Our services range from spectacle and contact lens exams to the therapy of intricate vision problems in children and adults. Our care extends to the treatment of complex medical eye conditions such as dry eye, infections, traumas, allergies, keratoconus, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disorders.

We utilize the latest contact lens materials in order to provide our patients with comfortable, healthy contacts, and the best in sight. Our patients take advantage of our multifocal contacts that allow you to see far away and read without the use of glasses.

We offer the latest technology available in custom contacts that provide patients with high prescriptions, high astigmatism, radial keratotomy (RK), or keratoconus great vision.

In addition, we provide vision therapy for children and adults with traumatic brain injuries. Lastly, Athletes of all levels can enhance their performance through our sports vision training program.

Dr. Roger J.

Business Owner

Dr. Juarez has a Doctoral degree in Optometry from UC Berkeley, where he earned a graduate fellowship award for leadership, and three clinical honors in areas of Primary Care, Contact Lenses, and Binocular Vision.

Dr. Juarez also as a Biomedical Engineering degree, graduated Cum Laude and as a Tau Beta Pi Honoree. His engineering experience includes work with Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and LifeScan, a Johnson & Johnson company. He currently offers consulting services in engineering and lectures on System Theories and Lean strategies.

Dr. Juarez is founding faculty of the Arizona College of Optometry, former Director of Primary Eye Care Procedures, as well as an Adjunct Clinical Professor. While at the university, he served on various committees and reviewed journals for the American Academy of Optometry. In addition, Dr. Juarez helped develop the first Optometry school in Central America and helped expand eye care to many of those in need.

Today, Dr. Juarez is President of TVC.

Doctor Jaurez And his staff were absolutely wonderful in helping me with my extreme case of corneal deterioration. I had lost hope in being able to see clearly ever again and with his and his staffs help I was able to get into a pair of specialty lenses that gave me my eyesight back. We went from my wife headed to describe what was going on on the TV, to seeing it for myself. My wife went back to him for her contact needs, and each time we had gone for follow-​up visits we’ve had a pleasant and very accommodating experience. These people were very caring and understanding in dealing with both my disability and my vision issues and concerns. In addition they worked with our very unique financial situation and allowed us to follow through with our process without worry. We would wholeheartedly recommend them.

I made my appointment yesterday and was able to be seen the next day. I brought my 8 and 5 year old for eye exams and we have had the best experience. The facility is up to date with today’s technology. Student intern Lidia Tekie was so caring and attentive to my 5 year old who was nervous. They played with each other until my daughter was calm. There were iPads that were available for use. I have made this facility outer official eye doctor. Both Victor Calderon, OD and Roger Juarez, OD
were amazing with my kids. They are truly passionate about providing the best care!

I’ve been coming to the vision center for quite some time now. Everyone is always so helpful and great. Appointments are always on time and I never have to wait. They also have great hours for those who have hectic work schedules like I do.

I don’t know why there are bad reviews on this clinic. I’ve been going to Dr Juarez for years now since before he opened this location and he’s always been professional, personable, and never rude! He even jokes around with me whenever I come in! I will continue to come to him and very highly recommend his practice to anyone. I also done think he overcharges. Never had any of the problems «some other» reviewers have said they have had.

I do NOT understand some of these reviews! My 16 year old was complaining of dark squiggly lines «floating» in his vision. I was obviously concerned as nothing was in his eye so I asked a friend for a referral as we are new to town. I was referred here, called, and Rose answered the phone where I explained the situation. She said she needed to speak with the doctor and would call right back. She did in about 2 minutes. The doctor wanted to see my son immediately and could get me in within hours. This doctor was SO PROFESSIONAL, so friendly, very personable and fantastic with my son. He explained everything step-​by-​step while going through different examinations. He was very thorough in his exam to ensure my son did not have a retinal detachment. The news was good but the idea of my child losing his vision was very scary and stressful. Dr. Juarez was so comforting through this time that I felt fortunate it was him my son was being examined by. He answered every question my son or myself asked with great explanation and also was very detailed in telling us what my son needed to watch for in the upcoming months. He said we «did the right thing» by calling right away. We will be returning for a follow up in the upcoming months. THANK YOU Dr. Juarez for being so amazing! We are so fortunate to have found an amazing eye doctor we trust and will continue to see. Side note, the office/​waiting room is amazing. You cannot get bored as they have TV to watch but iPads to use (although we didn’t have to wait but got to use them while my sons eyes were dilating). Trust me. See this doctor!

I have been a patient of The Vision Center for the last 3 years, and I can say with 100% certainty that I have never had a more professional, comprehensive, and detailed eye exam. Dr. Juarez is caring and personable. The staff is attentive and very friendly. I had a hard prescription that no other doctor was able to perfect. I have referred many of my friends and family and they have nothing but great things to say about him and his team. I am definitely a fan and will never go anywhere else for my eye care needs.

I have to admit we were a bit leery about making an appointment here after reading the reviews but my husband and I both had a good experience. The office is very nice and the equipment is state of the art. The office is open on Saturday and that is an added bonus. I didn’t think the doctor was rude or condescending. He was very personable as well as knowledgeable. All of the staff was also very nice and helpful. They also have a good selection of glasses. Both times we had the last appointment so we kept the staff there after closing and go home time but they never seemed irritated or put out. I’m glad we gave them a chance!

[Updated. See below.] I too got a condescending and rude Dr. Juarez here. I came in knowing what I needed, and he intentionally sent me home with a trial pair of contacts a full 1.0 weaker than my normal prescription. When I told him upon inserting them that I couldn’t see well, he said «wait for them to adjust» and would not give me another pair.
Upon returning a few days later, he agreed to go a point higher which was still not enough, and refused to redo my eye exam to get the correct prescription. He also told me to go ahead and buy glasses with the same previously bad prescription saying «I did it myself, I know it’s right». Either it’s not right, or you sent me home with contacts that WEREN’T my prescription doc, so which is it?

As I write this I’m still in a week-​old trial pair holding out for a redo of my exam and the proper prescription. Just called in and was told «we can get you in as soon as a week from now». What a joke. Never had issues like this.
Update: It seems the doc and I were both having an off day on my first visit. We’re all human — it happens. I went in for my final followup appointment and we jived much better. Even though I didn’t get contacts due to some insurance and pricing issues, I left a much more satisfied customer.
The doctor has since read my review and called me personally, genuinely concerned that our much better appointment hadn’t met my expectations. I informed him that on the contrary it had, that I had written this review prior. Even after I told him we were cool, he insisted he do right by me since they made a mistake, and did me a large favor toward correcting my insurance issues, which I appreciate.
I may have misjudged Dr. Juarez. in the end he did seem to care very much about this patient’s well-​being and opinion over money. I applaud any man big enough to admit when he’s made a mistake in person, and any business that listens to their customers.

Dr. Juarez and his team are so awesome. Went in this weekend to get our annual eye exam. Love the new space! Had toys for my son to play with and he was able to watch Frozen while we got our eye exam. His interns were super awesome and professional. Dr. Juarez was very professional. Didn’t need new glasses so didn’t have to buy new ones unless I wanted to. The husband didn’t need new glasses either, he just bought some really cool prescription sun glasses. Definitely would recommend this eye doctor to anyone.

Dr. Juarez is rude to not only his interns but also his patients. He overcharges by exorbitant amounts. I have excellent vision insurance and even after the part my insurance pays for, my part was more than I would be charged anywhere else if I was self pay. Dr. Juarez talks down to his patients. I don’t know if he thinks he is superior because he graduated from Berkley, but in reality he is not as good as doctors that I have seen that graduated from less prestigious schools. All in all, I would say stay away from this clinic. The doctor is rude and condescending and rips off his customers. His staff never follows up with the patients like they are supposed to. They have yet to call me to find out if the contacts that I was trying worked for me… that was in November and it’s March now. Complete waste of money. Trying to get your prescription for glasses is like pulling teeth. Please don’t bother with these people… go elsewhere.
