i have been doing yoga for a few years and i have trouble staying with the same studio for long because everyone seems so serious. its like yoga is a very very serious thing and you cannot joke and have fun. well erica defies this concept at gravity center. she has been practicing for a long time and teaching a number of years. she knows everyone in the valley and is very easy to talk to. everyone who goes there is on first name basis and its a laugh fest every class, she actually encourages that you joke with her. in terms of the actual practice it is second to none. she jumps right into the nasty part(for me anyway) — the hips and doesnt ease up till the very end. you will laugh you will cry and you will probably flip erica the bird before the end of each class. if you dont then you are too serious or arent pushing yourself hard enough. her expertise on the subject of yoga is very thorough and she accomidates everyone based on their particular situation. the studio is great and simple. its just one room and no nonsense. there is a restroom which makes it a two room studio but there is no front desk and no retail store. its a yoga studio and thats all you can do.

I was looking for just the right place to get«addicted» to yoga again. You know how it takes just the right place, and then you just can’t imagine a day without going? Gravity Center is my place. Erica DiCaro, the owner/instructor, is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and positive. She is very concerned all her students are correctly aligned and takes the individual’s concerns into account with every asana. Each student is instructed to reach their potential, going just a bit further, making a little adjustment here or there, to get the most out of each pose. As a personal testament… my left knee had been in pain day and night for months on end. After my first class, all pain was gone. I was ecstatic! I was hooked! I left feeling just a bit stronger, and much, much happier. I knew I had to come back to build upon this. I am determined I will touch my toes in the morning, it’s just going to take time and effort. I also must mention my fellow students. They are wonderful. The ladies, and guys too, are great. It’s so great to have others of all levels working alongside me, giving me inspiration :) This is just the all around physically demanding and spiritually fulfilling yoga studio I was looking for. I found my place and I hope you will come to experience it for yourself.
