Yeah, so they definitely charged me $ 80 for a frickin’ oil change for a 2007 Toyota Camry. Using incredibly cheap synthetic oil you can find online for $ 3.49 a quart (Napa oil). If you know anything about cars, you know that price is ridiculous, even if they used higher quality oil.
What makes it worse is that this shop disguises themselves as an honest mom-​and-​pop shop. I don’t know how they have gotten favorable reviews when they charge $ 80 for something as simple as an oil change.

I have been going to Joe Long’s for any issue I’ve had with my Jeep and my girlfriend’s car for over 7 years. He is always prompt with responding and always does quality work. Would highly recommend him to anyone.

A neighbor recommended this under-​the-​radar location as a good place to get state inspection. What can I say? The whole transaction was easy and seamless, the car was dropped off in the morning and ready for action a couple hours later. Go to Joe Long, he and his staff are professionals.

I had a car emergency and needed to find a shop that could take me last minute on a Saturday morning. After calling a few shops I came across Joe’s and the reviews were good so I called and Joe told me to come on in. They were able to look at my vehicle right away and fix the problem at hand in a short time. Joe was truly a lifesaver in that regard. The cons I have is first it’s very confusing to enter the office area of the business and there’s no sign guiding you to where you need to go. Second, upon finally finding the office I walked into a room of people who all just stared at me. there’s no greeting… no one asked, can I help you… it felt very awkward. Overall, Joe is friendly and the shop seems solid and reliable.

East Falls Automotive was recommended to me by a friend. I went there for the first time this week because I needed my yearly inspections/​emissions test, an oil change, and new wiper blades. I had called ahead to make an appointment, thought I don’t know if that was necessary.
All in all I was very happy with their service. I dropped my car off, walked home, got a call a couple of hours later, and walked back to pick it up. They didn’t try to add on any additional expenses for my oil change or my yearly inspection, which I appreciated. They were friendly and efficient, and you just can’t beat having a mechanic that you can walk to.
Will definitely use again.

I have taken my car here a few times over the past few months for inspection, brakes, and an oil change and have been completely happy with the results. It is not glamorous at all and their customer service could use some work — my boyfriend took his jeep here for an inspection and oil change and upon picking up his jeep he stood in a room full of employees and no one acknowledged him for a noticeable period of time — but they are good at what they do for a good price. Just don’t expect a red carpet or even a welcome mat.

Brought my car in on a Tuesday and explained to Joe my situation and tight time schedule… he was understanding and made sure to order the car parts and get the car fixed on time. I also had trouble with getting a check to him and he was willing to wait an extra day until I was able to get the money to him. Overall, a great experience and a great place to get your car fixed! I’ve been an East Falls resident for 5 years now and never even knew this place existed (not in the greatest condition on the outside), but I’m so happy to have stumbled upon it… I highly recommend going here

Again, our failing infrastructure and city’s limited winter roadway management caused significant damage to our vehicle. We needed front end body work and our insurance pointed us to several body shops in (more or less) the area. Nearly every place we called had multiple week (or month) waits among other challenges such as no storing on their lot and/​or storage fees. I remembered Joe has a body shop and gave them a call. He stayed open a touch late to wait on us to drop off the vehicle (tow.) As always he was up front about what was needed, price, variables, and completion date. It’s a newer car and paint can always be challenging, they did a fantastic job matching and finishing the bodywork. Also, it was completed very quickly. I would recommend Joe Long for body work and repair. Of course, they have a full service mechanical repair and maintenance which we utilize as well.

Love, love, love Joe Long and his staff! Dog-​friendly and they love their neighbors, too!
It is not in his job description to bail out a damsel-​in-​distress but being the local and humble hero he is, Joe helped me out of a tight spot. I have always gotten great care, reasonably and in good time but his attentiveness to peoples’ needs are just what makes a great neighborhood mechanic.
I am due for state inspection this month and I am glad to give Joe my business.
I know it will be cost-​effective and efficient. It is always my pleasure to visit which I can’t say about most mechanics. Mad props to Joe and Mo, his ray of sunshine at the front desk, who is always on point, too!

I have to say that Shay H is right we did drop the ball on that one. In our defense we were ask to look for used parts as to save her some money and we told her it would take some time to find used parts .The parts house we used had a hard time locating them and did’nt let us know we were so busy we forgot to call them to see if they found the parts they did’nt so we ordered after market parts. If you look at the date of the review its a hustling time of the year (not an EXCUSE). We generally do take very good care of our customers OLD and NEW but as i said we did drop the ball on that one! I was very surprised by this places. After searching for a body repair shop on Unilocal.I found this place and thought it was a good reputable shop due to the wonderful comments/​ratings. I found it to be the opposite. I went to the shop to have someone assess my damage and provide me with service. They kept telling me they would call me back after they did a search for the parts needed to fix the damage. A good 3 – 4 days went by with no update. I then called and they told me they were going to start the search again. I again received no answer from them a week later. I at this point have decided to no longer peruse their services. Terrible terrible customer service. If you want your damaged repaired within a timely manner I suggest you don’t get fooled by the few good reviews on here and keep searching !!

The nicest guy you’d ever want to do business with.
I know nothing about cars so I often get swindled out of lots of cash at garages. I felt really comfortable here though! My car was fixed within a few hours and the office is easy breezy.
And you can bring your dog inside. Yes!

Love this place. Brought my beloved Jeep to Joe after I got fed up with another local mechanic. He was totally straightforward about what needed fixing and recommended a solid body shop for the stuff he couldn’t fix. I’ve gone to him for everything from oil changes to a new radiator now. Even have my husband bringing his BMW in.
The place itself is huge; if you go in the back, you’ll see it’s basically an airplane hanger. The office is kind of hidden. Enter through the door on the sidewalk, then through the first door once you’re in the hall. Maureen will probably be there to greet you.
Everyone at Joe Long’s is very honest, dependable and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Very helpful and honest… got us in and out for our smog and state inspection quickly. We had called around to other garages/​service stations and they wanted us to leave our car there all day. Thanks, Johh. we’ll be back!

Super fast and efficient place. I called, drove there, was serviced (inspection and oil change) and out all within an hour and a half. I told the mechanic that I was in a time crunch and he moved my car in front of the other drop offs, hence the 5 stars. It had its Mom Pop feel and was reasonable with prices. The mechanic was super helpful about a future body repair. Overall a great, straight-​shooting place.
