Tony’s Auto Service Center has been providing complete car care in Phoenix for over 50 years. We are a family-​owned business delivering honest, professional, reliable and courteous automotive repair and maintenance services on all makes and models, foreign and domestic .

Throughout Tony’s history we have seen monumental technological advances, such as electronic steering, continuously variable transmissions and hybrid vehicle technology, to name a few. Our technicians attend training classes throughout the year to stay up-​to-​date in these areas.

Tony’s has been awarded the AAA Top Shop Award for many years! Criteria includes quality of staff, number of ASE certified employees, customer satisfaction ratings, community service, awards and recognition.

I have worked at Tony’s since 1997. My experience is a little different than most since I am Tony’s sister. We were raised by parents that instilled unquestionable ethics and morals almost to the point of making money hard when doing business. Ethics is shown in so many forms and for me it has been in the compassion and honesty that is shown to all customers, employees and our community. For us ethics is not a challenge but the only way we conduct business.

I started as the bookkeeper and worked my way up to general Manager of the shop.

When I moved up the ranks and Tony spent less time in the shop, I became the customer advocate. Tony wanted me to always put myself in the customers shoes when any type of concern or issue arose and to think ahead before a job is sold to recheck pricing and possible warranty issues. I am a difficult customer to please sometimes as I expect as good as I give when it comes to service, professionalism and quality.

Overpriced and lost my trust right away. Was quoted $ 1,000 for a repair. I found another shop that could repair my car for a FIFTH of what Tony’s quoted. When I called back telling them I no longer needed their services, suddenly the price dropped down to $ 300. As a potential new costumer, I won’t be back.
Also, they charge $ 140 per hour for labor which is comparable to dealership pricing.

Tony’s auto provides excellent service! Tyler Grant– their lead mechanic– is extremely honest about car repair and fixes it the first time. He will list things that you should consider fixing in the future but addresses the most serious problem first. This guy knows his stuff!

This place was right near my apartment and had good reviews, so I took my car here for new breaks and tires. Very expensive. I no longer have a car, so I won’t need to come back. The staff were very friendly and helpful though.

I am an informed, educated customer who used to work on autos; and I was a crew chief on F-​15 Aircraft in the USAF — so I know what I am talking about in this review. I intend this review to be accurate and reasonable, to help others make an informed decision to NOT take their vehicle to Tony’s. On 04÷15÷15 I picked up my 2009 Range Rover Sport after it had been there 2 days for various repairs. I had never used Tony’s in the past. Even though I made a written list of all work I wanted done and gave it to Tony’s, they failed to clean the corroded battery terminals (and I had to point this out to them when I picked up the vehicle and had to wait for them to do the work). The mechanics at Tony’s cross-​threaded the cap onto the power steering fluid reservoir when they put the cap back on. The Range Rover had a pristine white interior when I dropped it off at Tony’s. But I got it back with grease, grime and black smudges all over the front driver’s seat, door handle, console, dash and even the hood and fenders, etc. I have photos to prove it (even after they supposedly cleaned the cabin after I complained). Next, I thought I would save money going here, versus the Range Rover dealer — WRONG! Without telling me verbally or in writing when I dropped off the vehicle for service, Tony’s added a $ 60.00 «supplies» fee and a $ 70.31 «Enviro and Technical Fee.» They dropped these charges when I complained. In any event, it is my opinion that Tony’s uses these $ 60.00 and $ 70.31 charges to price-​gouge customers. And as proven by the grease that was left on my seat, console, etc. these guys are true grease-​monkeys who do not take special care of customers’ vehicles. Stay away from Tony’s and take your car to the dealership or somewhere else. Also, when Tony’s finally cleaned my battery terminals, they caused all settings in the vehicle to be lost. If took me about 45 minutes to reset everything (memory seat, radio, security and lighting settings, clock, etc). Before they disconnected the battery, Scott at Tony’s told me that none of my settings would be lost, because they were supposed to use some sort of memory-​saver. But it obviously did not work.

I have been a AAA member for a long time. For years I took my vehicles to Marshall Motors that is only 5 blocks from my home. I got so tired of their constant failure to properly diagnose the problems with my cars that constantly broke down in the most inappropriate locations that required towing to that garage to try and fix something that they just couldn’t find. Usual remark: We couldn’t find anything wrong with your car!” I decided to use our Firestone Service Garage for a couple of years until one day when I needed a tow the driver suggested that I go to TONY’S Auto Service on East Thomas Road. Boy, was that good advice. First, the personnel were so darn friendly, ready to listen to my problem, and knowledgeable enough to voice a possible fix even before they looked at the vehicle. I have taken my vehicles to Tony’s three times now and each time I was treated courteously and my vehicles repaired the same day, paying for only what needed replacement on the car. I was immediately given a «New Customer» discount with a constant flow of discount coupons in the mail, «Discount on your next visit card» which have been applied to my bill without even mentioning it to them. (Something I never received from the «award winning» Marshall Motors, even after years of patronage.) The other day I called Tony’s for an appointment to have my car towed in because it wouldn’t start. I was asked to describe the problem, and over the phone I was given the solution. I called AAA Battery Service (who arrived within the hour, great service) and installed a new battery and my problems were over. Thanks to the friendly advice from Tony’s my day was saved I only paid for the cost of a new battery. Every mechanic at Tony’s is great and I like the fact that they take pride in keeping my old pride and joy ’95 Buick in tip top shape that seems to run better than my new Honda. I would recommend Tony’s Auto Service Center on East Thomas Road to everyone who wants their car repaired right the first time by guys who really take pride in their work.

New to the area and saw good reviews so called for an oil change and once over. Oil change was fine and fair priced. But then they told me that I needed a major rear brake job — to the tune of $ 1000+. So I checked two other shops and got quotes over 2⁄3 LOWER for the work. Got the work done at a different 5-​star Unilocal rated facility and am happy that Unilocal helped me find what I needed at a fair price. As for Tony’s, check it out. .. if you need an oil change.

Nothing like having a crazy busy day filled with meetings, etc… and walking out to your car to find a flat tire. Womp womp.
Now I don’t know much about auto repair, but I didn’t think my flat tire was that bad at quick glance. So, I figured it would be okay if I drove on it a bit. I started driving to my next meeting spot and called my husband to let him know that I’d be taking the car in later, when whoa — I got an earful from him. He had me take the car straight to the nearest service center (Tony’s). He said it was dangerous to drive on a flat and basically hung up on me for attempting to do so.
Luckily, Tony’s came to the rescue. It turned out the flat was caused by a screw in the tire. Scott took one look and said it wouldn’t be a problem to patch up. He also hooked me up with the Unilocal discount check-​in offer, which was better than the one for AAA members.
A couple of hours later, my tire was good as new!
Tony’s offers a complimentary shuttle to take customers to/​from their car, but I didn’t need to take advantage this time.
Needless to say, if you find that your auto needs service, I highly recommend heading over to Tony’s.

I’ve been taking my two cars to Tony’s Service Center for many years, and I continue to be amazed at their professionalism, their courtesy and their caring attitude. From the office staff to the experienced mechanics to the people they employ to give you a ride to and from their repair shop, they are, to a one, extremely helpful. I think what I like best is that Scott and Catherine tell me what my car needs, in order of priority. Then, with that, I’m able to decide what I can put aside until the next visit and what I need to attend to immediately, and that suits my budget just fine. What’s more, their repairs are done in a timely manner and are done properly. I think their charges are very reasonable for the level of service expertise that they provide. Many years ago, before I started taking my cars to Tony’s, I did business with another car repair shop. One time I had to take my car back three times before the items were fixed properly, and on two occasions, things came back broken that hadn’t been when I took my car in. It was maddening, and that’s when I switched to Tony’s Auto Service Center. Tony’s does the repair right the first time, and I’m back on the road, knowing that the problem has been fixed — period. In addition, record-​keeping at Tony’s is excellent. They maintain my car’s repair history back to the first day I brought it there. I have never dealt with care repair people whom I trust so implicitly. Their ethics are outstanding. It’s no wonder they have received so many awards for their service.

Just took my Jeep to Tonys for the first time and received the best service! I’m always wary of auto shops especially with the last shop that «helped» me but I could tell immediately that this place was different. Scott (the assistant manager) was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He made me feel like he wanted to earn my business, not just for the day but for life. Honest, Friendly and Caring. These guys educated me on so many repairs/​maintenance that I have been over paying for at my previous repair place. They did a fabulous job repairing my vehicle and they didn’t gouge me. Thankfully a residential move brought me to Tony’s, my new auto repair shop for life :)

My car broke down just a mile away from this shop. In a panic about getting back on the road asap, I took it to the nearest shop via tow. It was a 160 dollar charge just for them to look at the car. I should have examined under the hood before turning the vehicle over to them, because the timing belt was clearly split in half– my fault I should have been able to figure that one out. What I thought was ridiculous is that they quoted me over 1500 dollars for a new timing belt, seals and water pump. My dealer did the same repair for less than 800. I mentioned the high prices to some friends who live in the area and they told me of similar experiences of high quotes when they took their vehicle to Tony’s. Shop around before you take your car here

last week I had to get my truck emissions-​tested for MVD registration renewal. Drove to the testing center first thing in the morning, and it failed one of the three tests.
Drove to Tony’s, they drove me to work, picked me up after work and handed over my keys and the emissions testing ‘pass’ certificate.
They had fixed the clogged engine valve, and drove my truck down to the MVD testing center and had it re-​tested; it passed, of course, so I just mailed in the forms. That’s what I call first-​class service.

Do yourself a favor and take your car to good, honest people who aren’t going to try and sell you on unnecessary repairs and maintenance. The folks at Tony’s understand that everyone is on a budget these days. They have gone so far as to break down my list of needs in order of importance and price. Their cost has beaten the dealership as well as other repair shops every time. They have even picked me up at work so I don’t have to worry about getting a ride from someone. They go above and beyond every single time and to be quite honest, it’s nice just to walk into a place where they are happy and know your name. The Lil’ Red Jetta is in good hands.

I have taken my care here twice for major and minor repairs and all I have to say is this place has their sh*t together.
Very honest, super friendly, they are on twitter/​facebook, have coupons, coffee, follow-​up with a survey and they make you feel like they care about your time there. Compared to most mechanics — they are amazing!
I highly recommend taking your car to either location. They obviously care about their business and don’t treat it as a hobby.

I am stunned that mine is the first review of Tony’s Auto Service Center. This is a family-​owned business that has served residents in the Arcadia area for decades.
They are fabulous. They are competent, honest, and friendly. Their prices are quite fair. I trust them totally. I have always had great experiences there.
I am not a car lover. I want my car to run. That is all. Anyone can tell that is easy to take advantage of me, but Tony’s never does. A recent experience showed me how truly terrific they are: The other day, I brought one (very old) car to them that needed a brake job and I told them I thought something else was wrong as well. They did a diagnostic and found multiple problems. I decided it was time to give up the ghost and replace the car in lieu of making the repairs… this was fine with them. My other car had a very minor problem in that it was easily fixed… but it was crucial to me so that I could be comfortable driving. They fixed it in less than a minute… no charge.
I wish all businesses could run like Tony’s.
