Move For Less

Rude, messy and doesn’t care. This company moved my neighbors in across the street. They decided to use my driveway as a turnaround point for their big trucks. They ran over my plants and left a LOT of nasty black marks on my driveway. When I asked them to please clean it off, they said they would but then they left without doing so. I called the company the next day and the guy told me I should get laundry soap and go out and scrub it off myself! If that’s how they treat someone who isn’t even a client, whose property they trespass on and then damage, how would they treat my possessions if I was using them to move?! Stay away from these guys!!!

I was scheduled between 8am to 10am. They showed up an hour late. I was quoted a job for 2 ½ hours. They had 1 bedroom and livingroom and kitchen to move. It ended up taking 5 hours. They took their time on the move even standing around. One guy went into my bathroom for 30 min. Finding a bloody q-​tip in my toilet was the final straw. i thought. Boxes were lost and personal family antiques. They broke nieghbors light without saying a word. Trying to file a claim or cplain seems to get you no where. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

It hardly needs saying after all of the other negative reviews, but Moves for Less is awful. They broke my furniture and overcharged me. They are crooks. I should have read these reviews before booking them.

My husband set up the reservation for this company. They were supposed to show up between 8 – 10 am. They called and said it would be 11 which was okay. At noon I called and was told they would be at the location in 20 minutes. They did not arrive until 1:20. It then took them four hours to load the truck and placed them in the middle of rush hour. They did not change Miley’s the project until 10 pm, I was told this would be a 2 – 3 hour job. They also damaged my house. Do not use this company. These are the worst people you could deal with. They are refusing my calls and emails, but damn sure they took my money.

BECAREFUL! I had a very bad experience with this company. I requested a quote and I was given a quote which was WAY TO HIGH from other companies. I never confirmed the service but they sent the truck to my house on the day of move without my confirmation and I never used there service and was charged money on credit card. be VERY VERY CAREFUL with this company and think before asking QUOTE.

My interactions with Move for Less resulted in the loss of hundreds of dollars. I was cheated out of hundreds of dollars to move furniture after first being quoted an amount and then having this price changed when presented with the bill. It is a fact that I was quoted an amount by a representative of Move for Less on the phone. This amount that I was quoted was later changed after the workers moved my furniture. I was presented with a bill for hundreds of dollars more than I was quoted. Therefore, I was victimized by being deceived to think the move would cost me half of what the final price was demanded. The loss of money after being lied to by this company does not end here. The price was not only doubled, but I was also cheated out of a $ 100 dollar deposit. I asked for confirmation E-​mails and they were never sent. My girlfriend asked for confirmation E-​mails and they were never sent. It is a fact that I was not only cheated out of around $ 200.00 but the $ 100.00 was also taken.

Absolutely the WORST moving company you could possibly hire. If I could give negative 10 stars I would. Not only should they be out of business, but they should be in jail for the criminal scam of demanding more money they charge you before they’re done holding your property for ransom. THIEFS! Pure and simple. We were forced to pay over $ 1400 for an 5×8 storage unit to be moved. We also paid for their time to go and eat breakfast, time for them to go shopping at Home Depot for the moving supplies they didn’t have and a smaller rental truck to use in the storage facility, because the completely empty semi they brought to move a 5×8 wouldn’t fit. JAIL, is where they belong!!! HELL after that!!! PURE SCUM BAGS! POS Worthless so called human beings.

Worst company ever do not use them! Fraudulent is an understatement. I got lucky with the driver of the nice being his 1^st day & an honest person to tell me that this moving company had moved my furniture to another location. They arrived hours late by the time we reached to storage facility it was conveniently closed. They said they would store my belongings overnight & it would be safe. The next day I find out it was moved & they wanted to charge me now for 5 hours of labor instead if the 2 that had taken. I’m still without my belongings & have involved the authorities.

On March 27^th 2013 I hired Move 4 Less to move my home furnishings. It was the worst mistake I could’ve made.
I scheduled the move to have 4 movers at the price of $ 125 a hour. They called the day of to let me know they’d be hours late, when they did show they showed up it was with only 3 movers, (1 appeared to be about 14, one about 16, and another was a gentlemen who didn’t speak english) a supervisor, (John) and his 11 year old son along. (John is also the guy all calls to Move 4 Less get directed to when you call them.) John stole food out my kitchen to feed himself and purposely took way more time than needed to move my belongings.
Once they finally packed my stuff, he took his time getting to my new location, where along the way he picked up a random guy to help with the 2^nd half of the moving. Once all my belongings were brought into my place I couldn’t help but notice that every single piece of furniture they moved was damaged, chipped, scratched and/​or broken. When I looked for John top see what he was doing, he was sleeping in his semi truck. I asked his employee to get him but before he did the employee asked if I was going to tip them, and if so to make sure I gave it straight to them because he didn’t trust John. After John woke up he came inside to access the damage he said «all my furniture was already broken before the move.» Gave me a E-​mail account to email about the damages and then over charged me for the move.
Not only did they break my entertainment center, scratch /​dent /​chip every piece of furniture they moved but they also thru in hidden fees and overcharged my card with them. A move that should’ve taken 2 hours and been only $ 250 was dragged out to 3 hours, and I was charged $ 418 for it.

Worst moving company ever! They damaged my furniture, damaged the walls, and over charged me. I only had a bedroom set, living room set, and a few boxes to move and they took 5 hours. I was literally moving down the street. I ended up paying almost $ 600 for the move. I will never use them again and I hope others do the same.

No way should you consider these guys. Caused significant damage to property and denied any responsibilty. Would not even give name of insurance carrier or agent. Very frustrating to deal with.

Marty, the sales guy, was good, followed up and returned my calls quickly.
They did not charge extra for moving a piano, or for using shrink wrap, which put them over and above other moving companies I called.
Marty recommended getting 120 pads from the truck rental company, and now I know why: if it isn’t boxed or wrapped, it will end up damaged somehow. I did not get 120 pads because 1) the truck rental person I spoke with did not agree that I needed that many and 2) it costs quite a bit which I had to pay up front. It wasn’t like I could just take as many as I thought I’d need and return the ones I didn’t use for no charge. No, my card would have been charged and then refunded later, but who wants that hassle? So, you should probably pony up for all those pads if you decide to use this company.
The movers weren’t bad guys, but, I think they were in a hurry and a little careless. Our refrigerator, dining table chairs, my hope chest, and TV were all damaged either with scratches or, in the case of my hope chest and TV, broken parts.
We had 3 movers and the last 2 of the 4 hours they were at our house, the third guy was mostly standing around. But, kudos to Move For Less, when we told them that was the case, they charged us the 2-​man rate for 2 hours instead of the 3-​man rate. Additionally, we knew the TV was broken before they left, and broken by their guys. The guys called the main office to tell them, and the management offered to give us another TV. While that was a nice gesture, we were leaving the state the next morning, and it was 7pm. We did not have time to go and pick up a TV. We would have just preferred a price reduction.
So, all in all, they were okay. I thought their pricing was fair and competitive. I thought the charge for the 2-​man rate was a good solution. But, I am pretty sad that our things ended up damaged in small ways. And, I think the packing of the truck could have been done better so as to prevent those small damages.

Called to schedule a local move, placed deposit on credit card for agreed hourly charge for 2 men and a truck.
Day of move, truck does not show at 8 am scheduled time. Call at 9 am to be advised their records had 12 noon. (Later to find out by disgruntled employee who came in at 7 am for the 8 am move they were just short staffed). At noon, receive a call the truck will be late as it is having a tail light repaired and would I mind 3 men instead of 2 as that was what was sent out with that truck already in the field. Agreed just to get it done.
Truck arrives at 2pm (6 hours LATE), advised I now had to pay by cash although original agreement was credit card. I declined and adjustment was me on the contract to reflect form of payment to be credit card.
I was given a phone to speak with a supervisor, he advised their credit card machine was down and there were no guarantees. Currently as a credit card company employee, I advised they could call it in and that I was VERY familiar with credit card protocol as I do it for a living.
Truck gets loaded, arrive at my storage unit only to be advised the main office called and unless I pay in cash in full right then they were going to take my items to they were going to take my items to their warehouse and hold them ransom.
I asked to speak with a supervisor, and asked if he called the card in. He said: «This is America and we accept Legal Tender» He advised pay in Cash or I was not going to receive my items. He was very rude, condescending and it was a total bait and switch from the original phone agreement as well as in breach of the terms of the signed contract.
I hope this will help others from experiencing such a nightmare
