed!) The breakfast is clean, yet quite minimal: bagels, donuts, cereal, orange/​apple juice, coffee. (Beware that the breakfast hours are changed for Saturday & Sunday, … I found out too late.) The hotel is on a small hill, and takes a little effort to locate, yet, I actually enjoyed being off the main road where it was quieter. The hotel could use some major landscaping upgrades outside, to be more appealing. The bed/​pillows/​towels/​linens all were fine, especially for the price. The shower/​tub is a bit small, but hot water is plentiful. For the budget-​minded traveler, this is one of the best options for being just perfectly situated between Sevierville & Pigeon Forge, TN. Free Wi-​fi was quite acceptable.(Three nights, $ 183.33, including taxes.)

The hotel is a former Baymont Inn, you can still make out some of the Baymont logos on a few painted over signs on the property. It’s a little rough; it would appear the new owners may be a family that lives in the hotel as well as runs it; they could have cash flow issues that prevent them from investing in the needed renovations.
I’ve stayed in far worse hotels, so I don’t understand the one-​star ratings. I’ll do my best to address some themes from the other reviews.
First, the king bed my wife and I shared was anything but hard. It was supportive, perhaps a tad softer than I would personally like. They don’t resemble anything near a box-​spring.
Second, yes there are some mismatched linens and they aren’t the best quality. They are, however, clean and replaced daily.
The shampoo and conditioner are free samples, but then again, aren’t most hotels? My wife and I always bring our own toiletries so this was a non-​issue for us.
The staff was super friendly and obviously invested in our stay; they were quite genuine and warm throughout our visit, even though we used a coupon and checked in rather late on the first day.
I ding two stars overall, one for the state of the building, and one for an nonworking mini-​fridge that was in our room. They could have removed the nonworking fridge and I never would’ve had something to complain about, but going to put something in a fridge that you thought was working and then discovering it wasn’t is rather frustrating.
In short, when one considers the price and location, it’s difficult to complain about the state of the building. It’s lived in but clean and well-​kept: they really went all out on the Christmas decorations.

Most of the front desk staff was friendly. Hotel is strict on pool operating hours. Pool lights were never on at night.
The driveway to the hotel is very steep and hard to get up.
Everything in the room was unplugged which was an inconvenience. One of the light bulbs in a lamp was burnt out and another lamp shade was broken. Bed were very hard and uncomfortable.
Breakfast is continental plus biscuits and gravy. It surprised us that there was no yogurt, though.
Pretty views by the pool and deck. Deck had rocking chairs and picnic tables.
All of the furniture, linens and towels, etc. was mismatched and not very high quality. Also, the bath products are free samples.
This hotel needs major updating and upgrading. Overall not a good experience. Although, we did get this hotel (really motel) at a good rate, we will not be staying here again.

Pros– most of the staff was friendly, the breakfast was ok, views, deck, and decent rates.
Cons– HARD BEDS!!!(i’m talking boxsprings are more comfortable to sleep on), mismatched everything, No yogurt at breakfast, broken lamp shade, burnt out light bulbs, scratchy/​rough linens and towels.
