This is my absolute favorite place to eat, not only in my small quaint little town but in the high desert. I have tried nearly everything on their menu and have never been disappointed. The service is awesome. Their prices are very reasonable and they are always very friendly even on their busiest nights they make you feel welcomed. I have to admit I have read the other reviews and honestly the low star ratings were from a long time ago. If you haven’t tried them recently please give this place a 2nd chance you won’t be disappointed. And if you have any suggestions for them I’m sure they would love to hear them.

If you want a good sammich and a ice cold frosty beer this is your place! A nice verity of beer on tap and bottles ! Jalapeño poppers are a must have with the home made ranch ;) chicken bacon ranch Sammy is my personal fav!

Good sandwiches. Not great, but pretty good. Have had better. The townsfolk love this place and it has pretty good business. Good service too. I would probably come here regularly if I was a sandwich person.

I’m sorry…
But after you’ve come to the acceptance of your unfortunate destination, «My Hero’s» is a MUST. Cold draft beer, Games, and Dirty Girls.
Dirty Girls are sandwiches you pervert.
I know… I was bummed too.
Until I tried this blessing of a sandwich that was delivered from the sandwich Gods themselves. Truly incredible. The name isn’t on the menu… But just order it. Whatever it is, I guarantee you won’t completely despise Phelan.

by far best sandwich I’ve EVER had, just moved to Phelan in March was just out checking out the town one day for a place to eat stumbled upon this place… must’ve been back at least 10 times already… highly recommended

Would love a 5 star sandwich shop in this deprived little town but can’t give My Hero 5 stars. They are good but stingy with the meat of their sandwiches. The turkey and Swiss I ordered had very little turkey but the bread was good and soft. Hubby ordered wings which were overdone to the point of being almost inedible. This place could be great and has a wonderful selection of craft beer but they need to improve their sandwiches

Hands down one of my favorite places to eat! Awesome service & great food. After you eat a sandwich from My Hero you won’t want a sandwich from anywhere else! Nothing better than a delicious sub & an ice cold beer! Highly recommend this place if your in the area.

Love this local establishment. It was recently taken over by Phelan residents who are going to continue the greatness the previous owner provided along with adding a few new things. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. When I go in I’m bound to see a familiar face. The sandwiches and appetizers are great and they have new salads. And let’s not forget about the best part the beer lol. Great variety and even local brews. Check this place out you’ll love it too. Kids are welcome as well a they have video games and all the hit songs on the juke box.

I always love supporting local businesses. My Hero is an average establishment, with decent food and good drinks. Although most of their appetizers come frozen in a box, their jalapeño poppers are fresh-​made and really, really tasty. The downsides? The tables always seem be sticky, their salads remind me of something a lunch lady would have thrown in my direction in high school, and some of the girls behind the counter are just plain rude (nothing like being scowled at by a skinny, gum-​chomping jerk while you order your French dip).

Great local establishment. Excellent veggie sandwich and five star fried zucchini. The owner and wait staff were friendly and courteous. Service was fast too. My only disappointment was that I didn’t have any singles for the boxing game.

This place is pretty awesome, especially for a small town. I wish I had something like this in my neighborhood in San Diego. It’s a bar but also a sandwich shop which sure beats greasy burgers and fried foods when you’re hanging out drinking. If you’re in town or just heading through Phelan you should definitely check this spot out.

Been here several times before and food has always been good, prices great. This time the veggie sandwich was lettuce and tomato on bread and they used wrong dressing (as per menu description and previous visits). Meatballs on sandwich burned. The staff went from nice local kids to strip club rejects (fake boobs and little clothing). Hope this is a one time issue and not a new pattern, this is one of our few non-​chain choices.

The subs actually are pretty good, but you never know what they’re going to charge you for them because it’s never the price on the menu. Sometimes the beer prices vary too depending on who’s serving you. Servers are usually inexperienced young people. Good local feel but kinda lacking in professionalism. Owner is a nice guy. They have the best selection of craft beers in the area, in fact the only selection of craft brews in the area, but they can be pricey, $ 5+, unless they’re on tap in which case they’re more like $ 4 a pint. Nice atmosphere, friendly locals, acoustics a little loud. I’d probably go there a lot more often if the prices were consistent.

So i heard this place was amazing&had to try it for myself… so the review goes like this… my husband orderd the cheesesteak sandwhich that had 2pieces of beef, 1slice of cheese,&a drop of sauce, it was dry, plain,&pretty much nothing but bread&worst sandwich he ever had. I orderd the grilled chicken salad, which had only old, brown, shredded lettuce, sliced cheese (thats meant for sandwhich), some microwaved chicken patty that had been cut up into slices, 2tomatoe slices,&1 peppercinis, I thought how can a salad taste bad, its just a salad… but this salad was the most plain, unflavored, crappy salad i ever had. And it took FOREVER to get our food, what was the wait for??? Not the yucky food!!! I say try for yourself if u want to waste $&be disapointed. Oh and its pricey for this food, our total for salad, samdwhich&2drinks&fries was around $ 28 :/

This place has the best tasting subs I have had. The prices are very reasonable for subs. They also host a lot of sports events (because they double function as a pub) though I’ve never been into this scene and am not in the area enough to really take part in this aspect anyway. The people are generally friendly the only reason this palce doesn’t get a 5 is a few times we’ve ordered over the phone and they seemed to completely neglect to make the subs until we actually came in to pick them up. My ratings are:

I’m not from around here but I came up the other day to visit some friends and we came here to have some food and beers and watch the game. I couldnt believe how inexpensive everything was. Huge beers on tap were only 4 bucks and they sandwiches they make are great! Got a foot long Italian sausage on wheat it was great! They got wings too! Really good buffulo sauce on these bad boys I tried some of my friends. So wish there was one close to me I’d live here. One last thing they got q rock band arcade game and its only 50 cents. Pleace gets better and better!
