Camelback Toyota

They have horrible customer service! I know because I am female they totally tried to rip me off. My husband came and they changed their attitude. I will never go back there

This is the third Toyota dealership I’ve gone to for my oil change b/​c I travel around the country so much and it was the best:
–Nice big, clean waiting waiting room
–A little café that serves food in one section of the waiting area (I didn’t use it but it was nice to have available)
–My customer service agent (Robert Gonzalez) was very kind and considerate
–My car was very filthy when I dropped it off and they gave it a good cleaning — I didn’t expect this at all and was surprised I got it with just an oil change.
I’ll definitely go back here for future service.

I specifically wanted to purchase from this dealership as they have been the recipient of the sought-​after Presidential Award for years now (customer service), and there’s a reason behind it.
To start with, I have a strong hatred for car shopping. Strong. Not so much looking and testing cars, but sales agents. Yes, I know they’re making a living also, but they’re notoriously agressive and not genuine in my past experience.
I worked with Adam and he was not too pushy in the least and made me feel like I was the most important person there. He relentlessly pulled inventory around to the front for me to inspect and bombard w/​questions. Not the slightest impatience when I looked at one car for maybe 20 seconds and wasn’t interested. Brewed my mom and I real Colombian coffee he brought back from his trip recently. It was extraodinary, BTW.
Adam was informative and helpful! We also worked at the end of my purchase with Mitchell who was great as well and took such time to explain the car and check-​out process. Mitchell has such patience as he synced my iPhone with the Bluetooth and sat through Voice Recognition training! Talk about great service and going above and beyond!
The dealership is very tidy and bathrooms have flat-​screen TVs, as well as Service Department have a café (they serve comp continental breakfast) and have a zen area on 2^nd floor with massage chairs! This adds to the experience once you have your car, and continue to feel so special, in my eyes.
I’m so happy I bought my new car here — job well done!

I give an A for effort. The odds where against us with buying our new car from this dealership. First, on the way to our appointment, traffic slowed to a crawl on the 10. Google maps estimated two hours to get from casa grande just to the chandler exist.
We called to let them know we would be there, but late. I spoke to Bryant who was very nice and said he would see us when we got there.
About 10 minutes later, still stuck in traffic, and contemplating on weather to somehow turn back, we get a call from Bryant letting us know the 2016 Highlander XLE we wanted to test drive sold. Bummer. But we are so happy he let us know before driving all the way there.
He did tell us they would have new ones in stock in a couple of weeks. But we had our heart set on getting it the same day, so after calling three other dealerships, found one that had it in stock. Thank you all for your great customer service, either way!

I was driving down 35^th Avenue to babysit my granddaughter. The cars in front of me swerve and I have no where to go so I hit the bundle in the road that everyone else was avoiding. As I hit it ears of corn go flying. My Prius front end got the spoiler, bumper and grill got cracked. Luckily no other damage. We have great insurance (USAA) so they put the claim in that day and now 1 month later my car is back in perfect shape. We had the appraisal within a week and the parts were ordered. They had to paint the parts and make sure there was no other damage. We dropped the car off on a Monday and had it back fixed by Thursday. They washed it and it only cost us the deductible of $ 250. Great job from all involved and it is good to be back in my car.

Called Cole about my a/​c being put and he said they’d take a look. It ended up being a major repair because of something I ran over, but he suggested calling my insurance and essentially saved me $ 1500. On rope of that my warranty covered my battery that was running down and the filters on my engine and a/​c. My brake pads were down to nothing but I knew that so had term fix it and my wipers which were a decent enough price. On top of everything it was supposed to take four hours for diagnostics and repair, it took two and he gave the car a wash! You guys are awesome!

I stopped in to Camelback Toyota to purchase a used VW Golf that was listed on their website. I was really happy with the salesman Brian, unfortunately the finance guy Griffin Murray was not the most transparent about what I was signing up for. After I got home that night and was reviewing the paperwork I noticed that I had a service plan for $ 2055 added to my contract. This plan was not spoken of when I was signing all the paperwork. The next day I had to go in and ask why it was added and he told me that financing companies like to have it on older cars. This was most likely a lie seeing that he makes money from getting people to sign up to these plans. I was unable to get the contract on the loan changed but I was able to get the service contract canceled. If you buy a car from Camelback Toyota please do yourself a favor and avoid Griffin.

I couldn’t be more happy with the service that I received from Eric M. (Service Dir.) and his team. I had my cruiser in for some rear driveline work and to finish off my lift kit. Excellent communications all throughout the work cycle and all of my requests were met to my total satisfaction. Got a Land Cruiser or some other Toyota that needs some work? I would recommend the service team at CBT for all your needs.

We had been on a serious manhunt to PURCHASE (not lease) a preowned 4runner with 3^rd row seating. With the help of Brian Buckley, we were able to end that search. I appreciate his zero pressure approach while I was checking out the vehicle. I knew what I did and did not want and I was not going to settle for anything less. After we made our decision it was on to finance. Again, I did not feel belittled or pressured to buy add ons and extra warranties. I am confident in the vehicle I bought and covered until 100k miles (Toyota certified)
Now the cons:
We received our first bill from an unknown financial institution. Funny because we came in with a preapproval from Desert Schools and wanted to finance through them. I did not want my credit report to be run again. However, no big deal since the interest rate was reasonable. So I made several phone calls, left messages for the finance manager and sent emails just to confirm that this CRB auto is my lien holder but no response for a couple of days. I felt brushed off after they got my money and was very disappointed.
The tire pressure light was on and we asked numerous times for that to get checked out. It went back for a wash and one last check before we left. Came back 20 minutes later… Hmmm, light still on. Was told that it may take 30 minutes to go away. A day or two passes and the hubby decides to check it himself. Pressure in all four tires were inconsistent, some high and some low. The cap for the oil was also missing. Not major issues but would have appreciated more care before before I drove off the loft with my huge investment.

I got the best car ever! Doreen is the best she is patient and helped so much. I recommend her to everyone and plus I think females have more patients in general but Doreen is the best

I went to this dealership many years ago when it was on the other side of the road and had an awful experience. I decided to try this dealership again after buying a new vehicle and figured maybe they made some changes since they moved to there new location.
I took our vehicle in for the 5 thousand mile service and some warranty work. To keep a long story short, when I received the vehicle back and after driving home I noticed they didn’t rotate the tires which brought on my suspicion if they even checked the fluids so I opened the hood to look for evidence. Anyone who lives in Arizona knows of the dust we have and it settles very nicely on everything in the engine compartment. After inspecting I couldn’t find one stinking finger print in all that dust under the hood. Not one, these guys are like ninjas. However when these ninja mechanics made it into the inside of my vehicle the left greasy foot prints on the door jam and greasy finger prints on the steering wheel, trim around the radio and glove box.
When I called the service advisor and told him of my concern he acted like I had no clue to what I was talking about. One thing I know is pictures never lie.

This review is on their service center. After having a couple of poor experiences at the Toyota closer to my home, I decided to try this location early last year. This is the best service I’ve ever received from a Toyota Service center. I feel that they have always been upfront and very honest about the services needed/​recommended. They have a large, beautiful and CLEAN waiting area. I love how I can book online or contact a specific service adviser. I usually opt to wait, which can be lengthy at times, but that should be a given on Saturdays. They have shuttle services — I’ve noticed a lot of people take it to the nearby mall. If I get restless, its a short walk to Starbucks, Zoe’s Kitchen, or Chik-​fil-​A. I will definitely miss this place when I move.

Camelback Toyota has really stepped up their game this past year! I wouldn’t take my vehicle ANYWHERE else but here now. About three months ago I was reluctant to bring my sienna in due to past bad experiences here but my warranty stated I needed to bring to a dealership. I called and Cole Bauer answered from the service department. He immediately made a good impression and took care of me from the get go. He was honest and kept me updated throughout the waiting process. I highly recommend using Cole for your next service transaction!
Yesterday my sienna didn’t start so I didn’t hesitate towing it to Camelback Toyota. I called and asked for Cole but it was his day off. Then I got a little worried. They put me through to Jon (didn’t catch his last name). Again, Jon was awesome! Called me when they found out the problem and said the warranty company already gave them the green light to start the repair. Towed to shop around 1240, phone call from Jon at 330 and picked up at 5. Jon walked me through the repair and let me know about possible future repairs to think about.
Ask for Jon or Cole for your next service as you can’t go wrong with either.
I have to also give props to management for hiring and training such great advisors. Seriously, I don’t recall the last time I had a good experience with any dealership in the last 20+ years in AZ. Camelback Toyota is the best place in town to take your vehicle in for service. And my sienna drives like a champ today!

This place gets crazy busy, but everyone here is so nice! I’ve been here three times for different services and each time the service consultants have been fantastic. One of my biggest fears of being a girl who isn’t quite adept to car knowledge is getting swindled into over-​charges and unnecessary services. They don’t do that here! Even if a service is suggested, you can trust their honest opinion on if it’s really necessary at the moment for you. They also provide a printout booklet of all the tests they put your car through to determine your service needs and they’re thorough in explaining all of it!
The dealership itself is beautiful – iPads you can check out to play with, cold bottled water everywhere, popcorn, coffee, snacks, television and massage chairs. I definitely recommend you schedule your vehicle services before hand if you can, seeing as it does get fairly busy.

Review is specifically for their parts department. As an owner of several Toyota vehicles (one over 45 years old) Camelback’s parts team is well-​educated and knows how to find parts that Toyota still offers, but may not come up under a ‘standard’ search.
Combined with Toyota’s amazing level of interchangeability between years (there are parts from 1983 that fit vehicles from 1968) and having a good parts staff is essential. Camelback has these people. I have not used them for service, but when the need comes up, especially for an older Land Cruisers, I will use them.
In addition, if you know your part number, their online portal is perfect and the prices are as good as they get. Easy to hit the right dollar amount for free shipping too. I know of more than a few vintage Toyota guys that don’t live in Phoenix (or Arizona), but will source parts from Camelback Toyota.

Specifically to their online parts store at
, there is no communication whatsoever. Inquired on a few car parts and heard nothing back. A few members of the Tacoma World community have also shared their own complaints as well. Complaints include incomplete to unfulfilled orders.

That means enough for Unilocalers to get the hint, but not the fine people at Camelback Toyota. I was here with Jenny while we were waiting to pick up her car from the [most recent round of] recall repairs it needed. Of course we had to wait in the customer lounge where the salesmen lurk.
As much as I despise salesmen, I get it. You have to reach out to anyone in the showroom. But not each and everyone of you need to do it. And you don’t need to continue to try to force a sales-​focused conversation with me when I’ve clearly stated that I am not interested. It’s a waste of your time and it’s frustrating as all hell to me. I know you’re there if I need anything. I understand if I have questions all I have to do is all. I’m sure this vehicle there is a much better option than my reliable paid off Jeep that I love. But I can decide when I’m ready to contact you.

Never in a million years would I ever think I’d give a car dealership a good review. Never. So this is major.
I just got done with the car shopping process. I had an irrational attachment to my almost 18 year old Corolla, Latonya. She was the BEST. It was with a heavy heart that I had to get rid of her due to old age and some illnesses.
The past two weeks have been hellacious. Absolutely godforsaken. Going into car dealerships as a female is just sickening. Between the condescending tone of the guys selling to me, the bait and switch bullshit that goes on while the sales guy goes to ‘talk to my manager and see if I can help you out’, the lies, the RIDICULOUS fees that they try to pack on once you get them down to a realistic price. I could go on and on about the absolutely disgusting things that I experienced. On a few occasions I got in my car after leaving and cried out of sheer rage.
I walked in here with a piss poor attitude, defenisiveness, and I was ready to do battle.
I didn’t need to. My salesman, Tom C (I won’t put his last name– but ask for him!) was respectful, he LISTENED to what I was looking for, and not once did he try to scam me. Not once. I found a car I really liked, but there were a few minor scratches on the door handle. They fixed it, free. And when I say free I mean free. After I bought the car Tom also took the time to show me how to work all of the fancy pants gadgets in my new car (my ol’ girl had a tape deck… it’s quite the transition). he hooked up my phone to the car, taught me how to maneuver though all my buttons, you name it.
The price of the vehicle was actual blue book/​NADA value. There wasn’t one fee (other than taxes, license, registration) that was added on. Not. one.cent.
I seriously thought he was up to something. I felt shady even saying ON THE FIRST OFFER: I’ll take it. There was no negotiation. There was no need for it. I got the actual value of the car. Period.
I was preapproved for a car loan and they beat my already good percentage rate. The finance guy: I was ready for the slimy sales pitch because THAT is where they make their money with all the extra stuff. While he did try to sell it, it wasn’t pushy. He didn’t push hard or try and scare me. I said no thanks, he moved along.
I’m still in shock at how easy my experience was. It’s how car buying should be: price the car for what it’s actually worth, sign, drive. Boom done.
As a female shopping alone, I cannot say enough about this place. I’m still in awe.

When I moved here last year, I left my old car in St. Louis, so I had the envious pleasure of car shopping. Next to playing the NIN-​in-​my-​eyelids game with Trent Reznor, this has to be the most exciting task ever. Yay.
When I came here, I already been to countless other dealerships, so my very last nerve was teetering on the brink of psychosis, so my attitude mirrored my mental state. I knew exactly what I was looking for & I had no time for the b.s. The first salesman who came running out was typically annoying to the Nth degree; I had to shake him off. Then came my guy, Brian. He was still a salesman, but charming and nice (and obviously new) so I stuck with him. He even rode out to N Scottsdale with me to pick-​up DD from school, in what was the ultimate test drive. (And what was surely a ploy to make sure I came back to them.)
The process is painfully long. I hate that. Hours upon hours. Why?! What on earth takes them so long? I could’ve flown to Japan and back in that timeframe.
Then out comes the pushy boss. She was Nigerian and she loved to hear herself talk. I had to shoot her chair out from under her a few times (this is an expression; no firearms were involved) as she tried to lie about this and that. She spoke Spanish though, so that is helpful for those who need it. I’m assuming that she was trying to «identify» with me when she started speaking Spanish to me after hearing me speak with mis hijos, but I obviously speak English so, girl, have a seat. (I’m nitpicking.)
THEN you deal with the final loan processor, or whatever his title was. DOES THE PUSHERY EVER END?! I’m sure I signed off on some extras that I may never use, but I am glad that I agreed to that MPP. It’s a protection plan and it covers oil changes & tire rotations up to 72 months or 75K miles, which is nice to have once the Toyota Boost service runs out at 25K.
The service team tinted my windows as part of the deal, but they did a crappy job on my driver’s side window. There is a long bubble running the length of the window. They blamed it on the cold weather. *major side-​eye* They told me to bring it back during warmer weather and they’d fix it. I have yet to allot the 4+ hours to do that.
Also, there is an Enterprise @ ½ mile or less up the road, so I was able to turn in the corporate rental and get into my new car.
End of the day? I got what I wanted and I got a good interest rate. I like how they put your name on the TV after your purchase. Makes you feel all super-​starish.
And Brian called me like 6 months to a year later to see how everything was going.
However, the REAL MVP at Toyota Camelback is their waiting lounge. Large, bright and open. Clean restrooms. They have a small café serving up food, snacks, and drinks. There’s a second waiting area upstairs called the «Quiet Lounge.» There you’ll find 2 small one-​person rooms with one top of the line massage chair and a TV in each room. And you may close the curtains for privacy. Those massage chairs are absolutely AMAZING. I awoke feeling great and had a message that my car was ready. Best 2 hour oil changes ever! They got an extra star just for these massage chairs.

Do you ever feel like you don’t see enough Pez dispensers these days? I feel a little conflicted when it come to these old school candy gems — on one hand, I love the candy. It is the sweetness of a smartie with the crunch of a sweet tart and the rainbow coloring skittles. On the other hand, it is a HEAD ON A STICK and the candy comes out of the NECK. It is a scene straight out of a horror movie.
And who can eat from a Pez dispenser and not think of Lord of the Flies at least once? Well, there is one demographic — young kids. This is the same group of people that you probably don’t want to take with you when you a buy a car, since it is a long and tedious process. I cannot think of many things less entertaining than buying a car. Maybe watching someone clean grout?
For those who bring their kids with them anyway (like me!!) Camelback Toyota has you covered. There is a whole area designated for kids. There is a video game console, a television, a cave, books, and little toys. I really appreciate Camelback Toyota making a point to be family friendly. Prior to our visit there, we quickly visited a shop directly across the street and they did not even have a token candy bowl filled with dum dums.
Having the kids mildly entertained and drowning in Pez, allowed my husband and I to not only test drive two cars, but complete an actual purchase. And, to make it even sweeter, the deal we got was great and the customer service was also fantastic. We never felt pressured or taken advantage of. We walked out with a beautiful used Prius and I could not be happier.
Also, they did not require us to even bring our trade in, we were able to trade it in sight unseen. That level of convenience is just as helpful as the Pez dispensers.
Our sales person was Amir, and was nothing short of pleasant and helpful. I know it sounds crazy, but I actually think he was also sincere. I would buy a car from him again.
The air conditioner was on full blast so my last piece of advice is to bring a sweater.
