Established in 1997.

Since the formation of the company, Mountain West has done business predominantly with repeat clients. We have performed a variety of Construction Services for our clients who keep coming back, based on our ability to deliver value to a project, without compromising quality. We have acquired a significant number of projects which were initially over budget, but were made viable by our skill at optimizing systems and materials. We have repeatedly demonstrated our ability to achieve budgetary goals, because we are team oriented, and have the experience to work effectively with Owners, Architects and Engineers closely to design cost effective projects.

Business Owner

Mike Cook is the Principal of Mountain West. He has been in the construction business for 35 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois, and worked as an Architect prior to entering the construction field. He has worked as a Project Manager, Field Superintendent, Marketing Executive, and Construction Consultant, and has been an innovator and implemented many new and cost effective construction techniques and assemblies. Examples: Developed a glass curtain wall system for half the cost of conventional systems. Installed the first Franke pile foundation system in AZ, resulting in significant savings over other proposed systems. Developed a hybrid structural system for mid rise office buildings, resulting in lower floor to floor heights. Pioneered the use of post tensioned «raft» slab foundation systems in multi family construction in AZ, now widely used. Developed an aircraft hangar door system at a fraction of the cost of conventional systems.
