My husband and I grew up in the South Philadelphia but moved to Southern Mississippi for 12 years. My family live on the east coast. Therefore, we moved back to be closer to my family and to open our restaurant Dex & Syd’s. Many have wondered where the name Dex & Syd originated from. To answer your question– from my two beautiful children Dexter and Sydney. Our restaurant is a casual and no frills kind of restaurant. Down South a lot of the best restaurants are in a small setting and very casual. The food is just good home cooking food served with a lot of flavor and so plenty that you can easily share a meal. We have adapted a lot of these characteristics to our restaurant Dex & Syd’s.
