Nail Spa Bar

It’s been three days and I can already see that the acrylic is lifting, one of my thumb nail broke, and acrylic from my left middle finger chipped off at the tip, exposing the tip.
This is the first time I broke a nail or my nail chipped doing regular activities. Especially with the fact that I work in retail so my nails go through a lot but even with that, I’ve never broken a nail.
I do not recommend this salon if you want to get acrylics done. I knew with the method they do the acrylics that it was not going to be quality work, but I always try things once, so now I know for a fact, this is not worth $ 30-​$ 35.
***Also on their nail bar, there’s a sign that says that they will not give refunds for acrylics. I’ve never seen that at a salon ever, and the fact they have that up isn’t a good sign as for their work or service.***
Idk why I keep doing this to myself. I recommend Luxxe Nails in Brewerytown for gels and acrylics, they do QUALITY work and they last FOREVER until you need to get your nails done again. They could get expensive if you want extra things done to it but its worth it.

They always do a great job on my acrylic nails. I came in today for my prom nails and I’ve never had such great service!

How disappointing was this visit! Got a spa pedicure and it was a complete waste of time and money. All they did was trimmed and painted my toe nails. There was no massage. The hot stone wasn’t even hot. $ 10 more than a regular pedicure for what? I won’t be returning.

She was quick and applied thin coats to make it even and not clumpy. I did a polish change and got my nails decently shaped and filed! Will come back!

The worst place ever! I have been their customer for a while. Even though normally gel must hold for 2 weeks, I ended up coming back for fixing gel in 3 days as it was incorrectly applied. The owner is extremely rude. She started to argue with me, made me to wait for 30 min and then told me that I have to wait for another 30 as they have to accomadate new clients. Quality of manicure is really bad as well as the quality of the gel. Place is not bright and generally crowded. Definetely, not where u can relax ! Think twice before you decide 2 go there!

This place started off great but my nails did not turn out great. Each gal at the bar beside me got a massage (both hand and neck) and I didn’t get either. The polish was messy and my nails were not filed smoothly. Sigh. Waste of $!

My roommate and I got two full sets. There were signs saying they do not warranty or guarantee full sets (the woman also told me this in person). Sure enough the day after the manicure my first nail fell off. We are both down to five nails and it has been the sixth day.

I got a bacterial fungal infection from the acrylic and nail tools used at this salon. After one refill all of the nails fell off leaving a green/​yellow residue that was directly unsanitary nail files/​brushes/​application utensils. My medical physician confirmed this and gave me an a toooooo to correct the problem. The manager and owner have yet to respond or refund my simple ask for the full set and one refill.
I would think a consumer health concern would be handled delicately and more efficiently at such a high traffic nail salon. I am disgusted. I will spare the viewers the nasty photos, but if this isn’t addressed I will publicize them.

First time here yesterday on Sunday and will definitely be coming back. Everyone I encountered, outside of my manicurist, was extremely pleasant and nice. They all seem to have a great working relationship!
I was greeted and seated the minute I came in, it was also packed in there. I chose my toe color and sat down, where she immediately asked me if I wanted tea/​WINE/​water. I didn’t even know they offered beverages so I was pleasantly surprised. She brought me a basket of all the gel colors so I could pick my mani polish as she started on my pedicure.
The pedicure was great, toes are polished and cuticles cut. They also include a hot stone massage for your legs! The chairs are a standard massage chair with basic options. They also do a test on your polish to make sure you absolutely love it before they continue, which I thought was awesome in case you change your mind or it looks different on.
The manicure spot is a full bar and has chairs along it, rather than individual seats/​stations. You can see the manicure photo, cuticles cut, great polish and guarantee if it chips within two weeks, they will fix it for free! Just remember your polish number. They even give you a massage on your back while your nails are drying under the light! I also noticed they put sunscreen on before starting for the UV light. Not sure if that actually does anything but it was a nice addition!
I paid in cash — they give you a discount if you pay with cash. I also saw that there was an ATM available in case you didn’t bring cash. Oh, the prices are super fair for this place! gel mani/​pedi was 45 $ and I saw that a regular mani/​pedi is 30 $, which I think are the cash prices. There is a check in special, on your 6^th check in you get 5 dollars off so remember to check in! If you don’t do Unilocal check-​ins, they have a punch card.

The service was really bad! The lady barely removed any cuticles — she just slightly filed my nails. My nails look like something I would have done. They have complimentary drinks but they never asked me if I wanted anything.

Me and my friend came here together on a snowy Sunday and the place was still very busy! I called a day ahead and was told that a reservation was not necessary, but from February onward they will be closed on Tuesdays.
As soon as we arrive we were told to go to pick out our colors. They have a good selection of colors and brands like OPI and essie. I picked a blue OPI polish and my friend picked a purple metallic Vinylux polish. I only got a manicure with a design on 2 fingers, while my friend got both mani & pedi.
They served us our choice of beverage while getting our nails done. I thought it was really nice that they let me sit in the massage chair next to my friend while she was getting her pedi done even thought I wasn’t. I was pretty happy with the service and my nails still look nice the next day. Unfortunately for my friend her nails chipped while we were out to dinner. I think in another review someone else had a chipping issue with the Vinylux nail polish. I think as long as you stay away from this brand you’ll be fine.
My mani cost $ 12 and an extra $ 5 for the design and my friend paid $ 30 for her mani & pedi.
BRING CASH, they do let you use your credit card, but you will be charged a $ 2 fee.
Overall I enjoyed my experience and will come here again.

Literally love this place! Amazing and relaxing place to get your nails done. Ive been going here since 2012 so its been quite some time, I love the pedicure and manicure service. I have never done gel nails but their acrylics are OK which is why I gave it ⁴⁄₅ stars. Dont get me wrong quality wise everything is perfect I just feel like its not filed down perfectly to the way I like it. Besides that everything is perfect and the staff is extremely friendly! Def worth a visit!

I brought my stepmom here for a mother’s day pedicure and I got one as well. First off, this place is cash only so come prepared.
I made an appointment and they saw us quickly. They put us in fancy comfy massage chairs and then got a hot stone massage on our legs while sipping complimentary wine (vitamin water for non-​alc drinkers). It was really soothing and nice! Then our pedicures began. My stepmother’s went absolutely fine and she loved it. The woman who was working on me cut my cuticle really deeply and tried to play it off, then put something on it to stop the bleeding which stung SO badly. She mumbled something at me and kept working.
When we were done we were rushed over to the seating area. The store was closing soon so they tried to rush us out but my toes weren’t dry!
I paid $ 50 for two pedis + tip which isn’t bad at all. I just wish they weren’t so rushed because it makes some of their work sloppy.

Although the salon is nice, the quality of nail service is horrible. I wanted a coffin shape and ended up with a square shape. She never sculpted the acrylic on my nail rather dipped it into a bowl of acrylic. On top of that I just got my nails done 6 days ago and three nails haVe popped off of one hand and one on the other hand. I called to have them fix and was told they would charge me 5 dollars to fix because if she did it for free and wouldn’t profit. I really don’t like Philadelphias nail scene because this is one of the many nail salons downtown that don’t do nails correctly.

I was debating on whether to give these folks 3 or 4 stars. I went with 3 because they do take good care of you depending on the person that you get. And also, they are pretty cheap. I have been here a couple of times when I decided to get my nails at the last minute. On some other occasions, it happened that I was short on money to go somewhere else like Mi Cumbia. The ambiance inside is a little depressing (maybe because I feel claustrophobic in small and dark places). However, most of the time it’s not that crowded and I can deal with that sensation for about an hour. I think it gets the job done pretty well. All of these times, I have been a walk in and they were able to accommodate me. If I could give half a star more, I would’ve.

For all those women (and men) out there who enjoy the occasional manicure or pedicure, I would highly recommend Nail Spa Bar. Don’t let the name fool you, this place is a blissful oasis of pampering angels!
Everyone that I have encountered here has always been so friendly, accommodating, and not to mention efficient! They start you off with a beverage of your choice (wine or champagne should be standard at all the nail salons) and most of the time, you are immediately seated even without an appointment!
And here’s the icing on the cake: the prices are pretty solid here! $ 30 for regular mani/​pedi and $ 25 for gel manicure! These are probably the best quality and price in Center City!
Tip: Bring cash– they knock off a few dollars if you don’t use your card and they also have a punch card system, so you can work towards that free appointment in the future! Have fun!

Oh a phenomenal place! Great foot massages, free tea/​wine, and friendly staff. Got a pedi here and left feeling like someone had pumped me half full of helium because my steps felt so light.
Clean and hidden away, great selection of colors, just fantastic.

I’m rough on my hands, I know it and it’s why I rarely go for manicures because I know I’m bound to mess up my nails in just a few short days. With a girlfriend getting married and another friend wanting to go out for a day of pampering leading up to the days wedding events it only made sense to look into nail salon options that could take both of us at a reasonable time and with a reasonable price tag. Enter Nail Spa Bar.
What Nail Spa Bar offers is a mani/​pedi with hot stone massage in big massage chairs plus a glass of vino all for the minimal cost of $ 30. They have an incredible selection of colors to choose from with brands including Essie, OPI, and Vinylux. Vinylux?! As soon as I saw it I snatched a nice neutral for my fingers and brought it over to the nail tech to glaze my nails with a splash of color. If you’re not familiar with Vinylux, let me fill you in… vinylux is a unique formula that does not use a base coat and instead strengthens by way of UV rays using a special topcoat. The result is a manicure that is guaranteed to be chip free for 7 days. I love Vinylux, I’ve had it a few times over and have loved the results.
I should have known that the tech didn’t know what she was doing as soon as she laid down a base coat on my nails, but I’m not one to tell someone how to do their job. The rest of my manicure was same old same old and though I didn’t notice, I’m fairly certain that the special vinylux top coat was not used to seal the manicure. How can I confirm my suspicions? Well, here I am the day after my manicure and my nails are already chipping. No Bueno. Why carry a specialized product when your employees don’t know how to apply it? (Insert sad face).
The rest of the experience was meh, nothing spectacular as far as I’m concerned; the more I look at it the more I realize that the manicure was kind of sloppy, has already lost its shine, and causes me to think «I guess you get what you pay for»…cheap price tag, mediocre servicing. Will I go back again? Maybe for a mani/​pedi combo because it is a relaxing way to hang with the girls, but I won’t go out of my way to drop in for just a single service because there are far better salons in the city.

I have gotten my nails done here for the past year. I wish I knew earlier but I found out too late and now I’m really bummed about leaving Philly and not having this amazing place for my nails. The highlights are definitely the very nice people, complementary wine/​coffee/​water, and massage. This place just does a good job of catering to the people and making sure they are satisfied with the work done on their nails.
For a manicure/​pedicure/​eyebrow I can’t remember exactly but I think I spent honestly less than $ 40/​$ 50 so that is an awesome steal. It’s slightly more for gel on the hands but regardless, they are so good! The people are shy to talk but they know if you keep coming they become more talkative then. Linda does eyebrow waxing which she pays attention to and is very meticulous when doing so. I love her. I have gotten nails done from almost everyone here and they all do an excellent job. They also fix it if something happens the next few days for free of charge.
Tips: Very busy during weekends and then after 5pm on weekdays since that is when most girls come to get nails done. Best time is to come at 10 am because you are the only person there and you have much undivided attention. I did that for my birthday and they celebrated it with me and gave me little gift and sang to me. I definitely would recommend anyone to come here.
