Great place! Savon did a wonderful job and the salon has a relaxed, upbeat atmosphere.

I really wanted to like this place and have it be my go-​to nail salon, especially because they give free beverages like wine and champagne. Everything is very plushy and feels luxurious.
However, I agree with all of the other reviews – this place is tiny and is almost always crowded, so it’s not a good place to stop in for a quick mani/​pedi. It’s very pricey and my last gel manicure ended up chipping after a few days. Not cool. Also, I’ve had the skin around my nails get cut too short to the point where I start bleeding… twice! It’s a good thing I’m so chill because I’m sure any self-​respecting Rittenhouse woman would’ve thrown a fit.
Again, it’s not bad and there are some perks, but there are much better nail salons in the city.

Excellent service, clean, friendly and the champagne is a lovely touch! Ask for Vie, she is the greatest nail expert I have experienced! Really good at shaping nails and precise nail painting.

If you need a quick place to get a manicure in the middle of the afternoon this is the place. The salon is in a great location, have great colors to choose from, and are pretty quick.
I got a regular manicure two days ago and while they looked great leaving the salon, it looks like they got done a week ago. The staying power of their manicures is clearly disappointing.
Also, suggestion to management: please have your customers pay before putting on the nail polish. It was a bit of a pain to pay by trying to avoid ruining freshly painted nails.
Overall, this place is just ok.

Really disappointed in the quality of my manicure. I went with two friends, and though the owner and staff was very pleasant, and it was very nice getting a glass of champagne before our service, the technician I had was terrible. My nails look like I got a manicure a week ago, not a day ago. The gel has two bubbles in it, and she only did two coats of color — not even getting it down to my cuticles. She also rushed — the full service took less than 20 minutes! It was $ 35 for a gel manicure, and I walked away with what should have been a $ 15 gel manicure. Really disappointed — will definitely not be going back. I can go somewhere down the street 10x better and $ 10 cheaper.

I had an amazing experience here! The girls that work here are very sweet and considerate of comfort. I had a mani pedi and it was the day of my wedding. As soon as they heard that the (owner I’m guessing?) came over, gifted me a small lotion and completed my nails herself. My only compliant was that some of the emery boards and files and buffers were being reused.

This place isn’t bad if you’re really in need of a mani/​pedi but don’t expect it to be the most relaxing, enjoyable experience. Every time I have come here, I have felt rushed and like a nuisance to the employees. The women are typically not very friendly and neither is the manager/​owner?
The price is not worth it to me unless I’m really in a bind. I don’t mind paying for a good experience, but this just isn’t that experience to me. Also, they don’t have dryers for your hands, you have to sit with a mini fan to dry your nails… seriously?

I’m fine with paying Rittenhouse prices for a manicure. I get it. But you really want me to sit in front of a tiny little fan to dry my nails afterwards? No thanks.
Also, don’t go without an appointment unless you want to wait. Not a huge deal, but this isn’t the place to come in a pinch.
A manicure is a manicure, but there are definitely better places to come. Specifically, every other salon in the city with proper dryers.

I booked mani/​pedi appointments here on a Saturday for a few of my friends and I to celebrate a bachelorette party. I had read that they are good for accommodating groups and offer wine and champagne to celebrate the occasion.
When we arrived, it was very hot and crowded (mid April). They took us and gave us simple pedicures that felt a bit rushed. I was offered a glass of champagne. When it was time for a manicure, I asked if I could have another glass, and the woman said loudly and rudely, it was one per customer. I guess if I got a manicure I could get one, and if I got a pedicure I could get one, but since I was getting a manicure and pedicure together, I could still only get one. No big deal.
Our manicures were also rushed. We didn’t have much time to dry before we were rushed out. My nails were chipped within one day and I did not wash dishes or swim or anything. Overall, I guess it was a very average and clean place. Fine experience, but don’t expect anything further. I liked that it did not smell like chemicals.

Walked in around five after ten on a Sunday. Two people were already in their pedicure chairs being serviced. I asked for a pedicure and was shown to a chair. The young woman who would be helping me was Sandy and she was an efficient pedicurist. I was offered the complimentary beverage and my pedicure began. Typical service. The basic pedicure is what was requested and it was basic and average. I would like to see how the paint holds up.
I would go back if I was in the neighborhood again but I would not search this location out.
Pros: serviced quickly without an appointment right when they opened.
Efficient staff.
Con’s: used an actual cheese grater on my feet.
Average.

Excellent place!!! Lena is amazing. I had 3 badly broken nails… I thought they were goners. Saved them and literally fixed them they look amazing! Great service and very timely. I will definitely be going back regularly!

The inside is attractive, spacious, and comfortable. There is an impressive selection of colors and the ladies always do a great job! It’s easy to see that all the equipment is clean. My only drawback is that a manicure is $ 15. I know this isn’t outrageous, but there are other places nearby with better deals for the same quality of service — the only difference is that this business is more aesthetically pleasing and in a better location.

So I had been hesitant to come here after reading other reviews so I’d put it off for quite some time. I’m so glad I finally decided to go because I loved my experience.
I went on two different days because I didn’t have time to do both a mani and pedi all in one afternoon. The service I received on both days was pretty consistent. I walked in with no appointment on weekday afternoons. They were very attentive and did exactly what I asked. Angela and Jeanne are superstars. I had specific requests for how they cut my nails as I have issues with how my nails grow and they were very understanding and did their best.
I loved that I was able to receive a complimentary glass of wine or champagne. The setup of the place is also nice and cozy.
My only complaint is that they don’t have proper nail dryers. Sitting in front of a small fan in the middle of winter wasn’t an ideal situation for me I must say. I’ll definitely come back once in awhile though!

I normally go to a neighborhood place but their prices are different depending on who you get — my last visit the girl did a horrible job, my nails chipped under the acrylic afterwards, the color came off almost immediately, she hurt me while cutting, and charged me well above what my refill should have cost. I wanted to try a new place where prices were set and my friend kept asking me to try this place with her.
I love the set up and atmosphere. We were immediately welcomed by the manager, given a drink, and asked to sit while we waited for our appointments. I got an acrylic refill while my friend got a gel manicure. I am completely thrilled with the refill itself — I’m just 2 days away from it being 3 weeks old and they still look great. Color has not chipped or faded and except for the area by my cuticles where you can see nail growth, it would look like a fresh manicure.
That being said, I wasn’t a fan of the technician, Jeannie. She didn’t greet me (no hello or smile or anything), asked what I wanted and did it. I felt like she rushed it — my friend with the gel manicure had a much friendlier technician who took her time, made conversation with her, remembered what she liked though she hadn’t been there in a few months. The website says a massage, lotion, etc should be included — Jeannie finished my nails and stuck me under the dryer then left to start a pedicure. Again, no words or friendly gestures at all. I don’t know if this place doesn’t normally do designs or an accent nail but she didn’t ask me and I felt uncomfortable asking her. My friend used the ATM and was reimbursed as promised.
Though I am very happy with the work she did, I’m disappointed I didn’t get the full service listed — my friend got lotion and hand massage while her technician talked to her. Mine didn’t make eye contact and seemed annoyed when I smudged a nail accidentally. I feel like I didn’t get what I was promised. Also a refill on our drink would have been nice! :-)
I will return and hope to make this my new regular place, but I am hoping I don’t get Jeannie again. Once I have a technician I like I will request her going forward. Nail Bar would received a 5 star rating if it wasn’t for Jeannie’s lack of service.

After having to cancel and reschedule my appointment several times because my dog was sick I was able to finally have my mani pedi this past weekend. The staff I spoke to on the phone were very understanding and friendly about rescheduling 3 – 4 different times which I really appreciated. I had gel done on my fingernails and regular polish on my toes and I’m happy with the way they look. I didn’t find the employees rude at all, they were actually pretty interested in having a conversation which was nice. Overall, clean establishment with nice, understanding staff and great work. I’ll definitely be back.

Let me preface this review by stating that I was very nervous after reading some of these negative reviews. I was treating my mom while she was visiting and needed an alternative when our favorite spa (Body Restoration) was all booked. I chose nail bar because of the central location and the fact that they were open on New Years Day (unlike most other places).
I shouldnt have been nervous. The whole experience was really exceptional– truly a treat. I was so happy that I brought my Mom here. We both had basic pedicures and the signature manicure.
First, I called and made an appointment a few days ahead. I spoke to the manager and he was very nice. About an hour before our appointment, we were still shopping and I realized we werent going to make it– I called and spoke to a nice woman, who happily pushed our appoiuntment back an hour and a half.
When we got there, we were pleasantly greeted and asked to pick out colors. I eschew the more vibrant shades for either a french or more basic hue, so I cant speak to the range of colors offered. There seemed to be more than enough variety, and I found a pretty natural color. Mom shares my philosophy on nail color and she found a different but equally pretty natural color. We were seated in comfy massage chairs and offered champagne or wine.
The basic pedicure was wonderful. My feet were pampered and massaged– I dont know what cream they used but it worked wonders. We had been walking around and shopping all day, the pedicure was so relaxing. My toes have never looked prettier!
We sipped our drinks and then headed over to the «bar» for the manicure. The women did a very nice job on our nails. The signature manicure includes a shoulder massage while your nails are drying– my expectations were not very high but the woman did such a great job! She worked on the knots in my shoulder for about 15 mminutes– I was in heaven. In the end, it really didnt matter that Body Resortation was booked!
I cant praise the women working there enough. They were pleasant and chatty, funny and real. We had a great time. My Mom actually suggested we make visiting Nail Bar a regular event, inviting my Aunt and Cousin.
In sum: We had an excellent experience, met lovely people who gave us great manicures and pedicures for a very reasonable price. Ive paid more for the same services at places that were far less pleasant.
Its now a few days later and my mani and pedi are still in perfect condition. This despite doing dishes and washing soot of my hands from cleaning the fireplace. We will definitely be back.

This is my 2^nd time reviewing this place and I thought that they had gotten better with their service, but its gone so wrong. Before the owner was the rude one and I loved the employees. Now the owner is the nice one and the employees are the rude ones… go figure?
Rude. Not worth $ 35 manicure.

I asked for a shellac manicure and wound up with a vinylux manicure. Lots of clumping and bubbles. Not what I wanted, at all.
Otherwise, Nail Bar has a very friendly staff and prices about on par with other salons in Philadelphia. At least I got a free glass of wine out of it.

I have been here for pedis and manis many times. I was happy with the job they did every time. The women seemed relatively nice and I kept frequenting the place every few weeks and even started bringing a friend there as a place for us to catch up.
Then one Saturday or Sunday (I forget which day but I know it was the weekend), I was walking by with a different friend and they had their sign out on the street saying «walk ins welcome». (Mind you, Every time except for once I have always been a walk in client with no issues).
This particular day, myself and my friend, saw the sign and decided to go up to get some pedis. When we walked in I saw the place was full, which was ok with me, I was going to either put my name down or just wait or maybe even come back another day but then the man behind the counter (yes, a man, who I had never seen there in all my visits) EVER SO RUDLY barked «do you have an appointment» we said no we are just waking in and he huffed and puffed and looked around the place and again barked at us «well, wer’re full — we aren’t accepting appointments, I mean — you need to book an appointment ugh!!! with a ton of nasty attitude, we were still kind and said — ok we see, thanks bye.
It’s perfectly fine they were busy and full on a weekend, I completely understand, but they were the ones who placed a sign on the sidewalk that said walk ins welcome, so no need to be a complete rude d – k when we walked in.
Because of that mans completely ridiculous and rude behavior I walked away never to return. I along with my friends religiously get mani and pedis so that man just cost the nail bar much business.

The last time I went to nailbar I was a little annoyed –I went there to get a gel manicure for my birthday and they didn’t offer me a drink.
The girls that work there do a good job with the manicures and pedicures but I was not satisfied with the very few color selection with the gel nail polish. The manager is also very good
