We make history come to Life

We create and deliver customized tours and experiences: including Personal Tours, Walking Tours, Bus Tours, Student Tours and historic programs. We specialize in Historic Philadelphia, Valley Forge and Washington’s Crossing PA and NJ.

Finally, we have costumed guides, first person impressionist, plays, musical performances and historic skits. We offer educational and interpretive programs:

«Soldiers of the American Revolutionary War», «Music of the American Revolution», «The Underground Railroad» «Samuel D. Burris: Conductor on the Underground Railroad», «African American Soldiers and the Civil War», Music of The Civil War Era”, and the very popular «Evolution of the Blues».

History

Established in 2010.

Joe Becton, the founder of the company, worked for 21 years as a National Park Ranger and Manger, then decided to use his historical services abilities, genealogy and research skills, and community relations in the public sector. In 2004 he appeared in the Emmy winning documentary «An Extraordinary Life, An Electric Mind: Ben Franklin» in the same year his «Underground Railroad in Philadelphia» walking talk won the National Freedom Star award. Since the Company opened its doors we have toured thousands of school kids, thirteen family reunions, a few day camps and delivered programs everywhere from conferences to colleges, and university campuses to school class rooms, battlefields, museums and historic sites. We have presented in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, California and Virginia.

Meet the Business Owner

Joseph W.

Business Owner

Joseph Becton was born in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania in 1952. He educated in the Philadelphia public school system. Joined the United States Marines where he earned his GED diploma. He travelled to Southern Europe and Turkey in 1973. In 1975 visited Mexico and Guatemala and learned Spanish. From 1975 to 1977 he attended Reading Area Community College and earned AA, AAS degrees. In 1977 to 1979 He attended University of West Florida and earned BA in History. In 1983, he worked for the National Park Service at Gulf Island National Seashore Florida. In 1985 he worked at Valley Forge National Historic Park Pennsylvania and contributed to the Patriots of African descent monument 1993. In 1987 Joe became The Charter Supervisor for the Philadelphia Ranger Corps /​Fairmount Park Rangers. In 1992 he returned to the Park Service. In October 2001 he was promoted to Supervisor and retired in 2010.

Joe is a Teacher, Musician, Philosopher, Historian, Tour Guide, Father and Grand father.
