Sexton Pest Control

Our temporary condo uses Sexton and so we just followed along but I won’t use them in the house we just bought. It seems they think the way to run a business is hire some minimally licensed providers and give them a truck and let them loose with VERY little processes and procedures. If you look at the posts about the company you see ample evidence. I don’t think they are trying to be a rip I just think they don’t get it that you have to have procedures that work. When someone quits you better get all the clients keys for instance, in fact better if you keep the key in the office except for the days your tech is servicing. You have to have a good accounting system and a good appointment scheduling system that can actually turn someone on and off. You have to have a procedure that works when someone will only be at their house part of the year as is extremely common here. The procedure would not say, post a note on the gate you can’t get in and then forget about it. it’s too bad, it’s hard to start a business and hard to keep one running so I feel for the owners, I think, but they need help getting their processes and procedures down.

Sexton kills it! Literally! I’m really happy with the service and the techs I’ve met have have been professional and friendly. I’ve used several different PC companies, but I have found my last one. Thanks for the good work Sexton and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a great company.

Sexton has got to be the worst run outfit in Phoenix. I prepaid for 1 year of bi-​monthly service and gave them a key to my yard gate as I am only there 5 months of the year. They came 3 times while we were in Phoenix but apparently the technician who was assigned our house, quit the company and didn’t turn in our gate key. We were unaware of this and left for the summer. The new technician showed up after we had left and couldn’t get in as he had no key. No one called us, he left a note on the gate. No other technician made a call for the rest of the summer. When we returned in the fall the yard was full of crickets and I called Sexton to find out why they hadn’t come. They claimed they did. After arguing with the «supervisor» they agreed to provide 2 more service calls to fulfill the 1 year contract (they owed me 3). I agreed and they did come twice while we were there then we left again in the spring.
When we returned for a short time in the summer, 6 overdue notices had been sent to us in the mail. I phoned to find out why they thought I owed them money. They claimed they made a service call on a date when we were not there. I told them that wasn’t likely as we were gone before the date they claimed to have come and so they couldn’t have got into the yard as they had no key and why did they come anyway, I hadn’t renewed the service. After some more argument they agreed to void the bill and close my account. We left again.
Two months later I got a call from Sexton telling me there was a technician at my place but he couldn’t get in because the gate was locked!!!
Don’t go near these bozos, life is too short.

RIP OFF ALERT!
I would not recommend these guys. I paid for a scorpion treatment $ 120 bucks and then $ 40 monthly pest control to kill the food source. Long story short I still had scorpions, crickets and bugs after 3 months of food source control and the scorpion treatment. (I think they watered down the chemicals since they couldn’t kill the crickets). I was told it took awhile for the chemicals to work by one of the girls in the office. 3 months is more than enough time for chemicals to set in!
Another interesting fact — I told the tech I believed it was possible the scorpions were coming from my attic. I asked if they could treat the attic and I was told it was illegal to do this. Interestingly, I found a new company that will treat the attic and they said it was not illegal but that Sexton just didn’t offer the service so lied in order to keep my business.
The girls who work in the office are not friendly and when you want to cancel their service you can’t just do so over the phone. They have to send you to a supervisor! If a supervisor isn’t in the office one will call you back. Ridiculous!

This is the worst company when it comes to setting up service and having the charge debit from your account! I had a rental property listed for termite service and when try to set up services at my promise home for pest they set it up for both properties. I got double charge for services when I didn’t authorize both of them. Called in and was told I would get a month of service free due to inconvenience. The next month came and I got charge again. They have now debited my account two times without authorization. Do not give them credit cards for auto debit! You will have changes come out without your notice. Also tried their AC service which was a joke. They were suppose to change filter but didn’t and within two weeks of them checking my AC it went out. I end up going with another company due to their poor service. I will say they have a decent termite service and I haven’t had issues with that. But that is about all I will use them for.

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!! I have cancelled our account now 4 separate occasions and they are unable to grasp HOW to cancel the accounts, they keep showing up!!! To top it they were over charging us $ 200 monthly!

I hired Sexton to take care of some pigeon issues I was having on my roof. From the start I had nothing but problems with them. There was little to no communication from my salesman once I signed on the dotted line. He wouldn’t even answer his phone when I called with questions. From there it took 4 separate appointments spanning over a months time to get what was schedule for one day completed. Out of the 4 appointments their technicians showed up late to 3 of them. I even had to call their office to find out if they were going to show up at all. It got to the point where they told me they had fired their techs that came and didn’t get the work done and was supposed to have their service manager himself deal with the work (he also showed up late and without the tools needed for the job) at the point where my frustration was overwhelming I spoke with both the scheduling manager and owner himself Kent Sexton who were both very rude. The owner wouldn’t even let me explain my issues without cutting me off and defending his business from things I hadn’t even explained. This company has terrible customer service and the work was sub par at best. If looking for pest control service I highly suggest you look elsewhere. I will never consider them again for service of any kind.

I just received a voice-​mail from a Sexton solicitor to service an address we haven’t had in over three years! I’m on the National Do-​Not-​Call List, so they should not be calling me in the first place! I obviously have not been a customer recently, or they would have know my current address for more than two years! Put them out of business!

I have been using Sexton since 2012. My regular technician, Paul, is fantastic! He is very polite, always on time, if not early, flexible when my schedule isn’t and is always making sure I am happy. He really spends the time resolving my bug (ants mostly) issues. He is super friendly with my 3 dogs, even brings them dog treats! I am so happy with my monthly pest control that I have Sexton as my termite service also. They stand by their service and I would highly recommend them. Paul is the BEST!

My husband was already using Sexton when he and I married five years ago. We have always had the same tech, Paul. They have been fantastic about rescheduling when I have needed to, calling and emailing me a reminder and changing my regular time to a later one. A couple of times we have had trouble with ants. Both times our tech came back and treated for them. That is the ONLY pest problem we have experienced. Paul is courteous and goes above and beyond to provide quality service. He brings my dogs treats and is friendly with my grandchildren. The single time we had a sub, the young man tracked in mud and left a ring on the carpet from his can. Paul NEVER enters without the protective paper booties, He is always cheerful, always polite. Thanks from Ed and I for the great service, Paul. Sexton should be proud to have you on their team.

these people are idiots. I used to live in AZ. I now live in So Cal. they keep phoning me to get my business. I tell them I have moved to another state, they apologize and say they’ll remove me. give it a month and the muppets are phoning again. we go through the same shit again.
Now they’re phoning asking for my wife. who cares where my wife is, I live in a state you don’t service, STOP CALLING ME. Ok sir, if your wife isn’t there we’ll call back.AAAAAARGHHHHHHH.
OK time to report these brain dead morons to the Do Not Call Registry.
Obviously Sexton listens to Celine Dion and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Phenomenal… That is all I can say. What a professional company. From the moment that I found them online to calling them to schedule the appointment to when the tech showed up to our house to spray. I could not be more happy! We have been having problems with scorpions and they treated for them and we have seen less and less. The tech walked us through everything to look for and what to do to be sure that we keep the scorpions from entering our home. He also sprayed and took care of the other bugs /​pests that we have been having issues with. I would recommend Sexton Pest Control to anyone that is looking for an honest, reputable company that gets the job done!

Do NOT be fooled by the BBB rating. Companies pay to belong to the BBB. Take heed. I have a trail of emails going back eight months, all full of empty promises and outright lies «oh, I didn’t know we were supposed to treat THAT part of the yard». How many times can you say that IN WRITING before you just look incompetent? Sexton, you should be embarrased and ashamed. Trust me, I have NEVER taken the time to give anyone a review of any kind, good or bad. Took my money for over a year and accomplished NOTHING. My gopher population actually increased on their watch. I think they feed them.

Tired of this company. Cancelling my service. I’m only with them because of a merger with another company. They beyond suck. Got stung by a scorpion last night and washed down a huge spider in the tub prior to giving my grandbaby a bath the night before. They make sure to deduct my account every month but fail to make sure they are controlling the pests in and around my home. And like one other Unilocaler said. I would be gone a few minutes and come back to an invoice. How the hell do you spray in and out of a house in a few minutes and have the nerve to leave an invoice?

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! We accidently sent them a check not meant for Sexton and they cashed it. We have been calling them for over a month with empty promises for a refund. they cashed a check they had no business cashing and will not return the money. we have now threatened to contact the attorney general and go through an attorney and only then did I get a call back… only to be asked for the check information for the 7^th time and again saying they would have to get back to me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Lots of empty promises. I own a house in Scottsdale. We have a warranty, they have been out 5+ times to stop the termites in the SAME area and with NO SUCCESS. It takes one to two weeks to respond. People in customer service are horrible. Thumbs down.

Its hot and the pesky bugs and insects are coming out to play and like to leave bite marks all over us while we are peacefully sleeping in the comfort of our own home.
Grrr … who invited these little boogers into our house?
We have been customers of Sexton off and on since 2006. We signed up again this week because of the above mentioned. Monthly service is $ 39 or $ 68 for bi-​monthly service and at least last week anyway there was no initiation fee.
Great service. Always on-​time. Courteous and professional. The job gets done and no more little uninvited guests in the house.

I’m not convinced they ever actually did anything. I finally canceled after a bill showed up stuck in my door when I returned from a 10 minute walk with my dog (and they weren’t there when we left for the walk). No pest control service can spray around the entire outside of your house (and do a decent job), write out an invoice, and be completely gone in under 10 minutes.
Oh, and them «spraying» never put even a slight dent in the bug population.

I live in Phoenix and began using this service last year on my neighbor’s recommendation (they said she’d get a referral discount, which she never got). They make a lot of empty promises, they call you to scheudle appointments for service (when they have a key to the gate and therefore no appointment is necessary ’cause you don’t have to be there), you can only call them during regular business hours (when YOU are at work), you sit on hold for 10 mins waiting for a rep to pick up the phone, they don’t show up when they say they will, it goes on and on. Save yourself the hassle; pay a few extra bucks and go elsewhere! This company is run by a bunch of disorganized yahoos!
Update: When they returned the key to my gate, it wasn’t my key. Big Surprise!
