Move Smart Moving

All of the best of intentions and politeness, still, do not, a good move make. I am compelled to write this review as «Upper Management» has not attempted to reach me after I left two messages. This was my experience: Nice guys all. Hardworking and dedicated, but my crew lacked the skills needed to provide a clean move. Showed up on moving day with a truck I told them would be too small, After being told by the salesman on the phone to trust his foreman, 7– 8 hours later-​the truck was too small. Also within that timeframe they ran out of boxes, tape, etc… and went to lunch/​Home Depot for 2 hours and bought more materials… and then charged me for them! They went to get a trailer, which they said they would pull with the too small truck. 2 hours later came back with a rented U-​Haul trailer that I said… wait for it… would be too small to finish too! I was told by the foreman that he was a good packer. Guess what? too small again! now at hour 10 they all left again to get another (U-​Haul) truck to unload the trailer contents into, come back to my house then load the rest of the stuff and get on the road. Ok, cut to the chase-​I was still helping the tired crew of 3 unload my stuff at 0200 in the morning-​yes, the next day-​at hour 16 of the day! Many other ridiculous and un-​skilled events happened throughout the day as well, but to cover all of them would make this too long. The important thing to note is the carelessness with which these guys «packed» my stuff. Numerous items broken, bent, smashed, chipped, and incorrectly/​un-​repairably disassembled. Of course I only noted 3 Major breakages while helping them load/​unload (I helped or it would have been 20 hours). At around 1 o’clock a.m. I was asked by the foreman to make an assessment of the noted items for replacement cost. He called the sales person to approve my guess as to how much it would cost to replace these items-​the salesman deducted this from the cost. After unpacking it became clear that this figure was was negligible considering all the damages noted during the ensuing days of unpacking. I took pictures of everything, and at only one-​quarter of the way of unpack I sent an email to the customer service department with a number of pics attached. I had a voicemail from a member of «upper management» waiting for me hours later-​it came in as I was sleeping. I called back and left a message-​twice-​that I was interested in talking with them about my damages and overall experience. The response? crickets! I still haven’t heard a thing back, I shouldn’t have to hound someone from «upper management» into doing what is professionally responsible. We are almost totally unpacked now and there is noted damage to something in about 1 of every 4 boxes unpacked, along with numerous furniture items. I will not use this company again, nor can I recommend them.

Move Smart Moving is the best moving company in the valley hands down! They were very professional, timely, courteous and efficient. They came by and loaded my things within minutes! I could not make it to the storage facility so I had to entrust them with a key and to deliver my things. They left the key with the front desk as we discussed and there were no issues. I have to say I was impressed with their level of work and care. They are worth doing business with and deserve all 5 stars!

Move Smart Moving was the absolute best choice for us with our move from Phoenix, AZ to San Francisco, CA. This was our first move out of AZ, and we were uncertain if we could find a company we could really trust, but Move Smart Moving was exactly the company we were looking for. Joel was the main representative we worked with, and he was very reliable. The leader of our move was Augustine, who was also great! Incredible customer service, very prompt communication, great and guaranteed pricing, very professional and friendly movers, timely service – the whole package. Everything arrived in perfect condition! We highly recommend them. We’ll definitely use them for our future moves!

I contracted Move Smart after conducting a lot of research on quality and pricing … it certainly didn’t hurt that ABC 15 featured them as well. They were reasonably priced and had absolutely NO hidden fees … they are also the only company I saw that didn’t charge a «truck fee,» so that was also a plus.
The movers showed up on time, and I even received an email when they were en route to the house. We had a three-​man crew show up, and once they arrived they immediately got to work. They collapsed all beds, desks, etc, and loaded them up — to their credit they also grabbed some of the loose items that I hadn’t boxed up and put them safely on the truck. A monsoon and dust storm rolled through as well, and when they saw it coming they closed up the truck but continued packing /​moving things inside to ensure no time was lost. I was very impressed with that.
We had a relatively short move, only about 15 miles, and it took 4 hours, which I thought was reasonable. They also charge in 15-​minute increments, so it’s nice they did not round up to 5, charging me an extra hour in the process.
The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because a few days after the move, my fiancé and I decided to move one of the beds to another room, and as I was disassembling it I found three of the screws in the bed frame had been stripped. One had actually broken off in the frame itself, so they drilled a new hole and replaced the screw. Because the bed had been reassembled I had already signed off that there was no damage, and frankly, they did take good care of the furniture during the move (wrapping everything in blankets and shrink wrap), but I would have like to have been notified that the screws were stripped.
Still, I understand things happen and frankly a 3 10-​cent screws at Ace Hardware did the trick anyways.

They were awesome! I had a limited budget and they stuck to it without any issues — and moving into a 2^nd floor apartment. The guys were friendly and pleasant to be around even at the end of their day. No hidden fees, no scams and no damages to any of my items!

On Sept 19 I moved with these people. The guys they sent were polite and worked hard. It was the second time I had used this company. First time they put a crease in my freezer drawer on my fridge. I didn’t complain I just chalked it up to things happen. First time it was 2 guys and a 16ft truck. Took them 4 hours to move me from a one story to a two story. Second time it was 3 guys and a 24 foot truck and it took them 6.5 hours to do it. I was exhausted and had a paper shoved at me to sign that everything was fine, nothing broken. I told the guy I had no way of knowing that so he said then go through it all piece by piece. I signed the paper out of exhaustion, Next morning my 1800.00 stove that was set in the garage had a cracked glass top. I called, they said they weren’t responsible because I didn’t take out the insurance they offered me. They never offered me any insurance. I fortunately did take a picture of the front page of what I signed because they didn’t bring any paperwork to give me, not professional at all. They offered me 125.00 and just the top cost 420.00, no labor to put it on the stove. I said no and argued for days with them, they said they would pay it in house and give me 185.00. I still said no, They said all I had was .60 a pound for payment. But the front page said I had a $ 250 deductible so therefore I had more than the minimum insurance they were saying I would be paid at according to the laws I looked up on the net. Long story short they finally did order the top from a «sister» company and bring it to my house one full month after they broke my stove. I got to put the top on the stove myself. I had to resort to telling them I was going to see what I could do legally about it before they would do anything other than tell me it wasn’t their problem. Cassundra is always out of the office for days according to her when things don’t get done. I need to cook at home because I am a celiac and she knew this. The stove top came in on Sat according to her and it took until Wed for her to bring it to me and they wouldn’t allow me to come pick it up. If you go to their office address the receptionist will ask if you have an appointment and not let you in. My suggestion is move it yourself or hire someone else. The guys that do the work are great but the company itself isn’t.

Move Smart Moving made our move a breeze! From the first phone call to the last piece of furniture that was put in the living room Move Smart Moving was extremely thorough, very professional and great to work with! They were even early arriving to begin the move. There were no hidden fees or extra charges even though we had three stops and moved into a third floor apartment. I can highly recommend Move Smart Moving. They do great work and will save you money and time.
