Teresa is a saint! I have two white boxers (brother & sister) and needed someone to watch them for longer than normal. she was super nice on the phone and even nicer in person. She took my dogs in on extremely short notice and was super affordible which saved my life! She has a big back yard with lots of shade (which my dpgs love) I don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for Teresa.
If you need someone you can trust with your furry one, accept no substitutes!

My bloodhound and toy poodle give this place a great review. They got to roam around the house with the other dogs and got the love and attention they needed.

Let’s hear it for the small business, personal touch that JATC has for its customers. Since February 2016, I had a two week out of town trip and assorted dog walks that I needed with someone that my dog would warm up to for stress free walks and care. Jessie came through!
My 9.5 year old retriever/​collie «pup» is always happy to see Jessie, his new friend.
I am sure there will be other opportunities for JATC services and it’s my first choice for my doggy.

My dogs had a blast here. Freedom indoors and out. I was at ease and they came home happy campers.

In a word — amazing! My husband and I do not have children, so we consider our dogs our babies. Jessie is so compassionate and really took the time to go over everything we needed in a competent, caring and thorough manner. We could tell from the moment she entered our home that she was an animal lover. Our dogs seemed happy and well adjusted even after a week away and Jessie visiting 4 times a day. She even provided text updates while we were on vacation just to let us know everything was going well. It’s so fantastic to go on vacation knowing that our furry babies are being so well cared for. Never left my dog with another person. He seemed to enjoy it a whole lot when I picked him up. No cages and full playtime. The owners are definitely not in it to squeeze every penny out of you. Ultimately I needed a place that I would feel comfortable keeping my dog. I would definitely use this business again

I cannot say enough good things about Just Around the Corner! We planned a 2 week vacation and had initially intended to have a friend watch our dogs. But we found ourselves in a bind when our friend bailed on us at the last minute. We checked pricing for pet hotels and found the pricing per day to be outrageous for 2 dogs. Thankfully, I found these positive Unilocal reviews and I am forever grateful. Theresa and Kim arranged a time to come over to our house and meet the dogs prior to our departure. They really made us feel at ease by answering all questions. They were willing to follow any instructions we had in caring for the dogs and small household chores.
We left on vacation and things took a turn for the worse. Kim discovered a day after we left that our water level had dropped in our pool and the 1^st step was exposed. Our pool filter had cracked and water was spraying everywhere! She helped us by turning off the pool pump and even spent extra time at our house filling up the pool with a garden hose! She then recommended a pool guy who could come out to the house to fix the filter. We were a little concerned that the dogs would run out of the gate if the pool man came to our house alone. So she arranged to be present when he arrived to make his repairs. She kept us informed and up to date every step of the way with phone calls, pictures and text.
Although we were stressed on our vacation dealing with serious home repair issues from afar. We were extremely relieved when we came home to a repaired/​functioning pool and 2 happy/​healthy dogs. Our home was clean and looked exactly the same as the way we had left it. Kim really went above and beyond and we couldn’t be more satisfied with this service! 110% Recommended!

I have two incredibly spoiled siamese kitties that need lots of love and attention. Like most pet parents, I’m very protective of them and only want responsible people looking after them if my husband and I are out of town. I found JATC 7 or 8 years ago and couldn’t be happier with the level of care and compassion they provide my boys! Over the years we have dealt with medications, seperate feeding routines, etc. and JATC always makes sure they know the latest instructions before we leave town, and always provide a detailed report upon our return.
I know my boys are well cared for when we leave them in JATC’s very capable hands. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I’ve been using Just Around The Corner for years and my pugs absolutely love it there. They start whimpering with excitement as soon as we’re down the street and they race right up to the door. Even my rescued pug, who was previously abused, has warmed up and feels comfortable there. Theresa is great about giving my dogs their medication and treats and they always come home exhausted. I’ve referred a few friends and would recommend Just Around The Corner to anyone looking for friendly, affectionate pet care.

Ok so I travel a lot to az to take care of my elderly parents and of course I have to bring my spoiled brats with me. Now I know Ceaser Milan would probably bitch smack me in front of my tiny Angels but I’m a gangsta so my tiny gang of tyrants and I don’t fear danger. Now unlike the responsible adult I always call last minute and guess what they always manage to welcome my little babies. To make my demands more difficult and hard to work with, I do not want my pups thrown in a cage in a cold we won’t touch you environment, they need to be in a home like atmosphere with other doggies to worship them. And they get it with this company in fact when they stay over night Mara or Theresa even let them cuddle with them or give them a snuggly warm bed with a pack of devout followers. Usually I would say «you’re welcome «for leaving you in aw of my four legged Angels, but in this case thank you thank you thank you !

My pets are very fortunate to have Just Around the Corner as their caretakers when we are out of town and need someone to feed them in our home or have an event at our home (remodeling or maintenance) which requires the dogs to board at the Just Around the Corner. Just Around the Corner is a family-​owned business and conducts their business out of their personal homes. This arrangement is not for everyone but works perfectly for us. More often times than not, we require feedings/​watering/​medicating for our dogs.
I generally speak with Mara, Theresa’s daughter, and she is able to accommodate our needs and set our minds at ease. Jessie, a Just Around the Corner family member and employee, is remarkable and is the one who provides us with house visits while we are away. She is extremely competent. My pets are on several medications and the written instructions I leave are followed to a «T.» On days where we travel with our dogs, I can also ask Jessie to feed and water our chickens, water my plants on the patio and water my garden. In addition, Jessie takes the time to really get to know our pets and their idiosyncrasies. Once I have arrived from our excursions, I am comforted to know that she took care of my dogs because she «picks up» on their personalities. She gives me a distinct description of their behavior which makes me realize she pays close attention to their individual characteristics.
Although I have never used their transportation services, I do know that they will pick up your pet from your home and board them for doggie daycare. Furthermore, we do not require that JATC walk our dogs but I do know that service is available, too. I do not hesitate to use Just Around the Corner and I do recommend them to others.

Not the best, not the worst. I boarded my dog over Christmas & New Years. I was happy Teresa could take my dog with fairly short notice, so it was kind of a «beggars can’t be choosers» type of situation, all other places I tried first were booked. I went by before the trip with my dog so I could meet Teresa and she could meet my dog, but she wasn’t there when I arrived, someone else was. The house and yard had about 15 dogs or so at the time, and smelled exactly as such, especially because the space is quite small. The dogs there all seemed happy and decently cared for, so I did bring my dog for boarding in the end. When I dropped her off, Teresa was again not there. Every time I called to check on my dog while we were on vacation, someone else (ie: not Teresa) answered the phone, but had great things to say about my dog.
In the end, when I picked up my dog, I rang the bell, no answer, knocked, no answer. Tried the door, and it was unlocked (the metal security door was swung open), so I stepped into the front foyer, NOT KNOWING that this is also a person’s house. I swear, I thought it was a business ONLY, and that the employee (s) stayed there overnight, but not that someone lived there on a daily basis as their home. A woman, who later introduced herself as Teresa, came SCREAMING at me. For a solid couple of minutes she screamed at me for entering a private home without knocking or ringing (I DID!). After I explained MANY times that I did not know this was a private home, I thought it was a business, andplusalso the front door was open & unlocked?! All seemed ok. Just kind of super off-​putting, really. I mean, I totally get that I was wrong to enter someone’s home, and never would have done that if I’d known. But I didn’t, it was an honest mistake, especially considering that it was A) regular business hours, B) the door was open & unlocked, and C) there were no signs outside stating that this was a private home AND business.
Overall, my dog seemed ok when I picked her up, although she smelled like she’d been peed on by many dogs over the course of the week, and was extremely dirty. She’s 12 with bad arthritis, so I know she wasn’t playing in dirt with other dogs all week. I had to immediately take her for a grooming appointment. I won’t be using this company/​person again for boarding, but in the end, the fact my dog was returned to me still in one piece is what’s important to me.

Best pet sitters ever!!! I have been using JATC for 5 years, and had gone through a lot of flaky petsitters before finding them. Theresa, Mara, and Jessie are absolutely amazing!!! I’m pretty sure my dogs love them more than they love us :)
Our crazy dogs have always been a little high maintenance… The JATC crew are meticulous with their care and maintenance. Anytime I leave town, I have complete and total confidence that the dogs will be well cared for. It brings such peace of mind knowing that the beloved pets will be taken care of and happy when away. I can’t recommend them highly enough. You will find no better pet sitters!!!

JATC is amazing! For almost two years now, Theresa and her team have been walking my dog and more recently been taking care of my dog at dog daycare. My dog absolutely loves Theresa and going to JATC. Theresa is truly an animal whisperer because she has a gift with animals. I feel so comfortable having my dog cared for by Theresa. She has also helped me soooo much juggling my work and school schedule. I’m so glad I found JATC and would recommend her hands down.

Getting ready to call Theresa, Jessie and crew and realized I had never given the appropriately glowing review. They not only saved our hides when we really needed help, but they were great. Really self-​sufficient and the dogs loved them. We have a very large puppy (he was 6 months at that time) and a little crazy dog too. The dogs were SO happy to see the team and it was really easy and convenient.

Theresa and her crew are amazing! We have two kitties that they faithfully take care of whenever we go out of town whether it be for one night or 8 days. Now that Theresa cat sits, our kitties seem so much happier when we come home, almost as if they didn’t even miss us. The staff is wonderful they always leave us a full report and take the time to play with both cats making them feel comfortable while we are gone.
The staff takes the time to let the cats out on the balcony for a bit and even turns on the sink for one of our cats who loves to play in the water. They truly treat our pets as if they were their own, you can’t ask for any more than that.
Theresa always tries to fit us in and works with us for any short notice needs. It’s much easier to go out of town feeling comfortable in knowing that you have trustworthy, reliable and compassionate people taking care of your pets and home.

I was in a bind when my dog sitter cancelled the day before my weekend trip. And then I found this place at the recommendation of my vet. I am so happy I did. I called at almost 5 pm and talked to Theresa and she said there was no problem with the short notice.
As this was the first time my dog was staying with a sitter she was a little nervous going in but after a few minutes she was happy and playing with the other puppies. Watching her warm up I new I found the right place. This dog sitting is run out of Theresa’s home. She has gated off her house so the dogs can’t get to places that they are not supposed to go. There is a doggie door that they can use to go outside in the yard and play. Penny felt at home right away. When I picked Penny up she was so excited to see me but really wanted to keep playing with her new friends. This place also offers day care for days when you have to work late.
My only complaint is that my dog lost her sweater while there. Theresa did say that she will call when it’s found so I can pick it up.

We needed a new Pet Sitter for our girls during Labor Day weekend — - and where to turn to but Unilocal! (Of course…)
I trusted all the other 5* reviews by calling up Theresa at Just Around the Corner. (Well, actually I called a bunch of others too — but only Theresa answered my call on the first ring. The others I’m still waiting for a call-​back… shaw!)
But anyhoo — Theresa was so friendly and caring on the phone, I just KNEW that she was gonna be awesome.
She had an initial visit to the house to meet our little cuties — and they just loved, loved, loved her instantly! So again, no worries or concerns for me.
When we came back from our trip, there was a nice detailed note listing the times that they visited and any special notes. It was like a cute little doggie report card or something.
PLUS — — both doggie food bowls were washed and left drying in the sink, and with all their dog blankets all neatly folded up.
It just really gave us peace of mind to know how loved our girls were while we were away.

I first met Theresa during the spring Melrose street festival and picked up her flyer. We used her during a recent weekend trip for our puppy. $ 45 for two nights and Theresa also has doggie day care for $ 15 a day. We didn’t realize we needed to bring dog food when we dropped off Abigail but Theresa was flexible with providing it. Usually, with the boarding we have done with Altavista and Petsmart, we wouldn’t need dog food but at least now we know next time.
Theresa also had other dogs there and when we picked up Abigail, we noticed how much calmer our dog was. I think it did her a world of good to play with the other dogs. Given the reasonable prices, we would definitely use this pet sitting service for overnight and doggie day care. She also takes credit cards which is convenient!
