Holiday Inn Pigeon Forge

Okay so this is the second time we stayed here the first time it was horrible there was mold everywhere the wallpaper is peeling off the walls and there was blood on the curtains but they were very nice and offered us a second stay on them well it hasn’t got much better there’s still mold the wild paper still peeling all off in the shower the carpets are stained there’s dust everywhere and we call down to ask for an extra pillow and blanket and they tell us they’re out of them then we wake up in the morning and open the closet to iron a shirt and there’s two extra pillows and blankets and no one even mentioned will not stay here again

This was hands down the WORST hotel expirence I have ever had. Upon arrival we felt pretty good. Nice convention center, beautiful lobby decorated for Chistmas. But when we got to our room (120) we found that image was shattered. The room was dingy, small, and dirty. The beds were terribly uncomfortable and small (full size rather than queens). The bathroom vanity had dirt accumulated on it and visible mold on the walls. The room had a strange smell to it. The heater was terribly loud and has to run almost non-​stop through the night just to mantain 65 degrees. The pool aka the acid bath burned our daughters eyes so bad that we had to make a late run to Walgreens to get her some eye drops. The pharmacist actually advised us to take her to the ER in the morning. The pool bottom also had sand and pieces of rock that were supposed to be in the non functioning waterfall. Also huge pieces of paint were flaking off the rafters in the pool area. We were put here by IHG Vacations to look at the resort in Gatlinburg. I wouldn’t have bought the timeshare if they offered it for $ 1. If this is how they treat their prospective «owners» then I want absolutely no part. We actually fell in love with the area and will be returning in a couple of years but we will never do business with this chain in this area ever again. I travel some for work and had just started using the IHG points program recently but probably won’t use Holiday Inn/​IHG as much as I had planned on after this terrible expirence. This hotel is a prime example of how you can’t trust pictures on a website. Holiday Inns are normally a pretty safe bet but I will be more cautious in the future. Short of something that is new or a hotel I am familiar with I will probably quit using Holiday Inn. IHG/​Holiday Inn should feel ashamed of this place.

Rooms are very outdated. Bed in first room was uncomfortable… Bathroom also had mold present on the walls… Got moved to another room — no mold but bed was still uncomfortable. front desk assistant manager was rude upon check-​in — she seemed inconvenienced by us approaching her.

–Front Desk staff were very friendly, minus the rude manager (Jessica I think?) who checked us in

–Rooms are very outdated compared to other locations
–Lobby is deceiving. Don’t let the new appearance of the lobby fool you.
–Vending items on our floor were out of order
–Uncomfortable beds (at least in both rooms we were in)
–Lack of outlets to plug in items. Granted, the hotel is probably 30 years old so can’t really hold them to that.
Overall, I would probably never stay at this location again… Unless changes are made.

Stayed here from 9÷8−9÷11 for a church conference the service was great, the cleaning staff even left us a note and organized all our mess! The room wasn’t as spacious as I had hoped since most double twin rooms I stay at also feature a couch. But it’s a very spacious hotel with big lobbies and plenty of places to bring your friends. Don’t forget to bring a power strip! There’s like nowhere to plug in your stuff!

Personally I prefer holiday in plus but this hotel was great location and good view pool and hot tub small arcade and very nice staff. After a fiasco at vista tree in Gatlinburg with the bug problem and very rude service holiday inn was truly a blessing.

Rooms are very outdated, are not very clean, beds are ok. Bathroom very old. Pool area paint is peeling and failing from the ceiling and there was sand in the pool. My biggest complaint they charge too much for these room (double bed) and required a three night minimum since we were here for a car show. We will not be returning not worth the high price and hassle. Don’t bother I believe there are other hotels in area. They are not the only one in town.

Location is convenient, and room was adequate. The front lobby is nice, but the rooms could be updated a bit, however it was clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable though.
If you like to watch fireworks, ask for a room that faces the main road. Dollywood lets off fireworks nightly at 9:30 and we had a great view from our room.
Outlets are extremely limited. With all of our electronics we had the clock and all but one lamp unplugged. The bathroom we had only had one outlet as well. Incidentally, there was only one trash can in the room– None in the bathroom and one was sitting next to the TV. Room had a fridge and microwave. One elevator broken the majority of our stay (we were there 4 nights).
No continental breakfast, but kids eat free. Staff was very friendly.

The timeshare promotional package is a hoax to get you to the hotel and to get more money from the participants. The representatives of the program give misinformation and accuses the customer of missing the presentation to get you to pay full price. The staff does not work with you to reschedule the presentation and they charge an additional $ 600 to the promotional package.

This hotel really needs a renovation… it looks good from the outside. But the carpet is worn and dingy, the walls and doors are is poor condition and the room had stuff on the floor when we arrived. Had the price not been so high I would have dealt with it because we spent most if our time in the park… but I expect better when the hotel charges over 100 a night, discounted.

Mixed feelings on this place. We booked it on
, and the pictures were gorgeous. It’s located right off the pigeon forge strip too, which makes it super convenient. The outside is amazing, the lobby is amazing, the pool is amazing… then you take the elevator to your floor. The halls smell like old cigarettes, and the rooms are most definitely not what’s in the 48 pictures on
. They actually look nothing like the pictures. We switched rooms because our first room’s AC had fuzzy mold all over it. The second room has an active leak, like the wall and ceiling is wet. When we went to ask for a new room the receptionist was not nearly as warm and welcoming as when we first walked into the hotel. On top of having an active leak, the second room smells like old cigarettes, and the furniture has been beaten all to hell. I’m disappointed. We’re traveling across the country, and picked out this hotel because it was extremely nice on the website. This hotel seemed like the perfect catch! Then we left the lobby. So if you plan to never leave the lobby or pool, then THIS is the place for you. Otherwise it’s not what you’re expecting.

A nice property that I’d easy to get to. The rooms a are large and comfortable. I stayed here because of a convention. If I was coming to this area on vacation I would stay in Gatlinburg.

It’s located on the strip, that’s the best thing that it’s got going. If you like Cheddar’s, it’s a plus that it’s right next door. We have two in my town, so I wanted to venture somewhere new to eat… otherwise, I recommend trying Cheddar’s, especially if you’ve never.
I booked a room with two beds, but got all the way to the room and it was only one bed and the room smelled of smoke. They did switch us rooms and even brought the new keys to the room but the guy who brought them was just as unfriendly and awkward as the lady at check-​in.
The shower was stained and there was gum on the carpet of the new room. The bed was pretty comfy though.
I think all of the hotels in the area are always busy and the star ratings are a bit off because of the extreme volume of customers. There aren’t any four or five star hotels in this area. And I don’t really think this is a 3… I’d probably give it a 2 and a half. So if you’re looking for something a bit nicer or closer to a four star, look for a cabin… those are plentiful in the area.

Mixed reviews at best. The good is that it can be very cheap with no bugs. Don’t go when it is peak season. You will pay too much and get the worst of their service.
The pool is nice, even if very small for the size of the hotel. The waterfall gimmick is cute, but makes a lot of noise as the water crashes into the pool. It is heated, a nice thing in the winter. The hot tub is larger than average, but not in the best of shape. Some jets work, some don’t. The worst insult though is to have to ask at the front desk for pool towels. Then what they give you is really a face towel, too small for anything useful at a pool. Get to the pool early, as there is just a handful of tables and a few lounges.
The entire hotel suffers from a lack of AC power outlets. The two in our room were located behind the massive TV stand and behind the king size bed. Could not get to either, and so we had to power all our devices of an outlet built in to the lamp, which was worn badly and did not make reliable contact.
The internet speed is slow to much worse. Hope there is not much demand when you are trying to use it.
We never tried the food as the restaurant did not look very capable. Given the large number of cheaper better alternatives in walking distance, not sure why anyone would eat there. Do they even have a liquor license???
The staff was pretty friendly, and the girls did a nice job of making up the room.
I am not much of a TV person, but they had HBO but no on demand to make the kids happy. And you can not really watch anything over their internet…
Parking is adequate, but fills up so you may walk a ways. Still, while they charge for every little thing they can dream up, they don’t charge for parking. But forget to place the parking slip in your window, and you will get towed. $$$$$$
So overall, find a better place to stay when in the area. That should be very easy to do.

Decent location. Good that it is located off the road, helps buffer the noise from the highway and other activities nearby. Encountered friendly staff at check-​in and check-​out. For the price we paid, we were satisfied with the accommodations. Free morning coffee and USAToday was nice. Beds were comfortable. Lobby décor was nice; on the other hand, rooms are dated. Everything is definitely showing the wear and tear of being used. You sometimes have to put money in order to continue to get money out. Common areas need more attention – vacuuming, etc.
Would consider coming back if price was right. Otherwise, we spend more time in the woods and the room/​accommodations do not have to be fancy – just clean and comfortable.

We needed a hotel FAST because the one we had reservations at was horrible.
Luckily, this one had a room available AND when we enrolled in their rewards program we got a free 2pm checkout, AMAZING!
The rooms were clean, and well furnished. The hotel lobby was immaculate and beautiful, with a stone fireplace. The pool had a waterfall and looked wonderful.
The staff was incredibly friendly and easy to deal with. We will definitely visit this location again.

It starts with a noisy air conditioner, lose a star. Outlets to plug into? You’ll find them hidden at the head of the bed, you lose another star. The room is very dated a does not appear to be renovated in 2009; you lose another star. At least the bed was comfortable and the room was about as clean as it could be I guess. I am a business traveler and no I will not be staying here again.

I like staying at holiday inn where ever I go. This one is misleading. The lobby is nice, but that it. The rooms are outdated. The air doesn’t work very well. If the rooms match the lobby it would have been 5 stars.

GOOD: This hotel exceeded my expectations. After reading the reviews, I wasn’t expecting much. However, I was very impressed upon arrival. It’s very pretty! The outside, lobby area, and pool area were beautiful. The rooms were okay looking. Still, I didn’t complain because I didn’t plan to spend very much time in the room. However, the hotel did have some flaws.
BAD: First of all, the bathtub looked gross! I asked housekeeping to come clean it and it still looked gross! Second, I saw two nice-​sized bugs hanging out in the room with me. Third, the breakfast they served me was GROSS. How gross? I prepaid to eat breakfast 3 days and I still refused to eat it. By the way, why wasn’t breakfast complimentary? The grits — gross, eggs — runny, even the fruit was tasteless! My friend didn’t believe me so she went to get fruit and after 10 minutes she pushed the plate away because it just didn’t taste good! There were french toast sticks and they were hard. Unless the hotel only rolled this food out for my crew and me, their food just tastes terrible so don’t eat it.
IMPRESSIVE: Okay so we had several events in the hotel that all took place in either the ballroom or the pool area. We didn’t know that at first so, on 3 different occasions, we asked the front desk where one of our events was being held. They didn’t know! [blank stare] There were only two options!!! Still, these people were extremely friendly and overly tolerant of my very large group’s … shenanigans. :-D I saw some things that would have made any customer service clerk fight but they really remained patient!!! That’s a huge plus for them.

I have stayed here 8 times.
–The other reviewer is being nuts expecting a $ 60-​$ 100 per night hotel to be perfect
–The hotel staff is always friendly and goes out of their way
–The rooms are «Consistently» clean
–The pool is great
–Lobby is always relaxing
–Beds have pillow tops very nice
–Free wi-​fi just get the password at desk
–The parking is great
–Easy to get to rooms
–In eight stays I have had one problem and they gave me a new room as soon as I notified them of the problem
–For the money, this is a Super-​Great deal!-very relaxing.
