Terrible carpet. Terrible installation. Terrible prices (unless you want to haggle), 2 years out my carpet is disintegrating and pulling apart. Stay away. That’s my experience anyway.

It has been 10 years since Express Flooring robbed me & I guess I’m still not over it because every time that super-​annoying commercial comes on it makes my blood boil.
I took time off work for my installation. 2 bathrooms less than 50 sq ft total, promised ONE day job. Took THREE DAYs for first crew to arrive. I called & was told car accident prevented workers from coming. Next day it was somebody was sick, third day, we’re behind on our work schedule, etc. OK, well since this isn’t going to pan out (and I have to go back to work) I’ll cancel. Crazy receptionist actually told me I can’t cancel because my 3 day right to cancel contract has expired!!! They were unable to send anyone & it’s my fault? Huh.
(Take note, in 2015 company was fined $ 100,000 for encouraging their sales reps to have customers waive their right to cancel). Stalling is, apparently, their way around the 3 day right to cancel…
So, if I can’t get out of it, gotta go through with it. Two men came out on 4^th day. They wanted to tile AROUND the toilets, rather than removing them and reseating them as is not only proper, but promised by the sales person. They didn’t stay long, another job they needed to get to. Office will let me know when they can finish.
5^th day another, better, crew came. They did most of the work, but didn’t have the cutter needed to finish 2 pieces of tile, promised to be back next day to finish and grout, are you f’ing kidding me? Nobody came. I called told them not to bother. We’d paid half of the $ 400, my husband finished the work, so we’re done, right?
Wrong, weeks later they filed a workman’s lien against the home using the carbon copy invoice and ALTERING the date of the work done! I still had my copy & contacted BBB. Suddenly, the president who never returned my calls was sweet talking my husband into at least paying part of what WE owed on a job WE finished. I love my husband but hate that he caved because we were selling the home & didn’t want problems at closing.
BBB can’t do much, wish I’d known to file a complaint with the registrar of contractors. they have the authority to shut down shady operators like Express.

If you are looking for flooring that looks like junk flooring, than this place is for you. Also, if you want horrible customer service, this place is for you. Had a salesperson come to our newly purchased house, and we spoke about what we were looking for in both carpeting and laminate flooring. He came back with samples the exact OPPOSITE of what we had just explained/​showed him photos of. He tried talking us into buying the products he had when we told him several times we did not like it. We finally had to say «These products are nothing what we want, and we would rather spend the money on something we want and not what you are trying to make us settle for». The salesperson made a couple of phone calls to see if he the warehouse had better quality items than what he had in his car to show us. He said he would call us back and left. That was a week ago! No phone call (not that we would want to work with them anyway). What happened to customer service, listening to your customers, and following up with your customers?! I wish they would call back, just so I can personally tell them how horrible they are. We have since gone with another local flooring company, paid a little over $ 10,000 and are EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH YOUR COMPETITOR. Express Flooring missed out on a 10k sale plus future customers because we have told about 20 people to never contact you.

Beware!!! lifetimes instalation warranty? Ya right! Floor is coming apart for the second time! They fixed once before after a lengthy process. New floor is coming apart again! Operations manager said I need to find agreement that clearly states «lifetime instalation»?? He makes sense, they already replaced floor under these terms. I asked him to show me my agreement showing I do not have «lifetime» instalation warranty. I have yet to hear from them and it’s been almost a month!!! Another company providing false advertisement!!!

High pressure sales. Very pushy to make a decision on the spot. Would not give me the square footage of the rooms nor a square footage price. Would not leave me a business card or quote of any kind. Said their carpet could not be compared to anyone else and once he stepped out the door the carpet would be gone. I got two other quotes and they were both half as much and I did pick similar carpet.

HORRIBLE! My folks had this company do tile and carpet and it has been a nightmare. No straight answers — workers sleeping on their floor with the front door open — a new fridge dented — no customer service. AMAZING that this company is still being used.

Where O where are the negative stars??? let me begin by explaining that we are building a new home in Buckeye, and due to the costs that builders over charge for tile, we opted to have cheap tile and carpet put in to pass mortgage rules, but to upgrade immediately after close.
SO with that being said, we are 99.9% done so I began having tile companies come out to quote. Per my husband, we called and set up an appointment with Express flooring, we scheduled for the weekend consult, SPECIFIED MANY TIMES that we are going with a grey theme throughout the home, so bring grey tiles!!! they said they can definitely do that, so we agreed upon a time.
When we got to our new home site, we got out of our car and walked to the door, which WAS OPENED and he had been into our home, alone, without us there, and without the builders office representative knowing, which through me off right away…
Next he asked us some really stupid questions and began to ask about the tile we wanted, I told him grey and rectangle, show me solids, and or marble type with movement (i.e. carerra type) so first he asks about the tear out of the existing tile… Now the new house is open floor plan with 12×12 tiles ONLY in the foyer, kitchen, and dining rooms (ENTIRE ROOMS IS LESS THAN 18×20) AND HE SAYS THE TEAROUT ALONE WILL BE $ 3000.00, yep, no typo I said 3 THOUSAND… Now he lost me with that, because the other quote I received said tearout of all the carpet, tile, and linoleum would be $ 250.00 so why his is such a ludacris amount is beyond me…
so I let that go and proceeded to view the tiles, of which he said he had 130 different tile samples in the car… he brings in this grey tile with brown, I said NOPE I want grey, next tile grey wood plank, NOPE I do not like that, he says but this is really «in» and is going to stay in for a long time… ummm ok, don’t like it though, he says well think to when you sell the house, I said I am not leaving the house until I leave in a box (which I said on the stupid questionnaire that they used) so he brings in a grayish tile with pinstripes in it, I said no don’t like that either… he says well I cannot help you, you have a unique style and you will have to go to the showroom.
NEXT DAY… I get a call from a rep that wanted to know what happened and why I didn’t buy from them, so I explained to her the whole waste of my time appointment with him and she’s very apologetic and wants to send another more experienced rep out to help us, so I agreed.
New rep comes out yesterday, her name was Debbie, and she claims to be an interior designer, but seems to me she is a floor salesperson. First she calls and says she’s on the way and will be there in an hour… fine since we were closing anyways… so we wait, and wait then she calls and says she got a flat tire and will be running another 15 – 20 minutes… fine, so wait and wait and wait… now 45 minutes later she shows up…
NOW I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU ALL BUT WEARING STRETCH PANTS AND A WHITE TANK TOP LOOKS AWFULLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! and she was very odd. She had an excuse for everything, first a flat tire, then her GPS didn’t work out here (ummm really???) then she starts showing me tiles, and it was the SAME TILES THE OTHER GUY SHOWED ME!!! she showed us 2, then asked to see my sample from the other tile store I went to and says she can probably get me that tile… ummm how bout NO WAY!!! she looks like she came from a yoga class, not a professional at all!!! AND HER APOLOGY WAS TO OFFER US AN ADDITIONAL 200.00 OFF THE PRICE… MY BUDGET WAS 7000.00 FOR THE TILE AND SHE SAYS I CAN PROBABLY DO IT FOR 8000.00, SO I SHUT HER DOWN RIGHT THERE!!! and then she asks to use our «piddle room» so my husband lost half a days work and wasted our time to meet with her… THANKS EXPRESS FLOORING FOR MAKING ME USE THE HONEST LITTLE SHOPS RATHER THAN YOUR OVERPRICED UNKNOWLEDGEABLE YOGA DRESSING STAFF!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE THESE ARE THE PEOPLE REPRESENTING YOUR COMPANY!!! YOUR LOSS, YOU LOST 7000.00 IN CASH PAYMENT BECAUSE YOUR PEOPLE ARE NOT TRAINED WELL ENOUGH AND YOU DO NOT LISTEN… YOUR LOSS!!!

I picked one star because I couldn’t pick none.
I wished I had seen reviews before allowing them into my house, but I got sucked in my the sales pitch at the home show.
I set the appointment for an at home consult. I was looking for porcelain tile that looked like wood floor in a 12 by 10 living room. The rep came to the door jittery like a crack head. He tells me not to worry he’s a southern gentleman and launches junto a speech about carpeting and how stuff you buy from other dealers is inferior. When I can get a word in, I tell him it’s all well and good but I’m looking for tile. He interrupts the conversation to answer his phone to tell his buddy that he’s working today.
He sets his Starbucks cup down (which he left on my entertainment center by the way) and continues with his pitch until he finally steps out to get samples. Something on the television reminds him of a movie and he asks if I had seen the movie and launches into this movie quote in a strange voice saying, «f$&@ that sh$t, man.» I was stunned that he’d use expletives in my house.
He brings in three samples and then has to run back out to get a more expensive sample because he thinks that I’m worth the expense. He’s talking more than he’s listening. At this point he asks me where I’m from. I tell him NJ to which he replies that he’s from the northeast too (I thought he was a southern gentleman?). he starts manipulating this iPad for the estimate but clearly doesn’t know how to use the thing
He gives me an outlandish estimate. I mention the $ 400 dollars coupon from the home show and their home show price guarantee. He tells me that coupon isn’t good because he already provided such a deep discount. When I don’t immediately jump at the estimate which he refuses to write down, he starts making calls to try to see if he can lower the price. Then he asks what I’m willing to pay. In all honesty, given his behavior, I would have never hired this company, but I tell him that I was just looking for an estimate. He gets angry and can’t believe that I do not take this serious enough to do my home work. He proceeds to berate me and wants to call the person who booked the estimate because he can’t believe that I wasn’t told to do my homework before they showed up. He attempts to get someone on the phone who does not answer.
Finally I tell him that we are done. He leaves forgetting his keys.
This representative and this company are train wrecks.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

We met with Express Flooring, John. He arrived without the 30 minute notice and proceeded to treat my husband myself as if we were putting him out. As far as I remember we’re the customer. Anyways he continued to talk to me disrespectfully and then finally brought in two tile samples… of which neither I cared for. So he went on to give me a speech… ugh! Basically I told him to get the heck (not the word I used) out of my house. I will NEVER use this company for any of my properties. Please keep this in mind when thinking of using them!!!

It was a big mistake to allow this company into our home. The WARNING signs were there that this is not a good company to do business with, but we chose to ignore them and it cost us. I’ll list a few here FYI — ignore them at your own peril.
WARNING Sign 1 — horrible reviews on every possible review website
WARNING Sign 2 — «please make sure both decision makers are there at the appointment» translation — high pressure take it or leave it sales job to get you to sign a bad deal for you
Warning sign 3 — not honoring the offers on their own commercials.
WARNING Sign 4 — bringing only a few of the most simple basic samples after promising a selection of every type of carpet and tile imaginable
WARNING Sign 5 — an offer that contains no specified itemized cost of any kind. This allows them to change the terms of the deal at any time and charge you for whatever they want at any price. And they will.
Once we signed the deal we were toast. As soon as the tear out started they slapped an upcharge for additional materials they said we would need at 3 times what the materials actually cost. We had also asked for better tile that they said was $ 1 per square foot more but they wanted to charge over double that cost. When we countered at a fair price they wouldn’t even consider it and said their price or no deal. So of course we hired someone else to finish the job. They ended up charging a ridiculous amount for the mess they left and threatened a lien if we didn’t pay. The good news is, even after paying them off, we still got the job done by another company for what Express Flooring tried to charge us, but we had the satisfaction of not doing business with them anymore. Hard to believe that there are still these kind of companies out there in the 21^st century, but here’s one. So go ahead and use them if you want but you’ve been warned.
UPDATE: I see that this Jason B character is posting apologies to these horrible reviews. Don’t pay attention to them. It’s just another attempt by this company to trick you and take your money.

The representative was very friendly, not too terribly pushy, but I thought their prices were too high especially for being 50% off everything.

If your looking for high priced flooring with horrible service and to be treated horribly this is your place. Worst service totally taken advantage of and lied to. I wouldn’t even rate this with one star if it was an option

Bait and switch.
Wow, I wished I had seen these reviews before doing business with this company. They lied about what we would get, installed the wrong carpet etc.
Is anyone suing or making official complaints about this company? Count me in.

I emailed them in early February, but they wouldn’t send a sales rep until I confirmed the appointment by telephone. He had samples with the color families I wanted, and we settled on four rooms, each with a different color. I opted to forego the hallway and living room for financial reasons, but could afford the den, office, master bedroom, and master bath. We set the install for Feb 20, which would have given me enough time to empty the bookcases, and the like.
The next day, he called me and said that the manufacturer was out of stock on the bedroom carpet; it wouldn’t be in until Feb 25. I was going to be out of town the last week of Feb, so we scheduled the install for Feb 6. I got sick, so rescheduled for Feb 13. The evening of Feb 5, the installer called to let me know when he would be there the next day; I told him the install had been postponed a week. He checked something and said I was right.
The next I heard from them was on the morning of Feb 13, that he would be here between 10 and noon. He showed up at 10:30, ready to install everything but the bedroom; the carpet had not arrived, and was scheduled to be here on the 16^th. He was surprised that no one had called me the day before. I called the office and was told that the carpet would be here on the 19^th. We rescheduled for the 20^th.
When I got home on the 19^th, there was a message on my answering machine asking me to call Steve at Express Flooring; I called, but he had left for the day, and didn’t return my call until 7:30 am on the 20^th. He said that the carpet was on the way and would be here on the 23^rd. So we rescheduled for the 24^th.
The evening of the 22^nd, I got a call to confirm the install, a I asked the installer whether he had the bedroom carpet, and he said he didn’t; it wouldn’t be in until the 30^th!
I called the office, and got a receptionist who said that she was the only one there, and couldn’t connect me with anyone. (It was 5:30 PM.) The installer had emailed Steve, and she phoned him, but had to leave a voice mail.
Steve called me the next morning, and I was furious; I reminded him that he had said that the carpet was on the way, and he gave me a song and dance about that’s what the manufacturer had said. I told him that he had two option, either cancel the entire order or install the bedroom for free. (I know they wouldn’t/couldn’t do the latter, and would try desperately to avoid the former.) He said that he couldn’t make that decision, and would have to speak with his boss.
A few minutes later his boss called, and after a lot of back and forth, he offered to give me a 10% discount, and would have everything but the bedroom installed the next day. Once the bedroom carpet came in, and he personally verified it, they would contact me and arrange the instal.
Steve called me a few minutes later and said that he had already given the crew a different install, for the 24^th, but they could do it on the 25^th. They arrived on time (actually 15 minutes early) today, and surprise surprise!, they had the bedroom carpet, and did the entire install.
The installation crew was very professional and did a very good job; if I were to rate the company on them and the salesperson, I would give it five stars; if I had to rate on the experience between the two, I’d give it one star, so I averaged it, and gave them three stars.
If I had thought to consult Unilocal!,I would have gone with another company, and I’ll do just that when I have the rest of the house done after I get this purchased paid off.

Setup an appointment after making sure they had the tile I needed. The person who came out was an «interior designer» who never measured, lied about the tile cost (said it would be around $ 6 – 7 per tile when I can get the EXACT same tile at Home Depot for $ 1.52 each) and tried to get $ 7,000-$ 8,000 out of a job that I am now getting done (by people I trust) for $ 3,000 using the same tile she said was $ 6 – 7 per tile. I would never recommend to anyone. The most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with and I just wanted her to leave my home. If she had actually done some research, provided a fair estimate and acted like a professional I may have used them, but now… never and I will tell anyone looking for flooring to never use them.
Update 5÷7÷2015: I had my work done by Get Floored, Inc. using the tile I purchased from Home Depot (same tile I already have in my house) for $ 1.67 per tile for about $ 2,000 total. I will review Get Floored, Inc. as well. They were excellent!

Yes, this must be the worst flooring company in the valley of the sun… Where would I start? The shitty installation. The follow-​up repairs to the crappy install job. The fact the «Operations Manager» can’t seem to take calls. The repeated lies and deception on getting the job repaired. The best suggestion I can give to dealing with this company, is that you drive slowly outside a Home Depot… A Few guy will jump into the back of your vehicle. They will probably speak English better than the guys Express Flooring will
your home. One set they sent to my home even told me that they were not even legal to work here. I am so fed up I can’t even finish this review without it turning very foul and distasteful… Call anyone but these people!

Let me qualify one thing first. This review is on an experience that I had over three years ago, but seeing all the horrible reviews and painful experiences of the other folks here, I just want to add my two cents.
I had two rooms of carpet installed. I did not buy the cheap stuff, about mid line. (There were two more expensive, so Quality should have been about average. Or so I thought…
1). I fully agree with many others here, DO NOT rate anything on the install guys. They were awesome and really went out of the way to do a good job. I cannot complain about their work.
2). On the other hand… The service after EF got our money was HORRIBLE. Trying to get anyone to talk to about long delays and mis information was crazy. I should have tossed the money in the street and went to Depot. I would have been further ahead in retrospect.
3)… The carpet that finally did show up after 3 weeks of waithing was nothing close to the samples the shifty salesman had with him in the house. The color was way off what we expected, and you could tell it was just cheap, badly made carpet. The count was low and the backing was thin as paper. I tried to refuse it, but there was no one to get ahold of, and no one to return it to. The poor installers took a bit of abuse from me on that unfortunately. So we did the only thing we could… we had them put it in.
4). So living on this crap that was install was another nightmare. It sheds fibers for months. So much so that it would regularly plug up the vacuums. And then after just one year… there was so much heavy traffic areas that it looked like the carpet had been in the house for 10 years. IN FACT! The 20 year old carpet that came out looked better after two years of very light use. (It is just my wife and myself, and it’s not like we were tap-​dancing down the hallway every night.
I finally had to replace the carpet after only two years.
Be warned… what they sell you on the couch is not anything close to what goes in your house.
Will never use them again. Any place that spends that much money on advertising is going to cut corners somewhere and in this case, it is in the product that counts the most. The floor you are living on.

After all the comments, I was a little nervous. However, it turned out great and the installers were wonderful. Express called the night before to remind me of the install. At 7am they called to say arrival between 10−12am. The installers (Jose and Jesus) came at 9:40am. Approx 1058 sqft of carpet, removal, haul away, furniture removal/​reset up, 3br, 3 walk-​in closets, hallway and stairs– Lifetime Stain Warranty (requires 1 pro cleaning per year to be valid): $ 4080 plus 4% since I paid with credit card, so around $ 4200 out the door. I wish I would have gotten thicker carpet but I have to remind myself this is going to be our rental property shortly or we might just sell it. It’s the Moonstruck neutral color so it will be good for renters and/​or sale. Other than the quality of the carpeting itself– that I chose based on what I wanted (more like –was WILLING) to spend, they did a great job. It was all exactly how it was when they came and they cleaned up everything.

After reading these Unilocal reviews, i just saved myself a lot of trouble. I cancelled my
Monday appt. I only need one bedroom to be done, and actually i think the ads are ok.
But the reviews on service are shocking. And they did insist my wife be here.
I simply said my way or no way. The setter said ok. But I will research first, and call second to get this room done.

I wish I could give this company ZERO stars. Yes, they are THAT awful. I suppose one star could be for the installers who did a nice job, but they are contracted out, so kudos to THEM.
It took nearly a month to get carpet installed in one bedroom… This is after choosing from the «in stock» carpet so it could be installed the next day. We got the runaround even after we cancelled.
When we actually pursued the refund due, we were then offered a nice price cut and FINALLY next day installation (in reality next month installation). Out of principle, I wanted to say HECK NO! But… We did just buy a house and $$ is priority.
So… We now have carpet. It’s not great quality carpet, but the price was right and it does the job. Still, when it comes to replace carpet in the remainder of the house, Express Flooring will not be getting my business.
